Samsung 65" UHD 200hz UA65JU7000W - $2895 + $40 Delivery Metro @ The Good Guys

490

First time I've seen the 7 series under three grand. Looks like a great deal for a 200hz UHD Samsung. Can't really tell the difference between this and the 8 series (think its only the speed of the Smart TV processor and maybe HDR).

  • I have the 55' version of this TV, got it for $1300

    Absolutely AMAZING

    • Where did you purchase it for $1300? :)

      • Was during the 20% off eBay sale a while go, through TGG

        • Are you sure ju7000 55 at $1300?

          Not ju6400?

I got it for $1600 GG eBay sale and then cash back.

        • @sash213:

I originally ordered the ju6400 - then realised the Samsung UA55JU7000W 55"(140cm) UHD LED LCD 200Hz Smart TV NEW was on sale.

I paid $1500 not 1300, just checked sorry.

  • The equivalent of the Sony 65x8500c I'm guessing?

    • I think this Samsung has a better picture while the Sony is much slimmer so some people prefer it for flush wall mounting. The Sony also runs Android which gets mixed reviews.

    • Pretty much identical except that the Samsung has a higher maximum brightness and slightly better grey uniformity. However, the Samsung also suffers from 24p playback shuddering which is not ideal if you watch movies, tv shows a lot.

Btw, Sony is only slimmer on the top half.

…24p playback shuddering which is not ideal if you watch movies, tv shows…

thanks - that is kind of is a big thing for a tv.

    • +3

The sony one has Triluminous (quantium dot tech). The samsung one doesnt have SUHD(quantium dot tech)

      • OK thanks will probably wait on the Sony to get around that price then, good price for the Samsung still

        • Actually the sony was $2400 for the 65" not that long ago. Sony does have a few issues thou. Not major ones. Picture quality is generally better on Samsung than Others. Not sure how a side by side compares to a sony

Great price jogga, thanks for posting

JB $2896 can likely drop it a bit more negotiating between the 2

    • I've struggled negotiating on these sale prices at JB. They usually say to me the sticker price is the best they can do.

      • +2

I always find you have to try a few jb stores. A lot of their staff don't play nice with price matching. a few years back when dick Smith had the iPad 4 for $400 I tried 3 different jbs to price match. None would budge. Finally found one who was happy to do it no questions asked.

        • +3

Bought it for $2800 inc delivery from JB yesterday after negotiating down. Dont settle for the list price at either GG or JB.

  • Looks like a good price… anyone got this TV that has any input?

Looks pretty good on rtings - http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/ju7100

    Cheers,

My dad got this tv before christmas, think he bargained them down to $3k. Its really impressive. I thought my 51" tv was huge when i upgraded, this at 15" more makes it look like a tablet screen. Its huge. Next generation smart tv so you dont need any apple tv/media player, you just use it through the tv. The 200hz makes it look real 'fluid', hard to describe but i wasnt a fan, id go for a regular 100hz tv when I next get one. 4k res is legit though, and the content is coming out by the day.

    • is JU7000W essentially the same as ju7100?
      Thanks

      • +2

        I think so.

      • +1

        Yeah it is. http://www.cnet.com/au/products/samsung-unju7100-series/

Series information: I performed a hands-on evaluation of the 65-inch US-version of the series, the UN65JU7100. Samsung Australia has confirmed that this is identical to the UAJU7000 model available locally. This review also applies to the other screen sizes in the series. All sizes have identical specs and according to the manufacturer should provide very similar picture quality. In Australia the JU7000 comes in 55-, 65- and 75-inch screen sizes.

    • I've had this TV for a few months and it is has a beautiful crisp picture.

The Samsung Smart centre is also good with apps for all the movie services (eg Netflix, Presto) as well as TV station apps.

The built in Wifi works well but its better with the wired ethernet connection.

The TV also comes with a HDMI/USB box which basically is saves you from reaching to back of the TV to plug in devices. The only issue with this is that proprietary cable that connects the TV to this box is quite short.

Connects easily to Plex server and other media servers.

    It's not even oled.

    • Nope. Nor is it the price of one. A oled 65" is well over 7k.

  • I got the Curved 6 series from last sale for $2k5 and it is amazing!
Decent price for this newer model.

    • -1

I RMA'd my last one because of the curve.

  • Any one got deals on TVs around the $1k mark?

  • 1 year warranty?? Is that comparable to other brands?

    • +1

Consumer Guarantee overwrites any "warranty" offered by manufacturers.

You should be able to get a 3-5 year warranty for a tv of this price range.

I just got an email from eBay for 10% single use code on Good Guys online drops $100 of the TV and shipping down to $2835

      How is it on angles?

      • +1

        • Thanks - one last question

is the guide nice and quick? and smartTV features good? reviews seem good. I want to use for hulu/netflix

    • +1

This ones UHD, so up to you really..

    • +1

If you are spending $2k for a TV I reckon you would want the latest and greatest which is 4k.

  • very good price point for an amazing tv. its a pity that 75 is now the new 50… :-|

    • yeh tempted by this but def waiting for when 75's come to around this price

Price match at JB, stack with 5-10% off JB gift cards (eg from Woolworths) = win!

    • Can I borrow your time machine? I would like to exchange all of my Aussie dollars for US dollars at the exchange rate from six months ago.

    • Can I ask how you get 5-10% JB giftcards?

      • But JB giftcards in Woolworths with Wish Giftcards, which you can buy on cashrewards at 5% off.

BigW had 10% off giftcards at Christmas time which act as Wish Giftcards (all Woolworth group shops)

    Nice 1st Post!

    Well done

    • Thanks!

  • Bing Lee have 20% off on eBay store (sorry on phone can't link) as per other OB post tomorrow from $10

So $3499 minus 20% and then maybe even an additional 10% through targeted eBay promotion = 30%? If so its $2696 without delivery.

    • Unfortunately no Bing Lee in Melbourne :(

Also the 20% off is capped at $500 so not sure if that impacts the price.

  • +1

the JU7500 is a much better option for gamers with its crazy low input lag, was under 3k all of December for the 65" @ JB HIFI. all you have to do is get over the curved aspect.

    • +1

yeah i got one and love it! epic for gaming, I have a nice gaming rig hooked up to it and damn do games look and play nice in 4k at 60hz, the curved screen def adds depth IMO.

    • Missed it because I was out of the country, then checkied rtings.com and have been kicking myself since…

  • How are Samsung's EPG these days? I have a Samsung tv from ~5 years ago and opening the EPG really sucks. Takes forever to load, most frustrating part of a tv.

    Now $2495 ? (in NSW)

Samsung 65" Series 7 UHD LED TV - UA65JU7000 $2495 @ Bing Lee eBay [Pickup ONLY]

  • I just bought this tv at JB hifi in Canberra for $2809. Added a pair of rechargeable 3D glasses for $9 and a second for half price.

Total of $2843 for the tv and two sets of USB charge glasses.

Tried a bit of 4K, 1080p and standard def content to see how it'd run. The high def stuff is great but watching standard definition episodes doesn't look too good.

  • Looks like the Good Guys are out of stock on this item or they've removed it from their website when they announced their "$200 PAY LESS PAYBACK when you click and collect" promotion? Might have to go in store to see if this is true or not. Can anyone confirm?
