30% off Selected Samsung Mobiles (Galaxy Note 4 Edge 32GB $790.3, Galaxy S6 32GB $699.3) at DickSmith (Westfield Sydney Central)

40

Just spotted a few Samsung mobiles that are 30% off:

  • Note 4 Edge 32GB black or white $790.30 (from $1,129)
  • Galaxy S6 32GB black or white $699.30 (from $999)

The S6 mobiles are VF branded but unlocked so can be used on any network whereas the Note 4 Edge are outright unlocked without network branding.

64GB S6 also available.

Might not be the cheapest especially when JB HIFI had Galaxy S6 Edge 32GB for $599 (after $200 trade in and $200 discount coupon).

Only available at DSE Westfield Sydney store.

Dicks phoney prices are a pain in the a$$.

I was the other day and they are still selling galaxy note edge for $1249!!!

Oh Dick, i cant wait till they cut off your viagra supply and we get a massive clearance sale.

  • These are hardly deals considering Dick Smiths high pre discount prices.
    @Kogan
    Note 4 Edge 32GB is $659 + delivery
    S6 Edge 32GB is also $659 + delivery

Delivery is ~$35 to Perth so still comes in cheaper. None of the phones are branded or locked.

EDIT: Also includes free starter sim for Kogan

the deals aren't that great but you're comparing local vs grey import

      • I guess if you are that concerned about buying grey import then the Dick Smith "deals" might be the way to go.
IMO there is so little risk involved that the higher prices (Note Edge) are just not worth it. I haven't bought any phone locally for 8 years and dont plan on doing it any time soon either.

These phones are from Samsung. The company locks the phone with shxt knox and most of the phone cannot avoid being triggered (efuse blow out) once rooted or unlocked bootloader and this VOID the warranty of the phone.

If you are the ones who root their phone the first day when it comes in, you will not worry anything about local stock or grey import if the product is from Samsung. You lose the warranty from the day one. You cannot unroot the phone and pretend it was never rooted when seeking warranty as the damn knox efuse thing has triggered.

        • Yeah grey vs local isn't an issue it's price and convenience.

        • If you are the ones who root their phone the first day when it comes in

Buy a Nexus. Heck do that anyway if you want a secure phone.

  • Starting to get vaguely competitive but still not special considering other deals out there. As mentioned by the OP the JB trade-in deal blows the DS S6 out of the water. Get an edge for around $100 less (including cost of a $9 handset) no brainer really.

    • you cant do it now though?

Just checked you're right it expired the other week. Still wouldn't be going in on this "deal" considering the S7's upcoming release. It's a competitive price considering the current market (on non-grey stock) but still not much of a deal.

    • that expired a while back now.

And they'd still probably wonder why there business is going downhill…..

  • Anyone get their receivership sale email? Galaxy S6 was $50 more expensive than Officeworks every day price.

      what?

    • Which one?

    • Yes. Something about finding a buyer and bringing customers a new experience.

  • "30% off" yet still more expensive than their own prices during the eBay 20% off sale

  • +1

30% off RRP for a 1.5 years phone, too expensive for me.

  • So what happens when dickies goes under and there is an issue with the phone.

    • +1

Warranty directly through Samsung. You may need invoice as proof of purchase.

Dicksmith should sell all their inventory and start selling small scale electronics only! The way it use to be. Jaycar and element14 prices are too high. No effing TVs and laptops
