[FAKE] Free Finnish Tuna Sample @ Railway Square [SYD]

140

Hi all,

Noticed rather large tin sizes (61g drained weight) of Finnish Tuna being handed out at the end of the tunnel at Central Station (Railway Square just below the steps outside Priceline).

Enjoy!

Edit: Turns out the cake fish is a lie.

Thought about going there but figured it'd be finished straight away.

All this has made me hungary.

  • What's the % of tuna in the tin (what's the label say)
Greenseas and John West are around only 60% Safxol are 80%

    • According to the back of the label:

Purse seine caught skipjack tuna (Katsuworus pelamis) (65%), springwater, salt.

Aldi yellow fin tins are 74% & v.tasty, even without the added dolphin.

      • skipjack tuna is junk

      • without the added dolphin

Give me a call when they're up to 74% delicious dolphin…

    Purse seine caught?

No thanks! Line and pole only.

  • Has anyone opened a tin yet?
Just seen news clip and they might be just liquid inside

    • My tin is next to me but I already have lunch. You have made me ultra curious and now shaking the tin to determine the contents.

    • Ha! I got super hungry so I opened it up. DISAPPOINTED! No tuna, but plenty of water and message.

        Is the water any good?

        • Didn't try it. It didn't contain any info or nutritional facts to help me decide so I tossed it.

      • Is it by John West or by some environmental group?

The mods were just discussing this as we couldn't link the deal to a store as Google showed nothing for Finnish tuna.

        • It seemed to be a combination of John West and a couple environmental groups.

      • I would imagine a world without asshats.

        thanks.
        What a waste.
An environmental message that cost all the energy to make tins, ship water, print etc.

Explanation. It's from John West promoting sustainable fishing practices.

      • +1

saving fish by only having 65% fish in the tins normally.

    • Keep it for this year's company Kris Kringle.

  • A nut for a jar of tuna
