      Yup very olde skool, you can queue that simpsons episode before you goto bed & hope the modem doesn't drop before it finishes tomorrow arvo. But make sure you set it to download using Zmodem protocol, so you can restart if you're bloody flatmate does decide to pick up the phone, or turned call waiting on - idiot

    Since leaving Internode (and their free usenet) i have tried newsdemon, tweaknews, astraweb & usenet.farm

    i rate these guys as #1 of that lot.

    Any idea who their backbone provider is?

      They are their own Tier 1 provider for about 30 days or so then they look back to XSNews & Highwinds.

      I've actually been pretty impressed with the setup as a backup account and will probably switch to them when my XSNews account expires.

          No worries. XSNews are pretty solid and give much better completion rates compared to Astraweb and Highwinds. XSNews don't use automated DMCA processes.

          Usenet.farm giving you essentially 3 providers theoretically should give you the best completion chances possible.
