  • The comments regarding the phones' lock status in the links above show some ambiguity.
Some say they are locked, others say they are not locked, or that they are free to unlock on the chat.

    So can you confirm:
    1. are these handsets locked or unlocked?
    2. if they are locked, they are unlocked by chat request?

    Thanks

Agree, considering the 5s has got an awful battery and awkwardly small screen.

      • The small screen was specific …designed so it could be operated with 1 hand and reach any part of the screen with your thumb ….. I have a Samsung s5 but also appreciate ergonomics and design ….Even if I don't have the budget.

Be interesting if the 6se will be costed to be affordable to us android users

      • I couldn't go back from a 6plus sized display, but at the time the 4" display was fine. Also never had an issue with the battery life of mine, would get me through most days with plenty to spare.

        • Not for me it wasn't. I sold mine and went back to Android because of screen size.

      …and people still buy them.

Not only buy but love them and forced Apple to redesign 6se.

        • nothing to do with loving them, its to do with the pricing of the new phones.. it's made the fringe and some other light users look elsewhere so this is to give them a viable cheaper alternative upgrade path… :)

My 2cents, still not a bad deal for someone who needs a mobile to get into the iOS environment at a cheaper entry point and doesn't want to buy second hand.

I bought one of these for my niece with the previous $499 deal at JB HIFI and confirm the phone is unlocked, just have to contact Telstra's unlocking team to do it, there is no unlocking fee. Plus, a $30 Telstra sim starter kit was included with the mobile, so if you factor this in, it's not a bad deal for the mobile itself at $446.10.

      $466.10 - No-one buys a $30 starter pack at full price :)

      • Agreed, but think about the included calls, data, etc for the first month, especially if you select the Freedom Plus plan. Something better than nothing. But def more attractive than buying from Kogan for $509, which is a grey import without the sim starter kit.

It's an ok phone still but I'd wait and see what happens with the iPhone 5se that's due to be announced and likely ship in March. While that will likely cost more, there might be some price drops elsewhere in the family or a push for Telstra and others to offload old stock.

      • Apple decides to go back 5 instead of 7?…. Set a bad example for kids to learn numerical sequence when 5se is newer than 6s.

        • It's the lower end device set to fill the shoes of the 5c. For the "7", it makes sense to launch the lineup with flagship devices, not ones that are lower end than the 6's already out there. I guess they could slot it in the "6" lineup, but there's probably a case for using "5" to not dilute the current flagship lineups branding.

I guess we'll find out in a month, but I don't think we'll see any "7" devices until around September.

  • Not worth if comes with iOS9

  • How do I get the $476.10 price? when I click on the deal, it shows $529.
