    dodgy as flap

not only have you NOT filled in your whois properly, you've just left the default netregistry technical contacts there too….

    • How is this Dodgy Makoto?
These are our actual contact details.
Our registrant details are correct as per below. Net Registry overrides our tech contacts with their own.

      Here is the whois extract.

      Status ok
Registrar Name TPP Wholesale Pty Ltd

    • And YES we do register our domains with the wholesale arm of Netregistry, and have been for our last 10 YEARS of operations.

      • -1

if you are so smart who the frig is Dominic Main, your technical contact at your company?

you dont even know how to fill in a whois profile

ill give you a clue. when people are too stupid and they dont fill in their whois properly, they add DOMINIC MAIN (DOMAIN NAME)… get it?

you should probably resolve them issues before trying to sell your services

        • Netregistry has fixed the issue and the tech contact has now been updated

  • I have contacted Net Registry to rectify this issue, as we filled in the tech contact with our support department details when registering, and it has since been replaced with the Dominic Main info

    • wheres your business ABN on the website?

      • It should be in the footer?

wonder how warrick capper website went for you? lol

your personal site looks like garbage, http://webgate.net.au
just another poor excuse for a backyard operation

  • +2

Backyard operation? We host over 500 domains for many businesses around Australia

The sites you have mentioned are old domains that were never used

  • And for your information, we have over 50 servers, so are by no means a small operation

    • Physical or virtual?

      • We have our own physical servers, running different virtual server systems on top, depending on the clients requirements. We also have cloud servers from leading IAAS providers including AWS, IBM Softlayer and Microsoft Azure available as managed services

    • +1

You stated you have over 500 domains - meaning a number likely close to that - otherwise you'd say "we have over 5000 domains" —- why is this distributed by over 50+ servers? You load balancing makes very little sense…. 10domains average per server?

      • The reason we have so few domains over such a large number of servers is two-fold.

        1. We use Plesk Automation and Odin business Automation, which provide multi server hosting meaning that for Plesk Automation we have database servers, mail servers, DNS servers, Apache servers, internal backup servers and the management server, with each reseller having their own Apache server. Add to this the business Automation servers and and this accounts for over half the servers. We also have off site back servers that back up the entire system daily.

        2. We provide dedicated server and VPS hosting, which clients use for application hosting and development servers. We do not count domains on these servers as they are majority self managed

        • +1

with each reseller having their own Apache server
I don't even….. why would you run individual Apache servers per reseller?

How many VMs are you running total? On what platform architecture? Spec?

        • @jomojomo: our resellers actually requested dedicated nodes at it gives them the confidence of dedicated hosting resources within the multi-server platform.

We are running Xen, VMWare and Parallels cloud server VMs for our linux and UNIX VMs and Hyper-V for our windows VMs

        • @aussiehosting: Interesting. What spec are your physical servers?

        • @jomojomo: we have a range of specs available and used from single processor, 4 core, 4GB RAM, 500GB disk with 100Mbps public and private ports, through to multi processor, 16 core, 128GB RAM 8x2TB disk with multiple redundant Gigabit private and public ports

  • if you are so sure we are dodgy, which we are not, then sign up for a free trial and see for yourself

  • +2

I believe it's law in Australia that prices have to be shown inclusive of GST.

    • We sell in multiple countries and markets, even though all our servers and staff are local, so the applicable tax rate for the country of the client is applied in the checkout.

  • you just have to look at your previous "deals" you've spammed on ozbargain and screwed people with

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/212769

one for example here, where most people didn't receive anything and had to lodge paypal disputes.

The site you use to push them crappy goods has an invalid SSL certificate, hardly something good that a web host can't even fix an SSL certificate for their store.

    Product never showed!
Paid and never received the product. Also never got a reply back to my queries. Probably best to just go buy from a reliable retail store

    Where are my goods ?
Ordered the Ifrogz ear buds 14 days ago. Money went out of Paypal pretty quickly, 3-5 days delivery according to the website. Emailed about them and still not heard anything. So I think this is very poor, I am very close to log a dispute with Paypal.

    ??????
Hard to review item that hasn't been received and seller refuses to acknowledge emails. Items sent from China have arrived quicker than these items supposedly located in the same state as me.???

    • That deal was for a client's web site.

The client mismanaged the whole deal, failed to renew their SSL, and no longer uses the site as far as I'm aware.

We have since followed up all the reviews to ensure all the orders were either delivered or refunded

      • so you posted the advertisement on here as a bargain to get some business, then just leave it when it all goes to hell and no one gets anything?

just blame your customer, who didnt advertise on ozbargain… haha

        great business model

        • Everyone either got their items or a full refund.

We posted to help them launch the site and get some business going, but as you can see, once it became apparent that they couldn't handle the order volume they were getting, we stopped posting for them, and stepped in to ensure refunds were given when necessary

  • Add I have said, if you are sure we are a scam, take me up on my offer of free hosting and see for yourself, or call the number on our website and talk to one of our staff.

  • Or, you could just do a reverse IP lookup on any of our server IPs and see the hundreds of websites we are currently hosting, both directly and through our resellers
