      • SOHO-grade and above NAS usually do, yes. Most cheap home ones do not. And if they do, they usually say its 'cloud connected' etc.

  • What are people's thought on this one:

Seagate 4 Bays Business NAS Pro (STDE300 Diskless)

Cheap @ $249 and it seems to tick most boxes for a basic 4 bay NAS

  • Got the Seagate 6 Bays NAS Pro, can't beat it for the price. 6 bay NAS options are more than double this price and it has very good specs & performance.

  • I have received the hard drive today and tried the connection to my router, but failed to connect even though in my windows explorer has the drive. It is said that service in unavailable. Can anybody advise if it is compatible with Windows 10 ?
    Thanks

    • Are you talking about Seagate Personal Cloud?

      • Yes, I am. Been trying everything, but still not able to connect.

        • Are you able to access the files inside the Public folder? If not, try this:

Go to seagate-4365ec.local in your browser (replace "4365ec" with the one on your device), skip the getting started, go to Settings > Advanced >Firmware Update and click 'Update now'. At least this is what worked for me. After this, the device should appear in your network as a drive.

        • @sridhar: Wow, it works ! Thanks, Mate

        • @yht:

          You are welcome.

I struggled with this half a day myself before figuring this out.
