  • Remember officeworks price match.

    • +2

It is cheaper there at Officeworks but finding stock is a challenge. There is no need for Officeworks to pricematch.

      • I doubt if any of the Officeworks stores actually has stock of these. You can't buy them online. I would be interested if anyone tracks down a pair.

    • Just checked they are already cheaper for QC25 but do not have QC20

  • Been tempted to get a pair of QC20…. any android ones in black?

    • Not online, but you could try brick stores?

    • Just be aware that the battery is non replaceable. That is why I've hesitated to buy these.

      • Whoa.. i didn't even think about that?! My reasoning was i figured they would be more comfortable etc flying.

I think Bose could sell a shed load of these if they had a replacement battery policy like Apple does. I'd be happy to pay $90 every three years or so.

        • I do recall reading comments on amazon about good customer care/warranty support. Not sure if it translates to here though.

  • I've only used the QC25's. Are the in-ear QC20's as effective?

    • If you are in Melbourne you can go to the Bose store in the Emporium and try them out. They seem to be very good.

    • From what i have read they almost as effective. Small trade off for saving a lot of space, but still much better than competition offerings.

    • They're effective enough. They won't block out all background noise, but they do a great job. It's all personal preference really!

    • I actually have both. I caved during christmas sales :p

Personally the QC25s are better, even for flying. However, it's a bit awkward for me to sit them around my neck to talk to people. The QC20s are good for that because you have audio pass through. It's not the best, but at least you have a better shot at hear them :) If that doesn't bother you, you've already got what you need. Oh, and the battery for the QC20 is super awkward.

      • I have had a couple of the QC's, and since going to the 20s never regretted the change. Never found the battery awkward, in fact most of the time I never notice it. They are also easier if you are trying to get rest/sleep, not possible for many with the over ear types.

  • Torn between buying the Triple Blacks at Myer for $319 which may take days for click & collect or postage, and the standard from Sydney HiFi for $335 with good service and immediate pickup, preferring my money to go to a small business (authorised dealer) for the sake of $15. Also need full tax invoice to claim back the GST at airport. if only Myer did Cashrewards.

The only OW stores I can find with potential stock are Melb.

    • Myer one card/points?

      • Yep that's all we can get I suppose.

I still wonder about preferring the small business.

        • That's a personal/subjective decision as oppose to a calculated/monetary one. Good luck.

    • Oh nvm, found it!

    • Myer don't take days for click and collect, isn't it order by noon available same day??

      • Well its been 24 hrs so far and they're not ready…

  • What is the diff between this model for "Android" and for "Apple"?

    • +1

The remote/mic built in to the cable has controls on it, and they're designed for one or the other (eg skip tracks, answering calls).

      • Thx mate, i never used Bose before, would like to start with the Q25. :) Does it mean if I buy the model for "Apple" that I can not use it on an "Android"?

        • +1

It'll work for noise and listening but maybe the controls won't work for track skipping, only one way to find out.

        • @sheikyerbouti:

          Thanks, mate!

  • has anyone got the sound touch 520? The price seems to be cheapest so far. Just not sure if now is the good time to get it. sucks that ive missed the free gift promo :(

  • I went to the Bose Store at Indooroopilly, Brisbane. Last time they told me they can do the price matching. So I show them the price from Myer $319.20. Their staff told me, the best they can do is $339.

I said sorry, what is the price. The guy just repeat what he just said and left.

So guys, if you really want to save some money, just went to the myer.

    • Yeah, I had a similar expericence with a Bose store. That was the price they quoted me as well. The only advantage is they have the return policy if you don't like the earphones.

  • Thanks OP! Finally managed to grab a pair of the QC20s (had the QC25s before and wanted something a bit smaller)

  • Thanks for the tip, I purchased some. I've been watching these for about a year now, this is the best deal from a retailer I trust. BoomBeats has them at $300, but by all reports you can't trust them at all.

    Appreciate the time.

  • Thanks - went to my local Myer store on Saturday and purchased a pair of QC25s for my upcoming holiday.
