how did you get the manual link? the standard way doesnt seem to work with my amex essential credit card?

      • how to register the offer for the essential card using the standard webpage? or not eligible for essential card?

only the manual link works for me :(

    • +18

      Yeah. Give it a go.

    • let us know afterwards

        • +5

It's for David Jones so the reason you're being negged is it's pretty obvious this isn't going to work in a supermarket?

        • +4

I find that these kind of questions are better to be answered by your own testing - And when you know the answer, you probably want to keep it discreet anyway for a very good reason!

@skian: Myer sells Coles Myer giftcards. It's not that far-fetched.

        • +2

@Marlboro Man: the only gift cards DJ's sell online are their own and this is an online only deal

        • +2

          @skian:
actually some gift cards have eftpos on them, like westfields gift cards, these can be used in places outside of westfields that accept eftpos, I've used westfield cards in ikea

        • +2

When did your original question say anything about gift cards. you just said "Can they be used in any supermarket". I thought you meant if David Jones was a supermarket.

        • +1

          @skian:
"It's for David Jones so the reason you're being negged is it's pretty obvious this isn't going to work in a supermarket?"

That's what I thought but then I read this quality article at news.com.au where it says :
"It wasn’t as ambitious as Labor’s proposal — if NBNs were supermarkets, the Coalition’s plan was more Aldi than David Jones — but it promised the vast majority of Australians fast internet speeds in a quicker time frame than Labor and for less money."

@jdr: news.com.au is full of quality supermarket articles

Thanks - able to register twice! on my Amex credit card and separately on my husband's Amex Charge Card..

  • Thanks op.

So, do you think they were on to the $200 gift card / free delivery last time that now it's $75 so you have to buy something extra anyway to qualify?

    • +1

You can probably still buy $100 gift card + something small to qualify for the free delivery but the discount will be reduced to just less than 15% rather than 20% discount on paper. I have registered but will probably wait for the next AMEX offer to come along unless I need to purchase a big ticket item unexpectedly within the next few weeks.

  • I signed up for an AMEX issued card, but now AmexConnect (this site where offers come through) is different!

I can't see my old Bank Issued AMEX listed and when i try to sign up for an offer, links me to the bank page of my AMEX card, where the offer doesn't even show under "offers available for XXXX card".

    Anyone else?

    • +1

Happened to me last time. Amex had to delink my bank issued cards from the email address and I had to reregister them under a different email address.

      • Oooh!
        Thanks!

I'll email them through the contact page!

        • Also happened to me. Then was told by AmEX that I would have to contact he banks individually to get them delinked from the account and they couldnt do it on their end. Eventually I was able to email the AmEx Connect Dept. and they did it, literally took around a month for them to finally do it after I sent the email though. In the meantime you can still enrol in the offers using the manual link. Although they won't appear anywhere you still get the emails and credit statements.

  • this is the best credit card I ever signed up for tbh I am a Amex Platinum card member and they give these offers which no other cards provide.
I did the Woolies shopping offer where you spend $100 and get back $20.. how good is that!
Kudos to OP for the post

  • Online only! Keep that in mind!

David Jones is not selling any electronic stuff now with DSE crashed. Don't buy their gift cards thinking you can get an ipad, galaxy or laptops soon.

    • +2

That's true. A staff member did say they are currently working on this space and hopefully it won't be too long before the electronic department is re-opened again.

  • Thank you :)

  • somehow not in the qantas discovery offer but only in bank issued cards :(

  • +2

Thanks for posting the offer. That finally pushed me over the fence to purchase the stuff that has been sitting in the cart.

Also, don't forget about cashrewards: https://www.cashrewards.com.au/go/david-jones-M

Any bargains? Does DJ online sell anything that, after $15 credit, is the best price for that product?

  • Does David jones have Swarovski stuff?

    • +3

not online, but what you could do is spend $75 on the dot and get the $15 credit, then go instore and refund onto a giftcard, then buy that swarovski thing

      • That is so diabolical!

      • Or just buy a gift card online and go in store?

      • Have done this before and can confirm it works

    • +1

      No, not even in store.

      Source: I work for them

  • Online only …. If instore as well would be nice

  • Does this work for the egift cards?
    https://www.davidjones.com.au/egiftcards
Can I buy it and use it at shop?

    • C. Eligible Transactions

Thanks. So purchasing gift cards from Dan Murphy works but unfortunately not from DJ…

        • Thanks yasui, ur mean u brought the DJ gift card online but didn't receive AMEX statement credit?

        • @Purple:

No I haven't tried it yet. Has anybody tried it?

        • +1

@yasui: physical dJ cards usually process in normal DJ cart. e cards process in non dJ cart. Dan Murphy e cards process in normal Dan cart. Woolworths gift cards process in non woolworths cart.

DJ physical cards have received credit for me. Apparently if you but a $1 item to your card, you will get free shipping rather than the $5 fee dJ charges.

I would say you get the rebate if it processes in the cart linked to the website linked to the amex offer.

        • @grasstown: u purchased 75$ physical gift card online and added $1 item to ur cart for free delievry and got $15 credit back for this offer already?

        • @akanie: this offer I just did a normal buy, in past when I've bought physical gift cards I've always paid the delivery fee. Previous offers were for bigger spends and bigger credits

        • @akanie: How did you buy $75 gift card. I can't see any option for $75 gift card though?

Edit: found it. one $25 plus one $50

        • @akanie: I added a $1 item but it still charges me for $10 delivery fee. Can you share which $1 you got?

        • @kobyyu: i havent tried myself with this offer, was just asking grasstown about it but he didnt buy gift card.

i bought physical gift card with previous deal and added an item to my cart for free shipping.

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/218987

        • I think this may explain it.
The previous gift card spend was over $100.

  • Anything worth buying to make the order free delivery?

  • Has anyone recieved thier statement credit for purchasing gift cards through this deal?
