  • Seems way too good to be true… They probably meant to print it as $169 :S I sure hope not though.

    • Yeah … no way.

can't seem to find it on the site anymore?

  • Where is it shown in JB? I've searched and browsed under the mouse section. Other than that if this really is true I'm sold :)

  • Impossible. Gonna be a long queue at JB tomorrow :P

    • I think most are out of stock :(

Looks like 2 guys on WP managed to get it - http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1410612 - but apparently it's only the G9x (not refresh). Does anyone know the difference between the G9x and G9x refresh? I didn't even know that there was a refreshed version of the G9x (since it's already a refreshed G9).

    • dunno what the difference, I was thinking refresh meant it was reconditioned or something… who knows these things..

  • got mine today in Brisbane CBD (the one near BigW), they overrided the price to $69, it scanned at $169. No idea if it is the mark 1 or 2 mentioned above. They had about 4 left.

    Its an excellent mouse.

  • Great Bargain. Took a while to get JB to accept that this was the price - but got it at Gepps Cross today. None left there!!

  • yeah, this is real deal as I got one at $69. But it depends on your luck as I said in WP. You have to go through different stores to search for the right version with a tag of $199.

  • I got mine at Parramatta NSW, and then I checked North Ryde and Chatswood, but none of them sell this in store.

  • is this wireless or wired?

    • wired

  • Oh, I haven't opened it yet, I am thinking maybe a gift for my friend.

just came back from liverpool jb disappointed. The bs they gave was apparently there are 2 versions. Mark1 and mark2. They wouldn't sell the current model in stock for $69 (2 on the shelf, scanned for $169)

  • hey iadelaide do you know if they have any left at parra?

    • I am not sure if they have any at the back. By the time I got mine, there were only two left on the shelf, the other one marked as $169 scaned as same price. I asked the staff for another one and he said that is the only one left. But I doubted about that as they might hide some to avoid the really low price. You can try, but I suggest you call them first.

Just picked one up from my local JB in Indooroopilly QLD for $69.
The staff there checked it on their website and confirmed its correct and sold it to me for $69.
    Thanks bentan77 for the post.

  • Got one from Westfield Doncaster. There were 3 available. One with the $69 sticker and two with $169. The guy refuse to drop the price with the two other but he gave me the one with the $69 which looks the same but the box is slightly damaged.

I believe refresh mean opened box.

    • I think they cannot personally drop the price, if it scans at $69, sure you can get it at $69. If system shows $169, there is nothing they can do.

    • Refresh is a Logitech term for a revision of a product without changing the model.

      • isnt the refresh just going from g9 to g9x (ie adding the x on the end), or am i that out of the loop and they actually made a refresh on the g9x?

    • Just got two (my friend any I) at JBhifi at the corner of springvale rd and whitehorse road!
labelled $169, two on shelf, brand new, i told the salesman they are $69.
He was stuned. and asked me to show him on their jbhifi website to confirm. I showed him.
He called in the manager and the manager overrided the price from 169 to 69 without asking anything. but when i asked for more stock, he said none left without checking ( which I would expect :) ).
      Very happy
      great post!!!

  • None in W.A.

  • There's still 5 in stock at Eastgardens JB NSW. Check on the boxes underneath the PC games section to find 1 more there

  • got 1 :D yay

  • There's none on the Gold Coast but I got a price match at Domayne though.
I saw 2 models, one model doesn't have a Windows 7 logo and has a "Swiss Technology" symbol on the front, other then that they look same.

  • Great price. Good mouse. Was contemplating buying it just to stick it to a mate who keeps raving about it and bought the same mouse from JB a week ago at $169 lol.

FYI for those near Sydney CDB as of today 27/03/2010:
JB Victoria Galleries has 1 on a very high top shelf out of reach (maybe staff put it there on purpose ?) yellow sticker looks like it says $69.
JB Pitt St Mall has 1 on shelf white sticker $169
JB World Square has 2 on shelf white sticker $169

Didn't ask if they had any stock in back, I was afraid if I did I would give in to temptation and buy it. (Also checked out other computer shops around the area and couldn't find anywhere that sold it under $100)

  • Wasn't wanting one, but was Camberwell VIC and thought I might ask anyway, they only had 1 left, marked at $169, then I told the guy I saw it on the website for $69, then he goes on about how the prices are different when you buy it online, blah blah blah… got him to scan and check, price came up at $169 (at least that's what he told me). Gheez I hate JB staff.

  • Got mine at the Brisbane Queen St Mall shop for 69 - i went up to the guy to check the cost, he did give me the same story about cost and wasnt able to find it on the system. i got him to check the jbhifi website and he did it, he was surpised they are selling it for so much though conisdering its $40 under coast apprently

there where 4 left however all tagged with the normal rrp

  • I went there today but someone had already bought all the g9x's in the morning at Belconnen in Canberra a store clerk told me :( oh well.

    • Crankyted and anyone else in Canberra who still wants one of these,

As at 2pm Wed 7 April, the Canberra Centre store had 2 on the shelf in the games section, priced at $169. Go in store armed with printout of the JB website and they'll drop the price to $69 (that's what I did a week and a half ago) - but speak to the guy that works in that (games) section of the store.

They have obviously restocked. When I got mine, there was only one on the shelf and the box was 'damaged in transit', so 'discounted' to $159 from $169. I got the guy to drop price to $69 as per website, and then also asked him to drop to $59 for the damaged box, which he did, although he did say 'only this time' lol.

Note: the JB website says on sale until 19 April or until sold out, in case they try to brush you off.
If they try to give you crap about they don't match the JBOnline store, tell them this listing isn't on the JBOnline store, but rather a straight listing on their website, so they must honour it. The sales guy that served me had no issues with this, its just the jerks at the counter who try to be difficult.

  • Apparently the $69 is for the Mark 1 version of the G9X while the ones priced at $169 are the Mark 2 version. Most are out of stock in Sydney but Brisbane and Melbourne should have a few in stock from what I saw on their PDA-lookalikes

    • The website clearly states REFRESH. The mark 2 is the refresh of the mark 1… alternatively, both versions are a refresh of the original G9. If they don't state it specifically in the ad, and they refuse to even update it, then they should sell either one at $69.

  • I bought the last one at MacAuthor central brisbane :)

    $69

  • just updated the firmware on mine :)

    • The firmware that came with the mouse is 58.11 and I believe this is the latest.

  • Sweet deal thanks!!.. got the last two at Moorepark. They said it was a mistake on the website, should be $169 (tag @ $189). The staff asked his manager which then agrees to give me only one for $69. Took it to the register and it scans at $69 anyway, so they had to choice but to give me both at that price.. :)

Anyway, for those that bought, what color is your precision grip?? Mine is silver.. :( I want the black version. WTF WTF why silver!!

    • Bah, I bought mine three weeks ago for $90. I knew I should have been a little more patient!

  • I just bought the last G9x that is marked $69 from Macgregor Store QLD, there is another one that is priced at $169 on the shelf. I checked with the staff, that one will NOT be sold at $69. :p

I was there with that staff, looking at the G9x, wondering why the price is different, we can't spot any difference from the package, both looks identical.

Just an idea, has anyone tried price match at Officeworks?

    • where was it in the store, i was there at 10am and didnt see it.

      • It's behind the wii games aisle, where they kept all those gaming stuff.

  • hahahahahah - I just told them to sell it to me at $69, and then showed them the website, and they gave it to me.

It scanned at $169 (like the tag on the box), so they corrected the price.

my grips are silver for smooth one and black for the precision grip one.

    CHEERS poster :)

    • ha.. I'll force them to sell me another one then.

  • I got mine for 60 at the strand, pitt st Sydney. Reason being damaged box. Btw it should only be mark 1 on special, but some stores are giving away mark 2 by accident. So consider yourselves lucky if you got the mark 1.

    Once again, thanks OP.

      • Oops, I meant consider yourself lucky if you get mark 2.
  • Even though i dont need a mouse, i bought one at JB today for $69. There were 5 left on the shelf with the white $199 price tag (no yellow sticker that said $69 though).

Lucky it did scan up at the correct price of $69 ( as i was ready for a fight if it didn't :P *jk ).

    Thanks poster.

  • awww i'm just in need of a new mouse. checked the online store but its $299!! hope they got the sale on in-store!

    • Logitech's (ridiculous as usual) RRP is $199.95. They also have a Razer mouse on there for like $399… Pretty sure its a mistake. Their online store is shocking.

  • How can they say its only the G9x thats on sale, and not the mark2/version2 aka "REFRESHED" model when it clearly states "PC LOGITECH G9X LASER MOUSE !!REFRESH!! $69.00"…

If its a mistake, or it is confusing customers (making them come into the store) then it is indeed false/misleading advertising, and it should not take them days to remove it from the website. Takes ten minutes to email/phone the webdev "please remove this line".

  • Just picked up 1, which is the gaming grade one they have advertised for $169. Going to pick up another later this afternoon, which is the other one they have advertised for $199.

Apparently they have different SKU's.. the more expensive one is on sale.

EDIT : just picked up the 2nd one, and there is only a slight difference in packing on the underside of the box. All else looks the same.

    Pic of the 2 Here

    Good spotting! - thanks OP

  • can't find stock anywhere in VIC….anyone know where i can pick one up from?

  • I managed to pick one up from Chatstone JB earlier
I think it might of been the last one

    !! Good Luck !!

  • Just retuned from JB in Narre Warren/Fountain Gate…couldnt find any G9x but they are clearing out the original G9 at $49….Theres prob 2-3 ATM…They were also clearing out G5 but they were $59 heaps of stock

  • I popped into the JB at Logan Hyperdome Brissy and they had one on the shelf. That was last friday though might still be there.

  • I emailed Logitech a couple days ago about the differences with the refresh model and this was their response

About your concern the G9x and G9x refresh are basically the same but with a different packaging. Also the G9x mouse which has a 5000 dpi can achieve the 5700 dpi upon the installation of the software.
    • Wow, 5700 dpi.

One twitch of your hand and the cursor is on the other side of the screen.

  • I went to JB in the city in Sydney, they didnt have any stock so they ordered me a mouse and sold it to me for $69 a couple of days later when it came in. Great deal!!!
