    +1 for effort.

If you write that I'm sure a mod will edit it in…

If the original poster took 5 minutes to copy & paste in the first sentence description for each app, then it would save those of us who don't recognise the app by name alone 10 minutes clicking on the links and reading.

Re - Feed Baby Pro - Baby Tracker

Has anyone used any of these baby apps? There seems to be a few of them that are hyped up and have good reviews.
We have a bub on the way and the last thing I can possibly think of wanting to do being a first time parent is whipping out my phone at 2am to record a feed or how many times the bub has cacked it's pants on a daily basis.

Do these kind of apps provide any value? My parents didn't even have enough money to put fuel in their car some weeks when I was a baby, let alone own a smart phone and I (think???) I turned out ok!

Short answer - yes, these apps are very useful. This one in particular is very good.

Longer answer - congratulations on the impending arrival of bub. You and your partner will face a few challenges in the first few weeks / months of your baby's life (ours is 7 months' old, btw). You will be heavily sleep deprived. When your baby cries, you'll try to work out what is wrong. Is it hungry? How do you know? The next question is - when did you last feed it? If you can remember, consistently, in the haze of sleep deprivation, you are doing really well.

Your child will get older. Feeding will become harder because it will be easily distracted. If you are not the feeding parent, you will have to make yourself scarce. How do you know whether the feed is over?

You will be concerned about whether your baby is sleeping enough. Whether it is feeding often enough. This app helps with all of that. How do you know if your kid is drinking enough? They should have 6-8 pale wet nappies a day. How will you record that?

We had to visit the Royal Children's Hospital. The doctors there were very grateful we had the data we had to help them diagnose things.

My wife and I each have the app on our phones, and the data remains synchronised. It is probably one of the more used apps on my phone (after email, browser etc.), which probably says something about my life right now.

To my mind, it is a no brainer for 0.99c. The app also gets new features reasonably frequently - we got to track medicines just when we needed it (even though that functionality wasn't there 12 months ago).

Sorry about the long post, but I hope it helps.

    • Yep, we used this and have referred to friends. Well worth it at full price.

    • Some things you will learn when bub arrives
      - last thing I can possibly think a first time parent can remember is that bub last fed at 2am or it last cacked their pants and got a nappy change 6 hours ago (and that's why it's crying)
      - never settle down for feeding or settling without your phone/tablet within reach, it is boooooring

Even as the sole user, the device sync is awesome because sometimes you're trapped in the bedroom while your phone is in the lounge but hey you've got your tablet.

Edit: Ha! Just used the app. Bub cried, partner asked when bub is due for a feed and I check my Last Feed widget. And that's why I'm still sitting here commenting and they're up.

  • Any games at 99c???

    • List is just up there, take a look.

      • Yeah mate I looked at the list and it was apps only…

  • Cool! I've had my eye on 'Weather & Clock Widget Ad Free' for a while now.

  • Can anyone comment on Weather & Clock vs Weatherzone Plus?

    • I have no experience with Weather & Clock, but I find that the Weatherzone Plus app and widget are awesome! I've been using them for a number of months now.

Edit: Plus, Weatherzone source their data from the BOM
