Well that's why I asked for both, really its whichever is cheapest because, like you said, I'm perfectly happy to do HK+ferry.
Far cheaper to fly to HK and take the ferry from HK Airport to Macau.

@nuggy: There are always plenty of deals to HK. Watch out for the CX and Qantas deals. If you fly during the low season, you can easily get there and back in cattle class for under $700.

Erm, Cathay is HK's flag carrier and HK is their hub…so all regional flights route through there.
dont have any check in luggage and bail in hk. easy.
And then find yourself stuck in HK because they cancelled the entire remainder of your ticket…
