Someone call Ted and ask him why he doesn't list any Sony Full Frame Lenses on eBay?
eBay/PayPal are paying the discount not Ted

  • That's a good price and indeed cheapest around…Do I need another camera…That's the question.

  • I'd love a deal on the A7s, that lowlight video is amazing…

Best to wait for the Sony Cashback deal.

    • will the camera be even cheaper with the cashback deal?

      • +2

I got mine on Ebay last December with 10% discount. Got it from VideoPro Ebay store.

        Price = $1873
        Less 10% = $1686
        After $200 cashback = $1486
        Less 3% CR on full price ($56) = $1430

        • i thought the cashback deal expired in last sep/oct.

        • @alwayseric:

There was two cash back promotions in 2015.

I was notice @windows7 deals as well, but I didn't realize that VideoPro has retail stores, cause I don't like to purchase cameras from online only sellers.

          Regretting……

Actually, it is even around $50 cheaper in Sony Ebay Store. It is marked as "seconds", but it is highly likely to be a brand new one, because Sony has the agreement with reseller that Sony cannot provide a price better than reseller. So Sony use the 'seconds' mark.

  • Waiting for Pentax K-1 (maybe around $2500 when launched, at the moment preorder is sitting at $2800)
Any expert suggestion please….? Which is better ?

I just bit the bullet on a Nikon D750 body - just shy of $1930 delivered with this deal.

I know all you kids love your new-fangled mirrorless kit, but there's something reassuring about a DLSR shutter 'clunk' to me.

And get the hell off my lawn ;-)

    • I have an A7 and the shutter clunks too? I think?

I thought the mechanism was different with mirrorless?

Anyway, they also feel too small (to me, obviously). Plus I have money invested in Nikon mount glass.

Still, if I was starting now, I'd be all over a mirrorless setup. This is an amazing body for $1600ish!

I am pretty certain it does, got a YouTube shutter sound comparison between A7s and A7 mark 2 here too

And yes, I agreed, when I first switch from Canon 6D to A7, I felt something was missing. And "feel" is the exact thing that gone missed. You missed the chunky camera body that you hold firmly and somehow you slightly lost that artistic sense. It's a bit like you are going for a serious drive (or even race), but instead of wearing a shoe, you see yourself wearing thong. You don't feel ready and in the zone. And for those people who already invest a ton in lens, it will be extremely difficult to make the switch regardless how good A7 is and it's also why many people don't even bother look at A7 beside its mirrorless quirkiness.

HOWEVER, if you aren't a professional photographer who can tell every sand size detail of each every imaginary and you are in a position to switch or shop a new camera without many lens to sacrifice, you have to give A7 a go. It might be small, but by no mean it's any less than the conventional DSLR. It provides convenience in both physical size and software that no traditional DSLR can give. And the imagine quality is superb (I did not say it's the best), unless you are a pro or expert, for average consumer or dare I said even enthusiast, the pluses will easily make up the minus.

Yes, lens availability is very limited at the beginning not to mention how expensive those Zeiss lenses are, but those ones that do exist, man, they (many Zeiss ones) are GREAT lenses. And they have better lens coverage now too.

You wont be disappointed its an amazing camera, much better than the A7II. Plus it is still quite small for a DSLR.

      • I will definitely not say A7 is a outright better camera than D750, but I will also definitely not say D750 is a much better camera than A7II so easily. There are a lot of pros and cons between the two. And very often it could just end up with preference matter instead of outright better or worse

        • I feel like if this conversation was between the D750 and the A7RII it would be a fairer comparison. But each to their own, I totally get the appeal and I myself just made the switch from mirror-less to DSLR.

  • Hey I ordered a camera from Ted's on the 11th via Ebay and it's still listed as unposted on ebay. Anyone else had their order posted or not? They probably had quite a few orders I imagine.

  • ted's has changed the price to $2099 (before discount)
