G1W-CB 1080p Black Stealth Capacitor Dashcam - USD $40.59 (~AUD $54.44) Shipped from everbuying.net

3121

Refer to my previous deal on the BlueSkySea version. These have basically become the unofficial standard for budget DashCams. Featuring an all-black stealth look so they're not as obvious to surrounding drivers (especially when rear mounted!) plus a capacitor instead of a battery these are great little DashCams and as long as you use a Samsung EVO MicroSD Card and follow the config below you will enjoy solid hassle-free performance. Buy one and cover the road ahead or buy two and cover the action ahead & behind! The cameras come with Power Supplies and Suction Cup mounts however there are loads of different solutions for wiring these up permanently and neatly so you wont even know they're there! Refer to my front & rear install pics from the previous deal. I have personally bought dozens & dozens of these (some plain, others 'BlueSkySea' branded) and have fitted them in cars for friends & family and have never had a DOA or a faulty unit and most have been in use for many many months now. Fingers crossed these will be the same :) Can't recommend them enough.

Note: These cams appear as $54.44 on the product link however if you've never shopped with 'EverBuying' before and register then confirm your email address & update your Avatar then you get a credit of 120 points. This is the equivalent of $3.22 so follow the instructions to claim those points to bring the price down to $51.22. As a new user you also get a 10%-off Coupon however it will only work with the original price so you'll end up paying more so best not to apply that for this purchase. Also, please be aware that paying via PayPal bumps that lower price back up to $53.13. Not sure why but I assume it's their OS currency fee and this may also happen with Credit Card payments. All very confusing but all in all these are still the cheapest I could find right now. The next closest is another $6 or more from an eBay seller. As per all Chinese sourced products please be patient as these will most likely take 3-4+ weeks to arrive.

Associated accessories (personally used & recommended!):

Best 'Hassle-Free' Config (personally used & recommended!):

1st Menu
Resolution - 1080FHD (lower res offers longer recording time but blurry footage)
Loop Recording - 3 Minutes (each to their own but smaller files are more stable)
WDR - On (close to pointless but slightly enhances low light recording)
Exposure - +0.0 (default but feel free to experiment with this)
Motion Detection - Off (can fill up your card with locked files when switched on)
Record Audio - On (up to you but may be handy to record indicator & horn sounds etc.)
Date Stamp - On (advisable)
Gsensor - Off (can fill up your card with locked files when switched on)

2nd Menu
Date/Time - Must change format to YY/MM/DD before setting date! Change back once set. May not stick first few times but check back and re-set after regular use.
Beep Sound - Off (can get annoying as makes sounds during bootup/shutdown)
Language - English
TV Mode - PAL (menu exits after setting this. Press ‘M’ twice to re-enter menu)
Frequency - 50 Hz
Screen Saver - 3 Minutes (best set short to avoid the distraction)
IR LED - Off (white LED on this model so this feature is pointless)
Car Plate - Use up/down arrows to scroll characters and ’M’ to progress. Press REC when finished to save data.
Format - Formats SD Card (not critical but good to do this every now & then)
Default Setting - Reverts to default settings if required. Not ideal.
Version - Software version Info.

Enjoy!

  • I had a dashcam before but the suction cup keeps falling off after a year so I stopped using it. It was one of the pretty good ones from ebay (1080 at least), will this do the same thing?

  • What's the deal with people with dashcam these days? 5 years ago, nobody used it! Now it's just everywhere! But seriously do you really get into that much troubles on the road to warrant constant recording on dashcam?

    • I personally think dashcams are worth the trouble. I guess it's one of those measures that you get just in case things go bad.
If it was expensive, I think I would've been hesistant in saying that they are worth the trouble, but they are less than $100 on Ozbargain and you get a reasonable quality one.

So I think it's because they are cheaper now and if they prevent just one hassle with insurance company, that probably would save you more than $100.

      • But they just use up my charging slot I needed for my phone though.

        • +3

Get a multi port charger or hard-wire it.

        • -2

          @rorymeister:

Hard wire way too hard, and multi charger look clungy.. Hard to pleasr am I.. Car manufacturers should have 2 lighter point in the future

        • @Droid11:

          Mine has 3 :-P

        • But they just use up my charging slot I needed for my phone though.

Then get a better charger. Sheesh!

  • Why buy from China? You may be able to get a FHD Uniden 320 road cam from OW for similar price. I got one 18 months ago for $58.

    • +1

Nice… but are you sure that's FullHD? After a tiny bit of research it seems it's only 1080i not 1080p which means it's actually records in HD but artificially generates a FullHD image from what it captured… aka interlacing. Unfortunately for Uniden their '300' model got very poor reviews and image clarity seems to be an issue across a few of their models including the 300 & 320. Still, if it does what you need/want/expect then yes $58 is a good deal because not everyone wants to ID the dead moth on the parcel shelf of the car they're following ;)

      • Uniden's website says the 320 has a 720p camera:

        iGO CAM 320
Uniden iGO CAM utilises a HD^ Camera

^HD resolution is defined as 720P resolution.

Edit: While they may have done an updated version, they could be using a 1280x720 camera and upscaling to 1080 resolutions.

A YouTube review shows the HD recording resolutions:

        1080FHD 1920x1080 @ 24 fps
        1080P 1440x1080 @ 24 fps
        720P 1280x720 @ 30 fps

  • Got my shipping notice already. Bring on mid April!

Looking forward to hard-wiring this. Hopefully I don't deploy any airbags. Total n00b here.

Let your friendly OzBargainers know if you need a hand by replying here. Someone (if not myself) will help plus making the question public will help others in the long run.

      • Thanks SteveAndBelle - you helped me out so much with my N54L Microserver build :D

        Synology is working great! Thanks!

        • +4

Ah yes! No problem at all and very glad to hear the NAS & Synology are working well. Such a bulletproof, flexible & powerful system hey. I recently rigged up a bunch of IP Security Cameras and have two recording through the free 'Surveillance Station' add-on package in Synology. Works absolutely perfectly too (works the same way as these dashcams) but unfortunately you need to pay a license fee to record more than two feeds.

The more of this stuff we can do ourselves the better! We all need to empower ourselves with different knowledge and not just sit back and be lazy and pay someone else to do it just because of the fear of failing. Believe me, I've screwed up lots of stuff in my time but have learnt from all of it so it's nice to be able to pass the knowledge on… even if it is just silly things like NAS boxes & Dashcams ;)

    • Check your shipment tracking, I ordered mine 4 days ago and it's already at Sydney customs waiting to be cleared :)

      • which site are you tracking with? cant seem to track mine on any

        • +3

You should have received a tracking number in your email. You can track it here http://www.eslink88.com/index.php/Shipment-Tracking/

        • @Ryanek: Awesome thanks! Never got the email but tracking info is on my orders page.
Worked perfectly with your link and says Customs Cleared :) Thank you!

        • @Ryanek: Cheers Ryanek, I wasn't too bothered to keep track of mine as I just assumed it would take 3-4 weeks but I just looked it up and mine has also 'cleared customs' in Sydney. Sweet!

  • +1

Bit of fiddling to get the price down but bought because of the great write up and positive reviews/votes.

  • Is this camera Apple/Mac (software) compatible?
I think is only set up for use with PC… yes/no?
I am lead to believe only 'Blackview' brand camera's include Apple/Mac software option.
I skimmed over the excellent product description but didn't see anything on this.

    • Yes, that's because I'm not an Apple user ;)

Seriously though, these cameras record in MOV format so as long as you can get your Apple gear to play an MOV file (pretty sure that's easy) then you'll be fine. Even if it means you have to remove the SD Card to access the MOV files instead of connecting the camera to your Apple machine then that's not really a problem anyway.

    • +1

Is this camera Apple/Mac (software) compatible?

What do you mean? They are just video file, Apple/Mac should have no problem opening it.

      • I think what he's referring to is that with Blackvue cameras, they come with a Blackvue viewer type software that you can use to view the videos, see videos in calendar view, see your videos plotted on a map and tweak the software settings to the camera.

You can also just browse the memory card in explorer and see the video files that way.. which is what I'm assuming you guys are all saying to do with this camera too.

  • Slightly OT what do you guys think about this

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Car-Rear-view-Mirror-HD-1080P-DVR…

    any recommendation?

    • Yep, all good in theory but as per most things you just wont know how good/bad it is until you try it. This is why the G1W series is so well regarded, it's not perfect but over time people have found them to be the best of the 'budget' stuff. Specs are one thing but hard evidence of performance is the ultimate proof of somethings worth.

I suppose what I'm trying to say is you'll need to find someone else who has already bought and used one OR just buy one yourself and take one for the team! You never know, you may find that it's better in every way!

    • i thought about buying one of those for awhile as they're pretty stealth and seem easy to fit.

BUT the problem with these is that they are designed for left-hand-drive cars because the camera is placed on the other side (i.e. our passenger side).
This means it'll have a bias to point towards the other side (i.e. footpath) as opposed to oncoming traffic.

You can adjust the direction of the lens slightly, but i dont think it'll be enough to get a good field of view.

I think you can find models designed for right-hand-drive cars, but they are more expensive (due to limited production i guess) and harder to find.

      • Hmm, good point but I really don't think that's too much of a problem. During my original test runs to determine best placement for the G1W I tried left, centre & right but thanks to the wide angle lens the difference was minimal. Same goes for rear facing cameras… some people wont want a camera sitting in the middle of their rear view (some rear windows are quite small!) so mounting it to one side may be far better but to be honest it should (& will) still capture the important stuff no matter where it's mounted.

        • +1

ahh actually the biggest problem with the mirror mounted camera lenses is that you generally turn/angle the mirror to point towards the driver which means the reverse side of the mirror is pointing away from the driver and towards the footpath. So it's not just which side of the mirror (left/right) it sits on, it's the angle.
I think roughly speaking the mirror would be angled at 20-30 degrees away and i dont think the camera lenses can pivot enough to compensate for that. So you may end up missing maybe 1/4 or 1/3 of the driver's field of view.

        • @edrift: Yes! Doh, why didn't I think of that ;) You think the lens on any of them have movement… like an eyeball?!

        • +1

          @SteveAndBelle:

Yeah I think the do pivot a little, but not as much as what your eyes can.

    • +1

      I have one currently.

The mirror is not designed to hold that extra weight so the mirror will vibrate a bit while driving so it is hard to see out of while driving.
The battery no longer holds a charge after a year so it now turns off after 10 minutes of driving because it won't take charge.
      Night vision is non-existent.
The wiring for the rear camera must have been made out of the cheapest rubbish they could have found because now the rear camera does not work, so I tested with another loom I had and it works so now I need to replace the old loom….

  • Spent extra and purchased the capacitor battery version from GearBest. The black plastic housing melted and warped in hot weather and now the buttons won't work. Gearbest won't honour their "one year free repairs" warranty. Would not recommend.

    • One of the reasons Gearbest was banned from OzBargain

  • I have two of these, bought from trusted suppliers to ensure they were not fakes.

    Pro's
    - good quality video (daylight) and sound
    - auto sos saves
    - affordable
    - reliable (date\time) issue aside, assume you use the Samsung cards, they are great and handle the heat.
    - good packaging and generous power cable length
    - loads of functions, loop ect, but like the auto-off screen saver (especially at night)
    - ports for external viewing on tv\monitor without pc.

    Neg's
    - capacitator works for just enough to save, so as soon as the power is off the cam is off instantly
(as a result of the above camera can not maintain date/time if the car is not used for a week)
    - night vision is above average
    - for me the only reliable cards have been the Samsung evo's (running 64mb)
    - chews through the storage, need a high capacity card (what do you expect though for good quality recordings)
    - suction mount is poor (aren't they all)
    - never found the flash useful, so put black pvc tape over and camera is now hard to see (hidden behind visor)

    Conclusion: Deal for the price

  • Is everbuying.net a trusted supplier for this cam?

      • Hi Becky,

Just want to know how does the order get deliver in Australia.

Is it by Australia Post? any problem if I use AusPost Parcel Locker for delivery address?

        Thx.

        Cal

Not sure but as per the other suppliers I've purchased mine from over the last 12 months I'm willing to take the risk and find out once mine arrives. I'll pop it open and check that it has everything it should (chipsets, caps etc.). I'll post pics here of course… as per my previous deal.

      • I have also purchased this and will soon find out.

  • Does this camera have an av input for a camera input?

    • +1

No. It has AV-out and HDMI out, but no inputs.

  • +11

Okay, after a few PMs asking how to hardwire a Dashcam using a DC-DC Buck module I thought I'd better draw up a quick dodgy little diagram just for clarification: https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/67715/37861/g1w_hardwi… Note: You will need a Soldering Iron, a Multimeter or DC Tester, a small flat blade Screwdriver, the knowledge on how to use them and a general understanding of basic DC power. Not rocket science nor dangerous and literally anyone can do this but I thought I'd better put the disclaimer out there first ;)

So, referring to the diagram and working from left to right… with the ignition off you can either connect wire to the terminals or the terminal plugs at the rear of the existing Cigarette Lighter socket or trace the wires that feed the socket back to a more convenient location and simply tap into them there either by stripping & soldering or using those press-fit joiner thingys. Use a Multimeter or DC tester to determine which is Positive and which is Negative (you will need to turn the ignition on for this but don't forget to turn it back off once done) then put a Fuse Holder & Fuse on the Positive side then feed the DC-DC Buck Module. Being careful not to short anything out, switch the ignition back on and use a Multimeter to measure the output voltage of the DC-DC Buck Module. Use the multi-turn pot on the module (small brass screw) to get the output voltage down to 5V but just be aware that you may need to turn it dozens of times to get it to that as these modules allow for very minute & accurate adjustments. Once you're happy you have a nice stable 5V then switch the ignition back off, solder the original camera power lead onto the Modules output then wrap the whole module in layers & layers of insulation tape and tuck it away somewhere away from any metal, just to be on the safe side in case you're using crappy cheap insulation tape that begins to unravel over time. Alternatively you could put the Buck Module into a small plastic box (Tic-Tac box for instance) or go stupidly OTT as I always do and properly mount the Buck Module into a proper electronics enclosure and use grommets for the wiring and all that jazz. Seriously though, Insulation Tape or large Heatshrink or a simple Tic-Tac box would do just as well.

Please Note: Before I get flooded with responses telling me how to do it differently I already know there literally hundreds of different ways of successfully hard wiring a Dashcam using dozens of alternatives to the above method… many are far quicker & easier that this too but as I'm being asked how to do it this is my response as this is the way I did it myself. I know there are many 'better' ways to do this but I personally don't like messing up my fuse box with adaptors or using crimp connectors etc. and prefer to take the more 'grass roots' approach as I've been doing this stuff for years and I'm used to it so if you find an easier & quicker way then 'well done you' but please be sure to do a write-up for others here because I really don't want to be writing up multiple how-to instructions and drawing diagrams for every single possible method.

By all means though, if you have any further questions about all this then please ask away here as I'm pretty sure others will have the same at one stage or another. Cheers.

    • Thanks heaps Steve, that is awesome. Can you suggest what size/capacity fuse would be sufficient for the buck converter?

      • +2

Ha, I knew I'd be asked that ;)

You could just use the glass fuse (3AG size from memory) that comes supplied in the tip of the original Cigarette Lighter Power Supply supplied with the camera or just buy one yourself. IIRC one camera draws around 500mA but that could go slightly higher depending on various settings etc. so a 1A quick-blow should do the trick and anything up to about 1.5A would even be acceptable as that would still blow fast enough. 2A is probably pushing the friendship for a single camera but if you're running two cameras I'd recommend something around the 2-3A range… but probbaly not more than 3A.

Don't forget, adding a fuse for the Buck Module is good practice as although the Cigarette Lighter circuit already has a 10A fuse in the fuse box it's always good to add another fuse to be on the safe side. If anything did go wrong either in the camera itself or in your wiring then the low current fuse you add here will blow first therefore protecting everything else. Better to have more fuses than not enough and especially in car electrics as I couldn't think of anything worse than a fire starting behind the dash while flying down a highway at 110kph. Main issue here is that you'd only know there was a problem well after it had taken hold so not a good position to be in.

Up to you what type of fuse you choose. Old-skool glass fuses work just as well as the modern plastic blade fuses but be sure to chuck some spares in the glovebox of whatever you end up with in the unlikely chance it blows and you need to replace it while out & about.

    • As my soldering skills are non existent, I am looking at something like this:
      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Perfect-12v-to-5v-Hard-Wire-Adapt…?

Does anyone know what the current draw for the camera is? Couldnt be much I wouldnt have thought.

Im thinking of wiring to the light circuit but downside is on one of my cars it will be on all the time.

      • Yep, that should work fine. As above, the cameras draw around 500mA so the 1A output of that adaptor will be A-OK.

  • Bought this Wednesday.. but just got t-boned by a P-plater running a red light at full speed this morning on the way to work.

Wish I had this earlier, the car was 7 days old and I gave away the last dash cam with the old car.

Nobody stopped as witnesses but the guy said it was his fault.. just hope he doesn't change his story because I have no footage of the traffic lights.

    Bummer.

    • Oh no! Sorry to hear that. What a shame and I hope you're OK?!

This is a great example as to why we all need to get cameras because in this case a camera in your car may not have done a lot unless you had one for the back and both sides too! If someone following you or him had a Dashcam and was nice enough to stop to give you the footage then problem solved! Again, Dashcams are just as beneficial for helping others than they are for us so the more the merrier… as long as people are good enough to stop and assist of course.

Where did it happen? Bit rude for others not to stop… or wasn't it as bad as I'm picturing (entire side of car staved in, all windows smashed etc.)?

  • I need to get a few camera's set up.. but my main reason is for police interaction.

I was pulled over recently by a lone cop who was outright lying, power-tripping, and who seemed to be on the verge of physically assaulting me when i didn't 'break' from his abuse. He truly was the devil.

I need to be able to prove seatbelt/turn signal/speed indicated etc.

These camera's seem ideal.. except I rarely drive my car so the date will continue to be reset.
Timestamp accuracy is not important really, but file overwrite order is.
It would perhaps be better if footage was recorded if simple numbered files 1,2,3,4,5 etc.
Anyway I will read more here and on the links given before purchasing.

Thanks for all the info all, and SaB especially.

    • If you need to prove you have seatbelt, indicator and speed this isn't the one for you.
The only thing it can do listed is possibly pick up the inditcator ticking in the audio. To get the speed + seatbelt you'd need one that faces the rear from the front and one that has a GPS for speed.

      • speed is definitely difficult because i drive a toyota echo.. the hud is mounted in this weird recessed area. passengers can't make it out without really craning their neck.

but if the dashcam timecode displays seconds.. perhaps this could be calculated if really needed.

as for seatbelt/prove no mobile in hand etc etc.. i think i need to get a second camera to show cockpit.
i know some windshield camera's cover cockpit as well.. will look into options.

good idea about indicator.. using sound.

i know i sound paranoid delusional but qld police are really out of control.
i was fearing for my personal safety.

and just a general fyi: they've introduced a new rule whereby they can confiscate your camera as 'evidence' for 30 days to try and deter people from filming them.

meanwhile, i was pulled over last halloween, 3am, on the m1 (federal road??) by qld police doing rbt.
took me 30mins in traffic jam to get to the actual rbt.
when i get there.. they have a film crew filming me for gold coast cops!?!
i immediately said that i refuse my face/voice being broadcast and cameraman walked off.
but it's just ridiculous.. i wish i got that interaction on camera.. should have asked for tape, as 'evidence'

  • I'm having trouble using the 120 EB points. I follow the instructions until this page and don't understand what to do next. Adding the item to the cart doesn't have anywhere to use the EB points either. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

  • what happen is when i check out my order and at the payment page (paypal), the whole amount is in USD and there is no way to change it to AUD. anyone has the same problem?

  • I wired mine to my sunroof power thru a DC-DC converter.

I've had one for a while but now random video recordings won't open of the PC. Maybe time for a new one.

    1. Do NOT buy from Everbuying!
      I am serious about this.
They have spent the last few months (profanity) me around upon an order where they sent me an empty box, which should of contained a $100-$150 torch and an inferior version charger to what was ordered.
Have provided picture evidence, to no avail.
BTW, Paypal found in favour of these grubs, despite providing pictorial evidence and forum topics that show they are grubs and trade under different names, ALL with bad reputations.

Wish someone had advised me before buying from them to avoid this (profanity) around :(

    1. What is the camera's night vision like ?
  • Hey guys,

I read the specs, but couldn't see it.
Can someone confirm if this has a sensor to record automatically when the car is off?
Ie record others around your car while its parked.

    Thanks.

This is for the capacitor version which means the camera will turn off when the car is ignition is off.

Keep in mind, some cars cig sockets remain active, but generally it turns off with the car.

The capacitor will only have enough juice to save the last file then turn off.

I ordered on the 9th and mines been shipped out

      • When did it ship? If I may ask?

        • +1

On my tracking it says it shipped on the 10th

    • Same with mine, I had to send them a ticket to follow it up, which changed the status from processing to shipped within a number hours.

Do that if it's still sitting in processing.

Much to my surprise (& prompted by Ryanek above) I just checked my order and my G1W is already in Sydney and has cleared customs… whoa! And here I was thinking it'd take 3-4 weeks! I also only just noticed that EverBuying have included a photo of the parcel including the shipping label on my Order Status page. Very impressed with this speedy and thorough service and fingers crossed the rest of our orders come through the same way because this may be the beginning of a very strong friendship between OzBargainers & EverBuying :)

    • Haha that's awesome, kind of upset I didn't get a picture of the parcel though… :(

  • Question to OP, how long have you had the camera? I bought one from here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/192390

After a while the dashcam has become quite blurry from being in the sun, I think. Will this dashcam you posted has the same problem later on?

    Thanks.

    • I've had my original G1W for about 12 months now and not had any problems. The car is usually parked under cover however the others I've installed since are used in cars that are left out in the sun and I haven't had any reports of issues.

      • Cool. Thanks for that. Might grab one too based on your recommendation. :)

        • They're cheaply made and they're not perfect BUT for the money they're very good value.

  • I have seen this camera somewhere else before http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ASYCDWA?keywords=dash%20…

    • Yep however there are quite a few different versions floating around. Not just features either, some have different chipsets and if you're really unlucky some are even dodgy rip-offs! Very difficult to know exactly which one you'll get until you receive it and pop it open to check a few things. Fingers crossed these are the same as the ones I posted in the previous deal, just unbranded.

  • For anyone else wondering about their order, I received a response from Ever buying

      Update: Order has been shipped!

  • I am using this from last 06 months , Its nt very reliable few problems I noticed are

    1. It doesnt record if card is full with recording , though it shows recording red dot but it doesnt unless you manually delete the old files , Its big pain & risky as you never know when ur card is full.

    2. Date & time automatically set to default date after every week.

    3. over the mirror clip doesnt fit to Toyoto corolla rear view mirror

If anyone has any solutions to above ?

    • They're not perfect and not for everyone however all your issues have already been addressed numerous times…

      1. Are you using a Samsung Evo Memory Card and the recommended settings?
      2. Date and Time resetting is a well known issue. Most find it resets within days so a week is very good. Hit & miss.
      3. The optional mirror mount wont fit all cars. either use the supplied suction cup mount or the adhesive mount I've linked to in the description.
      • Thanks , I think Samsung Evo Memory card never mentioned in product specifications also Can you please point me to recommended settings if possible for you?

        • Specific cards aren't mentioned anywhere however the Samsung Evo cards have been found to work the best in DashCam user communities around the world. The recommended config is at the bottom of the description at the top of the page. These settings have been posted on various sites & forums for years and after finding them with a simple Google search they fixed up the few issues I had with my first G1W camera.

You can use any card with equivalent write speed with samsung evo card

Unless I'm very much mistaken, it appears they're back up to AUD $71.62.
    I snoozed, I losed.

    • Sorry you missed out McMonte but thanks for the heads up. I've now marked the deal as 'expired'.

      • Hey, all good. I had the tab open for two days, then FF crapped out but didn't restore the previous session.
This sometimes happens with ~60 tabs open in three windows running low-end hardware!

      • Well, winter's coming so I just bought this $14 POS today:
        "G30" 1080P DVR

And thanks for the tip on the mirror mount, but I found one a few bob cheaper ($2.35):
        The mirror mount for ~$2.35

So I'll be modding the lighter plug to USB (I have a 1A dual USB sleeve) and getting the recommended card.
Those items will come in handy if (when) I have to replace this so-called G30.

Wish me luck, indifference or derision.

        • let me know how it is when you receive it.

would be keen to get a second camera for the rear.

Really wish cars had in-built DVR features since my car has 4 cameras in-built already for the 360 degree view and auto parking.

        • @edrift: Mine just arrived…

        • Will do, but I don't expect much TBH.

        • @edrift:

Well that "E30" didn't match the auction photos. It's total garbage I'm afraid. Can't recognise a memory card, doesn't have HMDI or AV out, no number plate entry as promised by the terrible instructions…just a waste of money.

I requested and received a partial refund. Call me generous, but the supplied cables and suction mount weren't defective.

  • has anyone received theirs yet? Mine has been stuck at Cleared Customs status since the 14th…

    • Nope, not yet. Mine has also been in customs since the 14th. Shouldn't be too far off…

          @shapers:

          mine arrived this morning.

Was well packaged and box suffered zero damage during transit.
Camera and all the accessories seem to be included (usb cable, car charger cable, correct clip on mount - as opposed to the incorrect screw on type, and a bilingual manual)

Will have to test it out tonight with my matching futu-online supplied Samsung microSD card!

        • @edrift: Just got mine too :) going to test it out right now!

  • has the price gone up? was going to get my flat mate 1.

  • Just paid $53.11 via mobile site and 100 points thingo discount. It's still on. Thanks op.

Mine just arrived! Cracked it open and all looks fine so very unlikely to be non-genuine… Caps & Chipset look fine plus a recent-ish build date:

    1. Caps in blue shrink wrap & Build Date: https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/67715/38084/1._build_d…
    2. Novatek 96650 Chipset: https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/67715/38085/2._chipset…
