Just for info: that printer is USB 2.0 only, and it has no other direct connectivity. For most people who'd require Network or Wireless printing of some form, that means relying on a "permanently-on" computer, or using a separate Print Server.

For that reason alone, the printer is not really "a good deal".

    • +5

Or you know…the target market for the printer which are like low volume users and money-tight uni students who won't mind plugging their computer in to print documents…

      • Neither you or maniac read my post properly, did you?

low volume users and money-tight uni students are NOT "most people who'd require Network or Wireless printing of some form".

        • +10

Your post implied that most people require network or wireless printing. Why not just say "For people who'd require" if that's what you meant? I mean, if those aren't the solutions for people who require wireless or network printing, who are the other people that are not part of "most people"… Anyways, I guess I interpreted wrong.

          @spaghettiman:

Why not just say "For people who'd require" if that's what you meant?

Simply because I didn't have the foresight to know that people were going to pick my post apart word by word, then point out the obvious to attempt to contradict me :-)

Anyway, my intention was to point out that in today's modern world a printer without networking is pretty much the equivalent of a USB 2.0 portable hard drive or a Dual-Core Android phone with 500MB of RAM.

Yeah they still work, and they might be good enough for some people who have low expectations or absolutely NFI about what they are buying, however they are hardly considered "good value" now days irrespective of the price.

So, my post was a warning to remember that you are missing out on a feature that is considered important by most people (even the cheapskate non-working students here on OzBargain) :-)

          @rustafaria: Pics or it didn't happen…

        • @llama: Ideal for people who don't use the computer much and just have one pc in the house and this printer could plug directly to it. Perfect for printing a page here or there.

          Of course.

And totally useless for the rest of us who have higher expectations than that :-)

But if you only have one computer, it doesn't make any difference.

For others, yes, worth spending a little more. e.g.

But if you only have one computer, it doesn't make any difference

        Well, no 5h!7 Sherlock!

Not sure why you make the comment when, if you read my post, you'll see that I wasn't referring to such people.

Also consider that even poor uni students generally have tablets and phones, and use them for the majority of web browsing etc. The ability to print direct from mobile devices is actually quite handy sometimes. This is why almost all modern printers (even budget ones) at least have WiFi built in now days.

Watching here on Ozbargain, you'll see deals all the time for WiFi or Networkable Laser printers.

Dude relax, why you getting so worked up? It's friday arvo!

        • @montorola:

It wasn't Friday arvo when I posted LOL :-D

    • It's for local printing, and dirt cheap.

      Apples-Oranges.

    • Don't you have internet modem-router with usb and print server function? ;-)

I have this one at home. Bought it about a year ago. Works ok, I print couple of page per month. Drivers are not plug&play, but easy to download.

  • Bought my first wireless printer last week. Would never go back.

    • from where please share ?

    • Mine offers it. But I had nothing but trouble, trying to set it up.

Meanwhile, it's <2metres from PC, and a simple USB for laptops.

    • Hopefully it wasn't a wireless inkjet lol

I didn't mean it was the same as this model, I meant the freedom of putting the printer somewhere else around the house without the cable is quite freeing.

Regardless I got this Xerox one from Officeworks for $59 - http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/fuji-xerox-…

    • Once you get a wireless printer you will never buy a corded one. Maybe. Perhaps. I think. True for me anyways. Anyone in the house can print from their laptop, so much easier than sending an email etc.

  • +1

the good guys are also selling the wireless version
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/111530926916?_trksid=p2060353.m14…
69 before 20% off. around 56 bucks. extra 20 for wireless is pretty good.

  • So i added the code for 20% off which it applied then ive gone through the whole click and collect process and its charged the full price. Does it revert back after changing details meaning you have to input the code again?? Can i just buy another if it uses the code this time and return the "full price" one if i have paid via paypal

    • Paypal may show that it charged the full amount, but don't worry, the discount is covered.

Check out FAQ in this post: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/233878

      • Ahhh i see. Thanks

    • Just make sure you're not reading it wrong. It can be confusing sometimes. These eBay promotions will appear in PayPal as the full price, which is a combination of the discounted price and the eBay coupon value. For example and item for $20 will be listed as $16 (from your funds) + $4 (eBay promotion) = $20 (full price) and it can look like you paid the full $20. But you didn't.

      • yep just checked my online banking and only $32.00 was taken out so its applied the code. Thanks! Been waiting for the k400 for a while now.

        • Is the shipping fee waived with the coupon?

        • @Hirolol:

Not sure i used click and collect

  • Shipping

    • … conquered the seas!

  • Also interesting to see if the k400 plus is indeed a plus, As the picture shows the k400r but description states Plus. Quite a gap in price between the 2 so im hoping its the better one.

If the WAHL clippers arent USA made they are rubbish

EDIT - neggers, this is a well known fact - not an opinion….call me paranoid but sometimes i think that a certain few people just follow my posts to neg them automatically

    • +1

      Lol, have a +

    • +1

      paranoid

      .. but don't worry. I didn't neg you. I don't even know you.

    • +1

      Listen to the man.

    • +1

They're definitely not the USA ones at that price.
You're right though. US made wahl clippers are great and should be the only option to those that want to give themselves a zero head.

  • For the printer, anyone has idea how much the ink replacement going to cost? Or any good deals for that? Thanks

    • Good news! No ink needed!

      (toner? JFGI)

    • Kit cartridge is about 800 pages. 2000 pages one probably about 20-30$..

  • The link to the K400 Plus show $40 + $8 delivery, so after 20% off that, it is $38.40?

  • Can anyone recommend a colour Laser printer and how much would a toner cost from ebay? It doesn't need to have wireless printing.
I have color inkjet but i realised ink keeps tryong as i am not big user.

  • Just bought this: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Dyson-301218-01-AM07-Black-Ni…. 20% bring it down to $358, best price for me so far I've been wanting a Dyson fan for 4 years…

  • I got HP ENVY 5540 for $46.40 (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-HP-G0V47A-HP-ENVY-5540-All-In…)
, havent picked up yet. Should I cancel it and get a toner one instead? only bought it because my current HP one doesn't have Wireless/AirPrint feature. I do occasional colour prints and not much of blacks either.

  • Heads up: Have your licence/ID and the paypal receipt ready to view when you go to pick-up.The Good Guys invoice/docket you get sent is apparently not enough to allow them to release the goods. There was an already long queue, made longer by people trying to find the papypal receipt on their phone or not having a phone or hard copy receipt. Weird system, but….

    • +1

I didnt even have that. I handed over my licence and 2 mins later was out

      • That's how it worked with Harvey Norman when I went to pick up some USB sticks this morning (licence and signature = deal) but GG Nash Patel at Castle Hill say that's the requirement for the ebay deal. Admittedly, it does mention it in the small print of the ebay and GG emails "Collection instructions: Licence or passport and PayPal Trans. ID must be shown and match the order." but I didn't notice it and it seems lots of others didn't either….

  • Haha. I wish I had known this before.
Went there to pick up, had keypass on. But appartely they only release the product if youve got license or a passport. "I'm Sorry"
