  • Big W only or Big W branded wish card for all stores in the group? Cheers.

    • Woolies online would be good. Anyone take a guess if they'ld work?

    • Does say Big W or Big W online only. Anyone tried the code in other stores?

      • +5

        It has been discussed before.

BigW E-gift cards are only redeemable at BigW. (Which is what's on sale).

BigW physical gift cards can be used at woolies and other stores.

    • Big W only as indicated in the fine print.

This Store eGift Card is redeemable at BIG W stores and BIG W Online only, and cannot be used to purchase any other Gift Cards issued by Woolworths Limited

  • would like to know too.

    • Buy Groupon GC, then use at big W via self checkout to buy other gift cards

  • +4

Might be a hard sell when Big W just finished a sale today at 10% off wish cards.

    • Not really.

Guys were buying these at 7.5% , then converting them via self checkout for physical cards when big w had 10% off GC in December

      • Win.

        • Yep , stacking discount over discount

      • Recent 10% sale had lots of reports of people being denied though. The December one was much easier.

        • +2

          It's a hit and miss .

I was told if you had your credit card in your hand at self checkout , they process it for you . When they turn there head, pull out your gift card and pay for it

        • +1

@easternculture: Yep - that should work, as long as they don't check the receipt. Their system does differentiate between Gift Card and "Card".

        • @easternculture: why is such a brilliant tactic neg?

          @alanyang:

          Bc haters exist

        • @alanyang: Perhaps because it is advocating fraud?

    • Well, as you said "just finished" though (i.e. no longer available)

    • Just finished the sale…

Wot?! Did this get posted on OzBargain? How did I miss it!

    • Maybe search Ozb, as I recall this question coming up before. The cards did work at Woolies according to poster. BUT that was the past so not going to try it.

      • You replied to the wrong poster. I've pointed out it isn't redeemable at Woolies by posting the terms and conditions from the Groupon page…

        • Yeap, wrong spot. But the same thng was in T&Cs a year or so ago, and still people found it worked at Woolies.

  • Anyone else have trouble lately buying eGift cards through Cashrewards website.

I've had nine failures at the egiftcard checkout in the last 8 days.

    Woolies say everything is working.

    • Try deleting the <,"'.> symbols in your address bar, the online website doesn't like that. Had your issue before, now its works perfectly for me.

      • Thanks Zackyis, I couldn't see these symbols.

I get a couple of different red-coloured error messages, now 10 times straight.

        Just got -
        We couldn't process your Request

We're sorry but we were unable to process your card payment. Please check your card details including the expiry date if you are using one of the saved cards from your EverydayGiftcards account or try another card or alternative payment method. If there is still an issue, please contact us

I've tried the usual things, but I guess 5% off cards are no go at the moment.

        • By symbols, I mean something like your address being 10 O'Brian Place, change it to 10 OBrian Place - so it only has alphabetical characters. Don't think I explained myself clearly before.

        • @Zackyis:
It looks like as I've played the system so hard, maybe they just marked me as no-more-giftcards.
I've tried "everything", and after 13 failed transactions in the last 10 days, and many in the past, I am fully Dodo'ed.

    • I bought some via Pricepal last week without any problems if that helps.

    • Bought 2 wish egiftcards 2 days ago, seemed to work fine, transaction went through and cards were emailed within hours. HMMMM…maybe try a different web browser? Not sure if it'll make any difference though

    • Just got my GC that I ordered through CR last night.

  • I just wonder can i buy these gift cards and use them to buy a new iphone 6s, which means 7.5% off iphone

    • +1

Can't see why not if your buying your iPhone from Big W

    • +1

Big W don't have a lot of stock for 6s. I was stuck with 1k in gift cards last Christmas due to Big W not having any 6s stock >.>

      • Did you ask them for checking all of their stores. I think it may be available in some store yeah?

      • +1

They also only sell 16gb iphones, who the hell wants 16gb

  • How quickly do you receive these cards as I plan on using them this Saturday. Instant?

    • Can take up to 24 hours. Do it now!

  • +6

Don't raise false hope for others, very difficult to buy gift card by gift card at big w nowadays, doing it at self check out doesn't work almost all the time because staff will need to intervene and most of the time they will redirect you to the manned checkout register and you will be at the mercy of them to be able to pay by giftcard

    • +1

Yep, this and I tried using the last 10% bigw to buy wish only to directed to the counter after I completed my other self purchase checkout.

Won't stand a chance unless the checkout attendant close an eye. Everyone seems to be on Ozbargain and knows the tactics well.

    • I haven't had any trouble yet.

I was at a Big W last week and had a 5% off e-gift card that I was using to buy a 10% off Big W Gift card. This particular Big W didn't have any self check units so out of the 3 checkouts opened I picked the one with the kid who looked to be about 15. He didn't care how I paid, he hardly said a word.

Two previous times I just used self check, scan gift card orange light goes on and a staff member comes over. I tell then the amount I want and they add that in. At this point I have my CC in hand with a tiny slip of paper hidden behind it with the e-gift card details(Don't take the A4 printed piece of paper and wave it around). Staff member usually takes off to deal with someone else at this point. I then select e-gift card as payment method and enter the details.

  • This will be good for those who missed out on the 10% off gift cards deal last week. Otherwise if you had gotten enough, this will be useless.

    • +1

Thank for you this useful information.

    • How come nobody posted about this on OzBargain? (At least I can't find it on search). OzBargain you have failed me!!!

      • No you have failed as an ozbargainer.

        • Indeed I have. Where do I hand in my OzBargain membership card?

(Although, it could have been a little clearer in that post)

  • I just checked cash rewards you can get 5% cash back so 7.5% plus 5%. M I right

  • +1

Please change the heading to say it's 7.5% off eGift cards, as there is a distinct difference in value between eGift cards and physical gift cards.

  • just got one
how long does it take for the eGift card to come through via email?

    • Let us know when it arrives :-)

      • i just read the fine print..

        3) BIG W Store eGift Card will be emailed to you in approx. 2-4 business days from the domain @everydaygiftcards.com.au

        • Thanks. So maybe not soon enough to stack with the 20% off iTunes @ BigW.

  • So I should be able to use one of these to buy a some Optus recharges then? (and get the 10% RevUp bonus)

  • got mine in minutes

  • How long did you guys wait for egift cards to arrive im after a deal right now only 5% but not if 2 to 4 days was told 24 hrs does this include weekends and say anzac day just wondering how quick they send.

    • Usually, a few hours.
Depends on where you buy from. Use CashRewards.

  • Its groupon im looking to get from as dont believe you can get gift cards from woolies im after now? Or they clamping down on doing egift cards for gift cards.

Can you still get goodguys gift cards at woolies?

    • Purchase directly from Woolies, via cashrewards.com.au
Groupon takes ages to process, cashrewards is immediate.

      • Yes but im sure they dont sell goodguys gift vouchers anymore and im hearing its harder to get egift cards and go to woolies and buy gift cards?

        • Don't think there's any problem with Woolies itself. It's the Woolies group stores (namely Big W) that are starting to restrict gift card purchases.

  • Looks like woolies dont sell goodguys gift cards unless its just my local
