  • terrible resolution (1366 x 768)

    • +1

Geez, "terrible" resolution? That's a bit harsh isn't it? Not going to get into the whole HD v full HD debate at this hour, but suffice to say that 1366 x 768 is definitely more than good enough for anyone who watches primarily FTA TV or DVDs.

Have seen this TV in shops before and it's pretty good quality. Good bargain.

agree there, wouldnt be bad for games either.

        • +1

PC games are where you notice it most maybe not xbox or ps3 not sure of the res of those, so maybe not on those, but TVs and dvds there will be no difference, blurays will be a difference specially with a TV this big.

there are better full HD 1080P tvs (as per below) for around the same price.

just a waste of money id rather spend a couple extra and get the full HD, for future proofing as well… to upgrade to FULL HD 1080P your gonna have to move/get ride of this one.. .money wasted.

although this is a "Hz Technology 600 Hz " TV… so if you take that into consideration then it should be worth 10 times more… LOL.

          • @wisc: I know there is a difference for bluray and such but i was agreeing to the fact with fta and dvd this would suffice as its probably what most people use it for.
I have one of these and they aren't bad, with games i dont see much difference compared to my led samsung.

As for the price, it's reasonable.

    • 1366x768 is atleast 720p capable (1280x720) unlike the 42" plasmas that are 1024x768.

Good if you want a big TV, but don't have the money for a fullhd model.

  • I've just got a PS50B550 Samsung Full HD plasma for 1.1k (1.2k without extended warranty) so this is hardly a bargain unless you want absolutely the lowest price.

    • Hi mate, where did you pick one of these up for this price? I've only seen them around the $1500 mark…

    • wanna let us in on where you got your tv from?

  • -1

Bought this model for $879 from Bing Lee

    • no bing lee in vic

  • you should be able to get the new model for this price 50pj350 ( sexy beast )

this model should be sub $1000

    • Cheapest I can find is JB for $1396 + delivery.

  • where from?

  • sorry I shot my mouth a bit there , I didnt see delivery but if you live in Perth I can tell you where the 50pj350 is for $1100 + delivery ( rather not public post email me [email protected] )

The 50pq20d ran out in most places quite a while ago but you could probably find the 50pq60d ( better model ) available in some places for sub $1000 + delivery

    • I appreciate your effort to bring a good price to some users, but surely if you're not confident in posting a public notice of a deal that means it's not going to be open to everyone? That you'd seriously limit the amount of people who can get the deal?

      • Yeh I got myself in a pickle. I only made the statement to illustrate why the price on the 50pq20d was not the best. Although the price I quoted on the 50pj350 is true to announce it as a deal publicly I would have to mark myself as a REP or something of the like and I didnt really want to do that.

I was extremely surprised when the interest turned towards the 50pj350 and I did feel a bit of pressure to deliver what I had claimed and thought private email the only way to do it.

  • hasn't this gone UP in price by $100 since I posted it up less than a month ago?
