  • Good price. Do you reckon this charger is better or the Nitecore D2?

    • if you navigate to the base of the review web link provided above, you will find reviews of many chargers including the one you mentioned

I bought one of these last time, the only thing I didn't realise was that you need a power supply for it.

    • that seems like a really big deal. whether this is a good deal is entirely dependent on where you can get a suitable one and how much it will cost.

    • I thought the provided USB cable is used to power the charger, and therefore charge the batteries.

You just have to find your own USB adapter to use the cable.

What is the power supply that you bought for it?

    • I didn't realise was that you need a power supply for it.

Technically, any overseas power supply that you got from China would be illegal, uncertified and probably non-compliant with Australian Standards.

It is MUCH better to source a safe and compliant one here in Australia. And this is USB, which means that nobody will need to buy one anyway.

yes they hve taken the approach that most people have a sub charger that is compliant with the country they are in, so have built their chargers to charge using a usb charger ….. 5v 2.1a only downside is they supply a cable that goes from the normal round pin to usb …… doesn't use micro sub connector …… so you can also use a 5v plug pack if you have one spare ….. I have the 4 battery version.

  • This device charges at 5v / 2.1A which basically means most modern smartphone or tablet charger will be fine.

I have the XTAR Vc4 and just use the charger that came with my ASUS Memopad, since it supplies exactly the same voltage and current

  • I recommend buying a charger that also suits LiFePo2 batteries, They are far more stable than Lithium Ion and can do a lot more recharge cycles. They have a flatter discharge curve and can take a real hammering in charge currents (up to 4C) and discharge is good as well. They are a bit rare at the moment but increasing in popularity.
