Never thought I'd see the day when $1300 was considered a bargain for an oversized Candy Crush device.

$1300? Oh it gets better. Don't forget the Pen and keyboard accessory, then you're looking north of $1600.

I wonder if there are any apps made specifically for the iPad Pro's extra-large display and the Pencil. Feels like such a waste to have a 12 inch display but only limited to using the standard IOS apps.

Absolutely laughable that the 'home screen' is the exact same as the smaller ipad. Such a tremendous waste of space.

  • FYI be aware 32gb is an extremely low amount
Also you must purchase the Apple Pen separate and the keyboard if wanted
A lot of apps have neglected this Ipad

I disagree that 32Gb is not enough, especially since you don't need to save photos on it (that's what the cloud is for). Also, developers will certainly make more apps for its screen now that the smaller version Pro will become available.

      • I agree. I've had the 32GB wifi version for a few months now and the storage is easily sufficient. Before that I had a 16GB ipad (regular) and I never had any storage shortages.

        • I suppose different strokes…
Anyway certain people might want to load it up with hd movies for a trip
And some games are quite big also
I suppose a lot of people won't load it up with music and take photo/video with it
I know the 16gb iPhones have 12gb free so how much space does this device have free.
Also consider the cost to go for. 32 to 128gb and the resell value makes it cheap and attractive for some

          @thelastnoob:
          The more the merrier.
I found that high-definition AV downloaded tend to be huge and they fill iPad quickly.
PS. AV = Anime Video, not something else

      • I've heard similar logic with videos, music, etc. With streaming, NAS, etc being so popular, you don't need a phone with a big storage.
I don't like going for a plan with large data, so that logic really don't apply to me (in fact, I have a 128GB phone).

My mother has an iPhone 6, 16GB model. She's fine with it since all she uses it for is photo (She's using iCloud, I got her to pay for larger capacity one) and SNS.

I bought her an iPad Mini 4, 16GB model. She loves it because she can use it to see photos on iCloud (which she uses for her shop as well). That said she wants larger one because she wants to watch her TV shows on her Mini 4.

      • I use my iPad when travelling, often outside internet range or with extremely limited quotas. With 32GB I have to keep deleting photos off it in order to import more to edit them (I should have sprung for the 128). Especially when they're ~30mb / photo, the OS takes up a fair chunk and you have a couple of movies on it. Basically the first 16 GB tends to be entirely OS / Apps. Hell, some of the apps I've had which I can't install when travelling are ~2 GB (each).

Probably going to go for some form of windows tablet as my next device, as I just can't handle the limitations of iOS anymore. Which is a shame, because it's a good size for travelling (the mini or 9.7" at least), and some of the 'light' photo editing apps are better than anything available for windows in terms of ease of use / features ratio.

I was seriously considering one of these when they came out, but for several things
        - I wanted 256 GB.
        - Price (as much as a much more powerful/flexible windows tablet)
        - I took a look at it in store and I thought it was too big to use comfortably for my purpose (mostly travel).

I can see if you're always connected to Wifi and don't use large apps, or store media on it, 32gb is fine. But then, you probably don't need one of these at all either in that case, I can really only see them being useful for people that like to draw and sketch on them.

  • Wonder if these are any good for remote desktop into the office. I'd like to be able to access some windows programs whilst on the move. Something like team viewer, splashtop or even microsoft remote desktop.

  • This brings the prices similar to the 9.7" iPad Pro's out next week… half tempted to go for the bigger one, but I think I prefer the 9.7" size.

Where are the promised rumored iBoard (in 2012) and iMat (in 2014)?
iPad Pro's size is nothing compared to iBoard and iMat.
    I am disappointed…

    • For one thing, Jobs passed away on 2011.

    • whoever did the images for iBoard and iMat clearly don't know apple. given the size of the iPad pro, you still only get a lot of wasted space in-between icons. Fair enough with the space restriction on the old iPhones.
