If you upgrade the RAM and GPU, it will be $826. The code still works.

I am tossing up between the Lenovo E460 or this:
    http://www.dell.com/au/business/p/latitude-e7470-ultrabook/p…

    • +7

Just upgrade the RAM yourself for $30, takes about 2min to do on this one.

    • +3

Latitude is more comparable to ThinkPad T460, in terms of both price and build quality.

Is the GPU upgrade worth it?

    • Cashrewards Does 8.00% Cashback apply?

        yes

        Cashrewards Does 8.00% Cashback apply?

Yes, just click through this link

      • It doesn't apply to the full amount of $688 though.

        • Out of interest, how much cashback did it say you would get?

        • @oxblood8:
I haven't purchased this particular item, but I did purchase a $550 Lenovo laptop. Received 9% cashback on $500 ($45).

        • +1

The cashback is only on the non GST component. So the actual cashback you will get is 8% of $625.45 which is $50.03. Makes the after cashback price $637.97

Lattitude 3000 series is closer to an E460. Lenovo's T series are more akin to the 5000 & 7000 dell series in terms of build quality etc.

Use the dell outlet either way for buying dells.

    • E7470 hands down

  • I got the Dell eBay deal, once again, ripped…

    • +1

If you're talking about the i3 dell one, that is a touch screen, this isn't.

    • +2

      plus, it's dell.
you're not getting a questionably flexy plastic powerhouse that bends to places they're not supposed to bend, but at least you're getting a dell. adele. hello.

      • +1

you're not getting a questionably flexy plastic powerhouse that bends

what brand are u talking about here?

and which is better dell or lenova?

        • +1

They're both good. You get what you pay for. :D

      • a dell. adele. hello.

You cracked me up there!! witty ehh!!!

Bought a Lenovo ideapad 300 a week ago and for the life of me cannot get it to see a Sandisk 256gb Ultra Plus SSD. Mechanic drives all work fine, but SSD. Lenovo says no. :(

    • Windows 10?

      • It doesn't even show up in the bios.. I have a sneaking suspicion that because there is no ide/ahci selector, it can't see it.

        • turn on UEFI boot or whatever it's called
N.B/disclaimer this was for my e560

        • @KeplersLaws: Tried that. No luck.. Pretty much tried everything. I think it might be an incompatibility issue with the Sandisk SSD, but don't have another brand to test with.

        • Definitely not the drive? Tried all slots?

        • Nope, SSDs run fine in IDE compatibility mode as I use one in a computer that predates AHCI. If it's not showing up at all in the BIOS there is most likely something wrong with your SSD. Sorry.

    Can the code be ARSE-PAD?

    • Keep beating that dead horse.

  • +1

Pretty good price for what you're getting.

Still hoping Lenovo does a deal for the X1 carbon and the T460s. Both have been on my shopping list since they were announced and I still haven't been able to pull the trigger.

It'll run low end games just fine. Think counter strike condition zero, or any rts games

      • counter strike condition zero

christ…hope no one still plays that failure of a game.

        • Jesus don't play games but he did die for the sins of the world that whosoever believes on Him can have eternal life

I had unstable 56k internet, so I played it for the campaign mode

        • I thought the recoil patterns were a lot tighter than 1.6 and it had some really cool maps like de_stadium_cz. I ran a 1.6 server back in the day and found a way to get the maps into regular 1.6 :)

  • any gaming laptop deals???

  • Hi @tightarse
Would there be any deal on Yoga laptop again?

    • Go find another site to troll, lpiok. I'll ask that of you respectively, as would anyone else feeling the same way.
      Shocking behaviour.

Is this laptop compatible with learning cyber security?

ask them to install superfish on your machine.

  • I'm so glad to see FHD laptops finally starting to come down in price. Pity that Tablets are already well above that, but I'll take it.

  • If I buy this then take out the hdd (and replace it with a sdd) can I install windows 10 again or do I need to buy a new license?

    • Should be able to ghost the partition over

      • +2

you don't need to do that. just install clean, it'll recognise your mobo and 'core components' and automatically retrieve your product key and activate as soon as you go online.

    • You can install it again no worries

  • If you go by through the Lenovo home page you can use the "EASTER" code and get a higher discount. Anyone tried using both codes ?

    • I tried - it doesn't work. The EASTER offer is only available on selected models, AFAIK.

  • What would the average battery life be on this for something like playing full hd movies etc and web browsing

  • Is the 1 year warranty international warranty ? or just for Australia?

  • Is anyone else having issues checking out?

    • I had a problem with using Chrome for credit card payment. Using Firefox to order and pay by credit card seems to work.

      • I've tried Chrome, IE and Firefox. All are not working for Credit card and PayPal

  • Can anyone post if they have an E560 or E460 whether they have this issue with laggy arrow keys which insert a number when they are released.

    https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:eBi38a…

I am affected by this and want to see if it is a widespread Lenovo issue. The above Lenovo forum post appears to have been deleted from their forums.
