I'm gonna go out on a limb here and suggest you've targeted the wrong clients… Majority of users here are pretty tech-savvy and could do what you're offering, themselves, in their own house.

    • We agree with you. But, Not everyone is able to fix them. So, we are helping those who don't know how to fix those complex issues.

      • Complex? What things on your list are complex?

        • i guess you make it clear enough for friends and family to not bother coming near you with a computer problem.

        • Yeah since this is only software issues, I imagine everything would be fixed by installing something which is pretty easy to do.

        • Eh? Quite a few would be 'complex' to the average user.

      • When issues arise just google it , best advice ever.

          Yep, and the Youtubes

  • Trinity Connect? Didn't you guys use to be a mobile phone shop..

      Terms and Conditions
      * Excludes hardware costs and onsite repairs.

      • Yeah expected that, just couldn't be bothered reading the whole offer. They probably should mention conditions in the title tho.

        • I have a laptop with a bad fan. I have the fan off ebay. I doubt they will replace the fan for me for free.

    • So take the board in and get them to do the grunt work ;)

    • Yes, We can replace a motherboard on a laptop. Please message us at http://fb.me/msg/trinityconnect.com.au for any enquiries regarding that.

      • I have a horize laptop, company went bust and my battery pack is causing overheat. Purchasing new battery pack still generates over heating, so i think it might be the motherboard.

What happens if still in warranty period but company gone bust?

  • How much for onsite repairs?(per hours)

    • Where are you, I'll probably be cheaper.

    Any hardware needed isn't free
boom, gotcha! makes me laugh when computer repairers say they can fix anything or it's free, what they can't fix they replace, bring them a water damaged laptop worth say $400 and they'll say "sure, we can fix it no problem, needs new motherboard, only $500!" also keep in mind some repairers(not talking about these guys specifically) will always upsell, bring in your pc to remove a virus and because your pc is "slow and unresponsive we highly suggest adding 4gb RAM"(at highly inflated prices of course!)

    • We Agree With Your Knowledge. However, We don't belong to those dodgy category. Our Services are Very Reliable and Straight Forward. Our Repair Prices are on our website at http://www.trinityconnect.com.au/repair-services/pc-mac/

Will you repair faulty items that we already have the hardware for because I looked and don't think I see many actual replacement parts for many things in your store? i.e. I have a mobile phone with cracked front glass that we purchased the replacement digitizer/glass off ebay and if you are offering then I dont really want to risk actually cracking the LCD itself (that is working) removing and replacing it myself. Im talking about a LG using loco glue here not a iphone or something.

        • +2

To be fair, why would you ever think parts needed in a repair would be free.

If I bring a PC with a dead HDD, then I would expect to pay for a HDD. Its unreasonable to think otherwise.

        • @tonyjzx: I dont did you even read my comment, my point is i already have the parts and my question was if they would do the repair for free.

        • -1

Plus my question directly relates to the "any hardware needed isnt free" since I already have the 'hardware' for the repair. I thought it was a pretty simple question.

    • +1

      Any hardware needed isn't free
      boom, gotcha!

Do you seriously expect them to do everything for free? Do you work for free at your job?

      • anything that does not need hardware, yes, free, that's what is written above! be realistic, these guys are not a charity, they still pay the employees' wages, with this 'free' service they have to make money somehow, selling hardware, upselling the service, etc and no i don't work for free, except for family, there we trade for favours…

My laptop fell from a 10th story window.

all i could salvage was the enter key.

I also have the the power cord - so you will get it working again if i bring it in?

  • Can you fix a surface pro 1 with a broken power button?

    • Can You please email us some pictures and more description regarding the issue and your contact details. SO that One of our Technical team will contact you.

  • Quite hard to please people these days. Offering to repair computer for FREE, which usually cost over $40.

    • computer repair jobs are not easily quantifiable, which is part of the reason why this deal doesn't have much upvotes
E.g if a customer brings you an easily repairable machine (say, a laptop that's overheating) which didn't require any part replacements but very ofteh, they still charge a fair amount for the actual labour put into disassembling the machine and giving it a quick blow with compressed air. They could charge $40 dollars for 10 minutes of actual work!

To a customer who's tech savvy, charging $40~70 for a job that only takes 10 minutes to do might be seen as a rip-off, but a customer who knows nothing about hardware may be convinced that $40 is a small price to pay to have someone knowledgeable do it for you.

      • +1

It's a business. They need to make money somehow. They gotta pay rent/employees etc.

        • True. Y'know, Computer repair businesses used to be viable. Not any more though

@scrimshaw: That's why they're all becoming MSPs. They outnumber PC repair shops now.

        • @Clear: Whats a MSPs?

        • +1

          @GameChanger: Managed Service Providers.

Wikipedia will tell you the life story so I'll give you an example of an IT MSP.

A company pays an annual fee to an IT company that will manage all of their IT infrastructure. They get access to 10 technicians with a wide range of skills and it costs less than hiring 1 IT technician outright.

A lot of businesses just use IT MSPs or use them along side their existing IT staff.

        • Even if you paid me, I wouldnt touch any of the PC's owned here or most of the PCs out there.

Once you touch a PC, you own it. If I fix this issue for someone and some other problem crops up, they will likely blame you for it.

So why would you fix it for free? You're taking on someone elses problem for nothing.

  • Got a loose headphone port can you fix that? And also some wifi issues currently.

  • Hi are you able to reinstall a fresh copy of windows 8 on a samsung series 5 ultra book as I have another Operating system but its not working fine. cant remember if its windows 7. I think originally it had Windows 8. Is this included in the free laptop repair if not how much does this cost.

    • Buddy, why don't you get a USB and do it yourself, it's not that hard.

      • i don't have a copy of windows 8 thats why i was asking and I'm not sure if that's the only problem. I'm not sure what needs to be done. Last time I contacted Samsung I was told I need to take it in to a Samsung authorised repairer.

    • Yes, We can reinstall fresh windows operating system. If you supply the operating system we can do a free service. or if you don't have the operating system then you need to pay the cost of the operating system.

  • What are your hours? Cant find them on your site.

    • we open from Monday to Friday 9:30am to 5:30 PM

  • Can you guys install mac OS on PC?
Don't want to use virtual machine

    • lol this guy

    • Its not possible to install OS X on a Windows PC. We recommend you to buy a Mac and install windows in it.

  • I don't need your service, but you're well deserved an up vote.

    • Thank you.

  • You guys should get into xbox/ps mod business. Plenty to make in the market

  • Great timing! I have a W230ss that needs its display replaced and would like to get it done by a professionl. Rep, Am I able to supply parts? And what would the turnaround time be like?

    • +1
