FYI: the Mitre 10 link is for NZ.

Seems like decent value for $40, however it's really not worth anything like $198+. Seems to be basically the same as the Ozito rotary tool from Bunnings for ~$50 (less on special, which seems fairly regular): http://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-170w-42-piece-rotary-tool-k…

    • Just for comparison the Twist a Saw is 550W vs 170W for the Ozito, so it's really in another class, eg: my 25 years old trusty Bosch Hammer Drill is 550W.

    • Warranty is also better with 3 years as opposed to 2 years.
Bunnings are usually pretty good too if you can provide proof of date purchased with receipt and so long as it hasnt been missused.
Just go in and they give you a new one.
Not sure what its like with the renovators

  • Looks like another dremel knock-off, AKA rotary tool. Does this do anything special?

    • note to self: refresh old pages for new post before replying :-) Sorry C12 for the echo.

  • Strathpine still had 5 units. Marked down to $100 but scanned at $40

Pay the extra $9 and get an entry level Dremel

  • I'd stay away from Renovator tools. Better spent money elsewhere.

    • if they made this of trade quality it would be a useful tool.

Now, can anyone comment on the Join-a-Jig.
I just sit there hypnotised whenever I see that infomercial come on.

    • I can't comment on join a jig as I have the kreg pocket hole jig. I personally love the pocket hole jig, getting the screws can be a bit more annoying. Most of my recent woodworking projects have used pocket holes, I'm not going back to dowels or biscuits any time soon.

getting the screws can be a bit more annoying.

Check out sachys robertson screws from screwit.com.au. I can't comment on their quality, but hubby recently came accross a recommendation for them on a woodworking forum They were much cheaper than Kreg screws. still waiting for ours to come.

        • Thanks for the tip! I'll have to check them out.

        • [@masuta] Hubby just did a stress test on a couple of their screws and they seem to be quite fine - drilled both into hardwood without a pilot hole (including one meant for softwood) and they went in fine, no twisting or whatever.

  • thsnks OP, two left at Hallet Cove after I got mine.

  • Yeah thanks OP. Bought one at Ellenbrook WA. 6 left. They also have The Renovator Deluxe Multi-Tool Kit. Marked at $110 but scan at $40 also.
