510

I am very sorry if this deal has been posted, I have never done this before, but I decided to look around the dicksmith website to day and found!!!

It was originally $500, even JB and Harvey Norman have it for $500, but Dick Smith have it for $300!

So I decided to buy it.

I don't mind paying 299.95 cents for it

good work on the first post. And +1 on seeing someone making ¢ents.

  • It was $20 cheaper before the closing down sale. No bargains!

    $279.30

      As per this Ted talk.

People will ignore a good deal because they remember a better deal from the past (never mind what reality is).

      • Have you bought one?

        • +1

I already have 1 which I got for free…kind of a hard deal to beat. But for $300 I would have got one.

    • Did anyone actually successfully buy at that price? I attempted to but the checkout system kept malfunctioning. I also attempted to buy a TV with the same result. The only thing I was able to buy was an external hard drive.

    Please close my post somehow…

Oh well :'( Thought I got my first one.

    • Don't worry, let it be there as DSE want our money before they close.
Item price is $299.97 on DSE site, its more expensive by $0.02.

  • Not sure if it's there anymore, but there was one Logitech DFGT at Liverpool DS. It was marked as $99, and is at 40% off. Not sure if it's 40% off $99, or some magically RRP they might have. This was last Thursday though, so don't know if it's still there. Furthermore, it's Thursday tomorrow, so discounts will more than likely increase.

Potentially $50 for a DFGT is a top deal.

  • $223 was the cheapest it has been from this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/236994

    • +1

that was a pricing error, though hn had this for $275 in the past, after $25 voucher…

    • +1

And it was a pricing error, so not much of a data point.

      • +2

It wasn't a pricing error. They took it off the website but if you went in store, they honoured the price. I got one myself.

        • +5

I got one as well, but that in no way means it wasn't a pricing error. That's WHY they took them off the website, and why they stopped selling them at that price in the shops once head office called them.

        • +5

@Mic Cullen: I got one too for 223….. after ringing them to be told the price was correct and they'd hold one for me for the next day.

Called back after I heard it was a pricing error was told, nope its the promotion.

Next day went in and deal with one of the smuggest pricks i've ever met who tried everything he could to deny everything, eventually he admitted it all and I got it for 223.

Nice how when you back someone into a corner all the bs goes away and they magically know all about the deal…

  • I saw about 5 of these at the Garden City QLD store yesterday. Also about the same number of G29 wheels (the PS3/4-PC version of the G920) were there for the same price.

    • Which price was that $299.95 or $99?

      • $299.95 but I'm guessing they're now down to $250 if they have any left.

        • None left at garden city

  • The ds4 and gold headset are also nicely priced, if you're lucky enough to be anywhere near a DS with stock.

  • Is this good for Euro and American Truck Simulator?

    • Would also like to know.

    • Will be perfectly fine for it, but just realise that the wheel is paddle shift only unless you buy the 6 speed shifter, which for whatever reasons Logitech has, is sold separately.

  • No shifter makes it not worth it for this price

    • This model isn't typically sold with a shifter, so you'd be lucky to find a seller than bundles them together. I read somewhere the shifters from the previous models are compatible so that might be ok for some people.

  • I know that if you are the owner of GRiD, GRiD 2 GRiD autostart, dirt3 dirt showdown, there is a lot of issues with this driving wheel.

I kinda regret buying it now, as the games I play have support for it, but it is bad support :(

    • +1

Those are all "Codemaster" games and are more or less console games designed to be played with a gamepad. If anything blame Codemasters for not really writing proper support for all wheels.

    • Lucky I read this, stopped me buying. My friend's G27 worked fine with Dirt Rally but if the G920 has bad support I don't want to risk it… plus there is no shifter

    • Your best bet are games like Project Cars, Assetto Corsa, Dirt Rally.. the G920/G29 work well in all of them.

  • +1

If you have a PS4 they have the PS4 version for the same price

Hey, never be sorry to post a deal. There are so many long time lurkers here that don't go ahead and post. Myself included. Just do it and let the votes sort it out. Personally, I've been on the fence for getting one of these, now I have one :)

    • +2

Very true! We should be thanking the OP for his contribution :)

I am tempted by the deal though… Imagine VR + Wheels.. Drooools

      • +1

If I get one of these + HTC Vive with Dirt Rally, I will lock myself in the room for two months…

        • +1

Damn I read "dirty wives" and lock myself in the room for two months.

        • @wtfnodeal: wouldn't mind that either although I don't think I'd have enough stamina ;P

  • Just bought this last week for $350 from pccasegear :(

  • Its been at $300 for the a while now with the price ending yesterday. Someone already updated price to $249.95 so a little more patience and a day's wait and its only ~$27 off the historical lowest $223 Harvey Norman price.

    • What are the chances of that happening.
No DS stores is taking calls

      • If you're in Melbourne's South East, I talked to staff at Box Hill yday or the day before and asked about the G29 and stock (though I didnt ask about quantity) is available at Cranbourne and Dandenong, I got to Knox and they had 1 - not on the floor, only in storeroom after asking. Spotted a logitech G633 headset and a ton of joysticks at knox too.

I did see a G920 at Glen Waverley DS on Saturday.

Best is to ask staff regarding stock levels or if a DS employee would come on ozbargain to post.

Seems like another week another 10% off logitech too if anyone can find stock by then.

  • +1

Thank you thank you thank you… Just picked up one and will be getting out forza from the cupboard for a good session tonight

    Now I just need a good stand /racing chair /cage :)

  • Can't find any G920 anywhere local :(

  • Went to the Greensborough (VIC) and they had one in stock, no good for me as I was looking for G29 for PS4. Interesting the store was mostly empty and they had limited stock across all lines, looks like they will be closed soon based on stock levels.

  • Saw one today, was tempted but $250 is still a lot to drop especially with no shifter so didn't buy one. >$200 then we would be in unchartered liquidation territory but just seems like a good sale price. Other things like Toothbrushes, irons and GPS were still more expensive than online and on par (few dollars more or less) with good guys and HN (eg. 195 for an iron v 199 at good guys, navman $249 then online at $230, toothbrush oral b 7000 $213 vs 165 at shaver shop). Logitech mice for $25, selling for $20 online. This liquidation only good for the occasional item and even then don't expect to save that much, the wheel was the best deal so far beyond the eneloops which are always going through seasonal discounts.
