  • 30 bags?
    That's a lot of chewin'.

    • +5

You go through it a lot quicker than you'd think, it's pretty addictive! ;)

      • +1

Hamm might give it a go then. :)

  • +7

I didn't know I liked beef jerky until I tried Geronimo Jerky. Now I order every time they advertise on ozbargain.

    • What's your go to flavour?

I'm interested in the original, teriyaki and pepper flavour.

      • +7

        Buckshot - pepper FTW!!! :D

        • +1

I hate to be a pain, but do you know the calorie per serving count?

I appreciate all the macro's that you provide, i'm not too sure how that translates into calorie intake.

          Cheers!

        • +1

          @Unseatingcargo1: From the pack:

          Energy (kJ/100g) 570/40g serve or 1427/100g…so roughly 136 kCal/serve.

        • +1

          @StewBalls: Not bad at all.

          Cheers mate!

        • +2

@Unseatingcargo1: You should be worrying about sodium intake.
Normal healthy adults (None athletes) have an average recommended sodium intake of 500mg per day.
With the maximum being 2000mg recommended daily intake.

        • @phunkydude:

          look up this scam.

In most recent studies, the group with the highest rate of heart disease are those who followed "traditional" sodium intake guidelines.

The group with the least risk of heart disease consumed more than 4 times the amount of the recommended sodium intake guidelines.

There was one study where it was double blind and contained over 150,000 people over a few years.

          food for thought.

I'm a chili fan, so half my order is usually flamin arrow.

        • +1

I'm going to have to start including more spicy varieties…perhaps the only way to keep the tax-woman out of my stash…

  • Bought some more, so keen to share the chilli ones with dad.

    Addictive stuff!

  • Live for the work day!

  • Got my first batch last special. Amazing stuff. Ordering more. Thanks OP

  • Cheers, finally decided to buy some jerky off you guys. I'm looking forward to eating this.

  • If I order today any chance of getting by Friday? I'm in Sydney.

    • Late I know but it normally takes a couple of weeks as they only make it when your order it.

  • thanks, bought 30 bags

  • Great deal, hate the dodgy password validator. "C0mpl3x P@ssw0rd" is considered very weak. "a1b2c3d4e5f6g7" is considered strong. "a1a1a1a1a1a1a1a1" is weak. "j2j2j2j2" is strong. "p1p1p1p1" is weak, but "p2p2p2p2" is strong. That's the most WTF password strength validator yet.

    • Haha that is kinda funny :P

      • That's why my password is always 'password'. ;)

  • Last time loved the brown sugar one…didnt like the standard one buckshot maybe…bland.

  • Yes! Bought some to try during the easter sale and now I'm hooked! Thanks :)

  • bought 5 and can't wait… drooling right now blaahhhh

  • Flamin Arrow (Our hottest)

Remember buying this 2-3 years back and damn near took my head off.

Have ordered it a couple of times since and I swear it isn't as hot as it used to be (am aware of the increasing-tolerance-over-time thing but a couple of friends have also commented the same).

  • +1

I go here every morning for coffees and toasties!!

  • +1

I'm still waiting for my sample….

  • My experience when I ordered two deals ago. Didnt hear back for over a whole month. They didnt send mine out until I emailed them and asked them where my jerky was!

  • Good stuff. Grabbed a few of each last-time.. made good gifts as well. Bought a dehydrator shortly after and started making my own - Still not as good as Geronimo's though (yet!).

The Sidewinder was my favorite. Hot enough, but mild at the same time.

  • +2

Am I the only one who doesn't like this jerky. I've ordered 3 times and every time it's dry and extremely hard.
Is this how jerky is supposed to be?

    • +15

no, theres something wrong with you.. why would you order it 3 times if you didnt like it the first time…

      • Thought maybe I got a bad batch. Everyone seems to love it.

        • but 3 times?

        • @pikapika:
It was on special. Why not.

        • +1

@Ken_ZomgWtfBbq: Albert Einstein is widely credited with the following quote: “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results”…just saying! ;)

        • +2

          @StewBalls:

But I ordered different flavors :p

        • +1

@Ken_ZomgWtfBbq: LOL, well played sir! :)

        • +1

          @Ken_ZomgWtfBbq:
Then your first response is misleading…

    • +2

That's what I like about it. You can spend some time chewing and drawing out the flavor.

    • +2

Is this how jerky is supposed to be?

Yes, this is exactly how jerky is meant to be. You might have an altered frame of reference from that spongy Jack Links rubbish they sell in supermarkets.

If you prefer a softer texture, you might want to try Biltong.

      • Yeah I grew up eating Chinese beef jerky which is also moist and then I had some jerky from coles which is moist so I had it in my head that it wasn't as dry as this.

        • +1

You'll probably definitely like biltong then, it's a little bit more moist than even niu rou gan IME, so pretty soft.

I like it, but I chomp through it way too fast; like Ayje said, proper jerky/stokkies gives me far more lasting entertainment! ;)

        • +1

          @StewBalls:
          Thanks :)
I'll order some soon! Been eating the Costco jerky and its texture is very similar to plastic.

Will definitely give biltong a go! Thanks again

    • +1

For me the drier and harder it is, the better! I like jerky you can snap (or at least by bending it back and forth a few times) rather than chewy stuff that's comparable to a car tyre and seems impossible to break.

    • I found the pepper one like this ..wasnt great at all.

      BUT

The brown sugar one was really good.

    • Yes, jerky is dry and rather chewy. You would prefer biltong, it's more moist and less chewy. Jerky is meat sliced thinly and dehydrated, biltong is left as a larger cut of meat, dehydrated (less than jerky), and then sliced.

A good tip for jerky newbies is to cut it up first with some strong scissors/kitchen shears into smaller pieces. Saves your teeth.

  • How many 40g packs can you eat in a day?

  • First time ordering. Ordered 30 x 40g.
How do these compare to jack links from Coles?

    • +2

      it's actual jerky

    • +2

LOL jacks is crap compared to this !

    • They aren't comparable..Jack is like a lolly compared to this. AND Jack has so much extra indigents which makes you wonder what their idea of jerky really is.

  • +2

Don't binge on Flamin' Arrow, even if you don't think it's hot! My sister and I had a bad stomach ache for the next 2-3 days…

    • +1

      Soft

      • We binged on it because we didn't find it very hot, no drinks were required. We each had a 200g bag. Internal organs are in fact soft.

        • +2

          200g bag… ok, that's quite a lot

        • +1

@smokenmirraz: Too addictive to stop, I'm glad this deal is for 40g bags!

        • +2

@Kilgharrah: Same, I really like this format…perfect size for portion control! :)

  • I'm really looking forward to receiving my order.

  • What's the expiry date usual like?

    • 6 months

  • Really nice stuff but my jaw has only just stopped aching from the last order a few months ago.

  • At my last one yesterday at St Kilda v Collngwood (MCG). great deal - will order again :-)

  • Awesome..I was just checking here yesterday to see if there was a deal and didn't see one but today there is…Happily order 30 this time round. Was so addictive :D

  • When does the deal end chief?

  • Wow. So much love for this jerky that I had to try this for myself.
Decided to grab 30 packs, but I didn't choose the blazin saddles or flaming arrows. Kinda regret not getting at least one of each now. Oh wells. Can't wait to get my jerky and chew till my jaws hurt. :)

  • Would love to get some, but error message: "This coupon has expired"……. :(

    • +2

Contact them, the same thing happened to me once, they'll sort it out for you! :)

  • +5

    Hello All,

I just extended the deal for another day as some people didn't see it on the weekend. Spread the word ;-)

    The Big Chief

    • Thanks Chief!

Just squeezed in an order :)

    • I was one of those, 30 packs ordered. Thanks big guy :)

    • Can't extend one more day can you?? Missed out and want to order 30!

  • +1

I don't need individual packaging. Could you put 3kg in a sealed bad and send to me?

  • lucky it got extended just ordered thanks!

  • Does terms and conditions #4 means it can take up to 10 business days before orders are shipped out? Curious on what the average time between placing and order and receiving the order is if you live in a capital city.

  • +1

Its nearly the long weekend and no jerky has been received :(

  • Drat. Missed it again.

  • +1

yea, has anyone received their jerky? Taking a long time….

    • +1

no I have not received anything and there is no shipping infor either.

    • +1

      Haven't received mine either.

      • Maybe all the cows in QLD have been ozbargained by this deal.

  • +1

I'm still waiting on my order.. Placed my order on the 10th April.. Anyone still waiting at this time? Maybe the Store rep can shed some light?

    • Yeah I placed my order on the 11th of April and no sign of anything yet, checked my Geronimo account and order is still "Processing". Contacted them via email as my last 2 orders were recieved in approx 2 weeks.

  • I got my order last Friday. Unfortunately I only received 9 packets not 10. I have emailed them and will see if i get a reply.

  • Only just got my email. Poor form when this was advertised as a long weekend offer and it never made it for the long weekend. Also emails and feedback here and on facebook not responded to by reps. Whats going on?

  • have not received any confirmation that the jerky was sent out….pretty slow

  • I am in the same boat $100 order on the 10th . they are not picking up phone calls . and no response from my email I sent. Maybe new business model is Great taste , bad service ?
    Just pretty disappointed.

    • Hey All, We had over 400 orders and have sent most of them within the promised 10 working days. If you have called on weekend or after 3pm the jerky staff are packed up and gone home.
We have stated 10 working days but if it is over ten working days to please email us. In some causes we have had people asking where there order is 2 days after they ordered it. We have tried to respond to everyones email in a timely fashion but this takes away from getting orders out. Please remember that we stated ten working days.

I am expecting all orders will be out tomorrow and staff will email the remaining tracking numbers. Please check spam folder as the filters don't like jerky for some reason :-)
Staff normally update tracking numbers the day after as we are sending a very large number of items morning and afternoon.

  • My order has been marked as completed and I was e-mailed a tracking number this morning. I can understand there can be delays due to the spike in the volume of orders, but some improvements can definitely be made in preparing for said spike due to the promotion.

    • I agree @Mucchan-But we have been doing this same sale for the past year and we have completed sending out orders by said time-frame. I have no problem stating a time frame and if it is met we have done our job. As of Monday it was ten working days and most orders where sent out but we failed in 25 orders which have been sent outside of this timeframe. We will look at what went wrong and try to fix it, perhaps the sale is too good…

  • +1

Now aussie post is holding up my jerky. Hasn't even left qld :( #forevernojerky

  • +1

Got my shipping confirmation yesterday finally. Was well over the 10 day time frame, but I think with this kind of sale "Ozbargained" was to be expected.

  • +2

Got my jerky this morning. The taste is definitely worth the wait. Count me as a satisfied customer. :)
