As per title, every new pet insurance policy nets a $50 Woolworths gift card. This week's catalogue also mentions getting $25 Woolworths Dollars with a new policies with promo code PET16, but I'm not sure if they can be combined (can't read small print on the online catalogue).

They also have a price beat guarantee.

Not really a bargain if the insurance ends up costing you more than $50 more than other places…

    • +2

Obviously. But had you read my post, you'd see that they have a price beat guarantee.

  • Can you take out the insurance, then cancel, receive a pro-rata refund, But keep the gift card?

    • +1

Possibly, but the gift card isn't sent for 2 months which is likely to cost more than $50.

  • Just called Woolworths Pet Insurance. I was told it's a one year contract, even though you have option of paying fortnightly, monthly or annually. There is a cooling off period. I asked what would happen if I wanted to cancel the policy sooner if something terrible happened, like the death of the pet, I was told they would look at such cases individually and most likely allow me to cancel, but reminded me that this is a one year policy. I thought you could cancel almost all insurance policies, like car, home, content and health whenever you wanted to.

    • You can, according to their website. If you pay yearly you can get it pro-rated, or with fortnightly or weekly payment you can cancel any time.

    • You can cancel

  • Does any pet insurance company cover luxating patella?

    • Some do, you'll need to check with the insurer. If you're a member of Choice magazine, they have a new review done this month.

Here is the link to the Choice Buys. I have included Medibank Silver because I currently have pets insured under this and just wanted to compare.

BTW all pet insurance in Oz is underwritten by only 2 companies.

  • I'd rather buy from an insurance company that I've heard of than this, no deal.

    • you need to get out more buddy
