  • still awaiting my order from geekbuying on the 1/4 to be processed and hopefully shipped. Not the best service so far.
email to find out order update, still awaiting reply.

    • PM me your order number and I'll find out.

  • is android 5.1 stronger than krillin

    • Can these units use usb TV tuner and use as Dvr?

      • sorry mate i know nothing about these things, which is why i asked the question…mainly want something to use as a media player and the whole android thing seems a bit of a bonus….appears to me 2gb ram is possibly the most important thing to look for….but they're so cheap i guess you can't really lose..

    • +1

This comparison of the S905 (CPU in the box you linked) and S812 (Tronsmart MXIII) should help you out. Basically the S812 outperforms the S905 but the video support is slightly better in the S905.

The main advantage of Amlogic S905 over S812 is support for HDMI 2.0 ports allowing 2160p @ 60 Hz video output, and 4K H.265 hardware video decoding up to 60 fps, while both are limited to 30 Hz on S812.

If you're interested in an S905 box I can probably get you a discount on one.

      • S905 supports Miracast Airplay DLNA SMB WiDi.

Op, can you find out if Xiaomi mi box 3 pro can be used here?

I heard it needs a Chinese mobile number for initial setup.

        Thanks

      • thanks for reply…i guess that the other one only really interested me because it was au$50…can you install nba league pass on to one of these??

        • That's done through the NBA app right? All of my TV boxes are listing it as compatible.

        • yeah, you're right about league pass, i guess they'd all do it….this looks pretty good actually….will it decode dts-hd and dolby true-hd??? if it doesn't, are there any that do??? does it come with an australian plug??

      • Would love a discounted price on the S905 box

      • +1

Hi Rep, can you pls get S905 box with discount, I am going to buy one, thanks.

  • Ordered one. Will see how it goes. Will do a review around a week after arrival. See how this experience goes

    • MINIX control the price of their TV boxes. The best I can do this week is $123.41. Next week I can probably go lower.

  • Total newbie to Android TV boxes…and need a bit of help. (Caveat: I'm not a gamer. Just looking for something to watch OS channels, to be honest.)

What's the difference between this deal and this one below?

    http://www.geekbuying.com/item/MXQ-Pro-4K-Ultra-HD-KODI-Andr…

Is there a clear standout for a reason I'm obviously missing? Is S812 (Tronsmart) worse than S905 (MXQ Pro)?

Tronsmart seems to be quite a good quality brand. I'm just wondering if that's the only reason to pay the extra price.

    • i'm in same boat as you and don't know a whole lot about these things and trying to work out what to buy myself….the box you're looking at there only has 1gb ram and it appears from my research 2gb of ram is really important…

      • 1GB of RAM is fine for media playback. 2GB is essential if you're going to play games.

    • This benchmark shows the difference between S905 and S812.
