    What would one do with two mobile phones of the same kind? Why not just sell one for a discount? 20% discount would have worked about the same and attracted more buyers, I guess.

      This was just an example… they also have the s6 and Note 5, i guess the offer is aimed at people who have friends who are looking for a new phone atm.

      also the same buy 1 get 1 1/2 price is available on a whole heap of other products other that mobiles so nothing stopping you from buying a mobile and getting a 1/2 price washing machine for example.

          of course they dont want you to buy one item at a discount - that means you spend only $1000, they want you to spend a heap more.. Same goes with woolies and coles with the buy 3 and get a dollar off.
          It bugs me too and I rarely buy sales like that.

          but you could buy one and get an airconditioner for half price for example. would need to check prices as they all look like normal rrp.

          @PVA: You're right. Many businesses try to pull that trick these days. I am usually a sucker when it's two items for half price (like shoes etc). This 'buy one and get the second half price' is a tactic to empty consumers' pockets, I agree.

    the second one doesn't have to be the same stuff. Basically, if you buy a mobile worth $1000 then you can get 50% off of any thing elseof equal or lesser value, such as fridge or tv. You dont have to buy 2 same mobile

    Problem is some of their prices are ridiculously bad. For instance, even with this special you could grab 2 Sony 6 series Blu-Ray players for less @ JB Hi-Fi.

    worth mentioning when i was working there years ago and we had this promo the 2 items will appear on the same invoice under 1 name. Just something to keep in mind if you have warranty issues.
