  • Can you please tell me which Scoot flights are able to be pricematched with Jetstar?

    • +1
      • well from what I can see none of the $139 Scoot fares can be price beaten by Jetstar as they dont fall within the eligible criteria, as Jetstar flights to Singapore are not within 1 hour of the Scoot flights. Im happy to be proven wrong, but there is no Jetstar Pricebeat guarantee available here.

        Jetstar departure time 11.15am
        Scoot departure time 12.20 pm

Im sure its no accident that jetstar has scheduled their flight 1 hour and 5 minutes within Scoots time so they dont have to price beat.

          • Within the same calendar day if they’re international flights (excluding flights within Asia and flights between Australia and New Zealand)

This is an international flight and not within Asia nor between New Zealand and Australia, therefore this can be price-beat on the basis of being on the same calendar day

        • +1

          Same day for international flight

      • Will Jetstar pricematch against Scoot Biz class ?

  • Also, there are no June dates available at this price, all I can see is dates to the end of May. Again happy to be proven wrong. Also happy to upvote for the great $278 return price!! (If booking though you need to uncheck all the pre checked boxes or else the cost of the $139 flight can easily more than double when checked in luggage, wifi, food, entertainment pack, priority boarding, insurance, credit card fees and seat selection are added!!)

If you can HLO and pay by POLI and skip all those little creature comforts for 8 hours its a great deal, or else a full service carrier can do the same job for probably less cost, and a more friendly departure time from SIN, Scoots departure is scheduled at 1.20am for the direct flight

i actually like these late night departures.

check out of your hotel at 12 (after requesting late check out). ask to leave your bags at hotel - they never refuse. go out for the day, have a lavish/final dinner around 9. back to hotel to pick up luggage, off to airport. chillax. singapore airport is pretty good. the Indian/vegetarian restaurant at terminal 2(?) is awesome (really really awesome,- I'd starve myself for 24 hours beforehand if I knew I was going there). then onto to the plane. some fine pharmaceuticals = nice snoozy wonderland. and then back in Aus.

      • I love Singapore. Changi for me is a day trip in itself (I love airports also)

And I want to stay at Sentosa again. Money saved on airfare will go directly to the resort!!

You can pricematch the Jetstar flight with better time leaving at 9pm

Thanks for your help everybody!! Booked with Jetstar pricebeat for MEL-SIN return for just $250.20!!! AMAZING and no credit card fee because of pricebeat.

  • Seems like it applies for ex Sydney flights too!

  • The last time I was in Singapore was 2013 ans thought Id never get a better return fare of $360

  • Very tempted by this. Can anyone one provide any good info or tips about traveling to Singapore ?

I stay at Sentosa Island- thats a weeks worth of entertainment in itself. But theres thu usual touristy things- night zoo, big wheel, fab food. Marina bay sands casino is nice too, shopping at vivo nice, all very close by to each other

Make sure you go 'Gardens by the bay'. They have a night sound and light show (free) and also you can wander the gardens for a LONG time. Its so lovely.

Also go to the observation deck atop Marina bay sands. Theres a special public entry and you pay like 25 or so SGD, and catch a lift up to the top sky walk promenade area. Go just before sunset and you have the most amazing view from both sides - singapore river and cbd area and also across to the stadium and across with views to Indonesia.

but book your hotel first and team it up with this spend spend $200 on a hotel through Jetstar hotels which you can combine with their spend $200 get a $50 flight voucher deal thanks EC.

Hotels in Singapore aren't cheap so it's easy to spend $200.

Jetstar hotels have a 10% price beat so shop around for the cheapest hotel prices first.

$250 (jetstar flight price match)-$50 flight voucher = $200 singapore return ticket.

If you can be bothered saving more and need more than 1 ticket then you can save with a multistep purchase and combination of free vouchers.

when you book a jetstar flight then usually they send you a $25 hotel voucher.

    so:
    (1) book jetstar hotel (shop around for the cheapest hotel else where and jetstar will 10% price beat it) at least $200 worth. get $50 flight voucher
    (2) book 1 flight ticket and use $50 voucher. get $25 hotel voucher.
    (3) book further jetstar accomodation ($25 hotel voucher) and get $50 flight voucher
    (4) book next flight ticket and $50 flight voucher,
    repeat until everything booked.

    • Unlikely the flights are still available for this price when you receive your $50 Jetstar voucher from the hotel deal…

Also, if you search separately for the return SIN-MEL through the Singaporean website there are more flights available for the cheaper price($149 SGD = ~$140AU). For example June 9-13th are $299 through the Australian site and $140 the the Singapore one. You can price beat these with Jetstar still and I usually find it safer to book seperate flights just in case you miss/need to to change the outbound leg you can still use the return flight whereas if it's booked on the one ticket you forfeit the return flight if you miss the outbound.

    • do you use a VPN location changer - or just switch to the singaporean site entry?

      • +1

Just searching for one way flights departing from Singapore will change it.

I tried out the separate bookings and it works great! thanks for sharing.

          @lifethroughthelens:

Happy to help! I manage to score a $140 one way ticket for the return during the middle of school holidays a couple of sales back by doing this, so always worth checking!

I agree with this to an extent, but what's stopping you from simply making changes to only one of your two flights on a return ticket? No doubt it would be cheaper to book it as two separate one ways, but something that is probably quite important to keep in mind is if you get disrupted on your return flight (cancellation, significant delay), you'd be more likely to be looked after because you're not in your city/country of origin, i.e. you'd need a place to stay.

I'd imagine you'd have a harder time getting looked after if you book them as two separate one ways.

Arguably it may be worth paying the extra, almost as a form of "insurance".

      • Yes and no. That's what insurance is for to step in when the airline doesn't. Saying that, Scoot has the worst terms of conditions in the market and you'd have 0% trying to recover money in Singapore but perhaps a bit more with an "Australian bought" ticket where they are subject to Australian consumer law. eg. Their Australian policy allows a refund for disrupted travel but their Singaporean policy offers a 6 month voucher.

Nothing stopping you making changes to the ticket but sometimes, for instance changing the destination on one leg, is not allowed. I've just had a look and Scoot change fees are pretty reasonable at $90AUD for time and even name change. I'd still just suggest decent travel insurance and separate bookings usually though.

  • Is any deal from Sydney to Singapore?

    • Yep, check Scoot site out. $149 during May.

      • Thanks man,but my holiday is in Aug,and the price is $219 one way.
Is it a good idea book it now or wait for next special?

        • Sign up for the newsletter and they have a sale every week. You should be able to get it at at least $189.
