Too bad you didn't wait for this phone in your trip to take beautiful pictures with :p

    • Now that was funny. Nice!

  • just a quick question..are we able to get TRS for products purchased in ebay. Im flying overseas in a months time.

    • +3

It comes from HK so I don't think you get a tax invoice - so, no.

    • -2

      Yes you can,
as long as you have a tax invoice from kogan with ABN.

    • Comes from Kogan HK, therefore no Australian GST paid by you: hence cheaper.
No GST paid in the first place, means no GST to refund to you by TRS.

Almost bought one from mobicity, thanks for posting this.

now have to find something for that $170 i didn't get to spend.

Had the 6P for a week now. Love it so far - gorgeous screen, awesome camera, nice finish and crazy fast.

    • Is it too large?

      • Depends on what you deem "too large". I used this phone for a month before opting for the Nexus 5X for $314 from eGlobal through the deal posted last weekend. Absolutely loving it. The screen and battery life on the Nexus 6P is great but it wasn't worth sacrificing one hand usability but that's just my opinion.

        • According to https://youtu.be/e1QFzSUPRgE (2:03 mark), Nexus 5X is ok for lightweight/simple usage but for power users 6P is better.

        • +3

@sridhar: My 5x will put up with anything I chuck at it (GTA San Andreas, Final Fantasy series, etc)

2GB RAM doesn't really make a difference with 6.0 and I leave pretty much the entire OS stock so..

        • +1

@sridhar: consider the Moto x play if you want something inbetween the 5x and 6p (also has a way bigger battery and I found superior antennas for 4g than the 5x). Motos are the only other android phone running pure android nowdays.

@RI4V4N: this is what I decided on, yet can't find one anywhere…

        • +1

@bejahi: I bought mine outright from vodaphone but one of the store members wasn't super keen on the others selling it anymore outright.

        • @bejahi: Same here. They're exclusive to Vodafone unfortunately and there's no way I'm risking moving from Telstra for Vodafone's crappy coverage

        • +1

          @stdusract:
Kogan just listed stock for the Moto x play in their eBay sale (it was previously out of stock).

Bought one for $400 with code. Apparently it's already been shipped! Can't wait :)

        • @bejahi:

Thanks for letting me know :-)

I've had the Galaxy Note 2, GS5 and Elephone P8000 previously, so not for me. YMMV.

      • The 6p is a little big, which is ok for me, I just find it a bit on the heavy side.

    • I've had it since October 2015, great phone, couldn't be happier.

  • Does this one have the right bands for Aus? Is 4G usable?

  • +7

Still waiting for mine to arrive from the last Kogan deal. It was finally dispatched yesterday. So just a warning that Kogan like to sell stock they don't actually have, so you may find yourself with a long wait if they don't have enough stock on hand.

    • Same boat. Any idea how to track the order? Tried to before but got an error. Honestly the $25 voucher is a joke.

    • +1

I've ordered the 32GB aluminium one as well from that deal and later cancelled it because of the delay. This time around I went for 64GB black. I will probably buy the 3-pack screen protector from their site for putting the $25 coupon to use.

    • I cancelled mine from the last deal. A month to deliver a 6month old phone from one of the most heavily supplied tech cities in the world? Kogans logistics are embarrassing to say the least.

  • Decent price, but I'm still annoyed at missing out on that last deal. Don't think I can pull the trigger since it's $50 more.

    • but I'm still annoyed at missing out on that last deal.

Dont be, they havent received their phones yet.

      • Apparently only those that ordered the silver ones didn't. Many received their black ones.

        • Actually I got my Aluminium 64gb 2weeks ago.

        • @shaz0316: It was the 32GB Aluminium's that were the issue.

        • +1

          @Pry:
Actually, I received mine within a week of ordering which was amazing from them given the Easter weekend. Very happy with the phone. And yes mine was a silver 32gb

        • +1

@baj: Sure, I'm not saying every single one took forever for them to send, only the ones they sold once they had run out of stock.

  • -2

Is this Aus stock? will it work on Telstra 4GX?

    • No. Apparently.

  • i cant seem to get it at $579.69 for the 32gb, only at $673.20 with the cooling off code?

  • Seems like the white and black 32GB versions went up in price :\

  • +5

I suppose everyones experience is different. However my order during the last Kogan 20% eBay promo was a bit of a disaster. The order took over 4 weeks. I had to chase up & find out myself there had been a delay. Then I only received the adapter for the product I purchased. The prices are good, the service is very so so.

  • +2

I still haven't got mine from the previous order…. :(

  • +3

Bought and received the nexus 6p from the last kogan deal.
Can confirm that it is the H1512 variant, that includes the Australian compatible 4g bands.

  • +1

Just wanted to let the buyers/potential buyers know I bought mine from kogan when the $530 deal was on. At first I was a bit hesitant on buying a grey import phone as I previously had horrible experience with a grey s5 (with another vendor though).

But I can definitely confirm that this one is worth every cent. The device is extremely snappy and I've had no issues whatsoever compared to my friends' (Australian version) 6Ps. It was the H1512 model(later version which supports the extra LTE bandwidth I think).

My shipping time was about 2.5 weeks. But judging from the comments I am guessing it could take up to 4 weeks :)

  • If you're after local stock, check out some Whirlpool forum tips on price matching at JB with Optus ;)

    • Didn't work when I tried at two different JBHiFi stores.

      • +1

I pricematched Optus at HN near launch, got a 64gb for $744 I think as HN only stock 64gb and Optus 32gb :)

I just wish they'd fix the bloody Bluetooth, even the most recent update last week didn't.

        • +1

Agreed massive blue tooth issues..that and it seems really slow tethering..but other than that fantastic phone

        • @Tseng: What problems do you have exactly? Mine works without issues.

        • @Colombian: hi Colombian my 6p can't detect my sony wireless headphones via Bluetooth. Also when setting up hotspot on 6p it seems to tether data very slowly in comparison to hotspot on my old note 3. Let me know if u can assist mate I had a look a forums and couldn't find a solution

        • @Tseng: Sorry to read that, and sorry for not being of help. I currently have my 6P paired to my Phonak Compilot which transfers the call signal to my hearing aids. So far it is working without issues.

I have not tried the hotspot though.

        • @Tseng: I would recommend power cycling both devices and trying to pair again in a region where there is little other Bluetooth devices. I had a few issues with my monsters but it worked once and pairs easily now.

        • @Tseng: have had no Bluetooth issues. I would notifyof fault.

  • The only downside of this phone is the brightness in full daylight. It is very poor when compared with my old Nexus 5.

    • I do agree the automatic brightness could be worked on but I easily adjust it with a swipe down and swipe left or right. Mine seemed to improve a bit when I put on a tempered glass cover

  • This is a great deal. I paid 1200 for my 128gig. 64 is sufficient…… Best phone I have ever used. It excels at pics and runs so smooth. The best feature is it physical longevity. Ive had Samsung iphone, Sony's and lgs and they would be wrecked by now. The 6p still looks feels and operates like new after 6 months. Fav feature is figure print perfectly placed.
