  • Genuinely 1 day? Last time you said that, you extended it…

    • +3

Yes, we only have extended offers because people asked us to, who missed out. So it's in the interest of serving OzBargainers better. To be accurate though, I think it may have said: "sellingoutsoon.com.au reserves the right to change or end this promotion early, for any reason, with no prior notice". And while this one does say that too: it is a 1 DAY DEAL - will not be extended. There isn't enough stock to extend it, even if we wanted to. Thank you.

      • +1

To say a deal is 24hrs only, promotes people to make rush decisions to purchase. To then extend the offer beyond the advertised 24hrs is deceitful.

  • Hope you like the deal OzBargainers….heaps of people ask us for Vita deals, and we have a few extra here we've discounted by way of this deal. Please view the deal to see exact pictures of the item, and how absolutely perfect the stock is (for collectors). Any questions can be answered tomorrow, so please be patient if you have a question. Cheers guys :)

  • +2

was roughly around $33 delivered from MightyApe before. No Deal.

    • Hello :) do you have a link? Because I can't find that anywhere.

  • +1

Kudos for being open about cheaper versions.

    • +1

It's cool, thanks for noticing :) we're aware that this is OzBargain and people want value, so we try to articulate the constituent elements of value wherever possible, so you know what you're getting. We don't always get everything perfect, but if we don't we apologise and try to make it right. And most of the time people get outstanding results. And we triple checked all the stock this time!

  • I don't think you implemented and of the constructive feedback given by users in the previous MGS thread. You've changed OP.

    • The deal is correct, the item is factory-sealed, exactly as described, and the shipping times are accurate. Is there any other info you need?

      • *any. Go through the thread again and you'll see they're some things you should amend.

        • General opinions aside, anything actually wrong?

        • +2

@sellingoutsoon: Just suggesting you should implement the feedback given regarding your posts on OzB.

  • mmm, If I buy it this time….will there be enough stock….

    • Right now, yes

      • +1

not trying to be negative….just I didn't get my last order due to incorrect stock allotment(or something of that nature….)

        • Which product was it?

        • @sellingoutsoon: I think Omega Quintet…

        • +1

@Forfiet: Yes that was weird. Senior person in charge of stock allocation (not at Selling Out Soon) made a typo…they were only out by 100 units… We have counter-measures to prevent this now. So you definitely will not miss out for any reason like that. Presently enough stock if you order now.

        • @sellingoutsoon: well I'll certainly think about it…. :)

        • @Forfiet: OK :)

  • I am trying to read the privacy policy and other really important stuff on the webpage and they are shoving pop ups and blocking me from reading the very important info i want to read

Bloody great big "sign up s**t" all over the page

useless webpage, bloody popups, come off the grass …..leave me alone to read.

    Talk about pushy…

    • Go back, with same IP address, and the "sign up to deals popup" shouldn't pop-up again. And if it's the chat box in right hand corner, just click the reduce button. I've sent you a message in case you need any specific help.

  • Now if only I have a ps vita first…

  • Thanks OP

    • Thanks EC :)

  • I remember this went on sale on PSN for $28 or lower months ago. Unless you want physical game cartridge otherwise just wait for the next PSN sale to save $10.

  • Would have popped at $30 but at $38.88 might be worth waiting. Not a bad price though rep :)

    Responding to this

General opinions aside, anything actually wrong?

Yes, it was said (by me and many others) in your last deal that your posts (and responses to enquiries) are way too long, with too many details hidden away or only really found if people read through the whole text carefully. Unfortunately this does not happen or people skim through and misinterpret leading to people thinking they've been misled or outright scammed. You've done it again here.

Also there are things like "1 Day Day - will not be extended" and all orders before midnight tonight will get a free upgrade etc, but then the deal runs until tomorrow? So is it one or two days? If it's a one day deal, logic dictates all orders would receive the order, so is that not entirely redundant?

Also, as mentioned by others in other deals posted today, using ANZAC in your coupon code is considered distasteful (and can be offensive) given today is about commemoration and not celebration or shopping.

Anyway, here is my attempt to shorten your deal description (won't bother adding the links, but you'll get the idea.

On sale for $38.88 delivered is Dynasty Warriors Complete Edition for PS Vita. Use code ANZAC-SAVE-21 at checkout to get this price. It is factory sealed Australian >stock.

First 10 buyers get free upgrade to priority shipping (ships Tuesday 26th)
Orders made before midnight 25/4 will get tracking + signature
Other delivery options available (costs apply)
    Ships to Australian addresses only
    Max 1 per customer
Store reserves right to change/end offer at any time for any reason, all sales final. No cancellations/refunds unless item is faulty as per ACL

Stock is low but will ship within 2 business days.

Pricing may be lower overseas but it won't be Australian stock/sent from Sydney. It is more costly elsewhere (examples)

PS, keep an eye out for our store as we are expanding our range.

Please subscribe to be the first to see new deals.

Word Count - 497 (yours) against 142 (mine)

I'm fairly confident I've covered everything you've mentioned minus a few specific examples of competitor pricing but you seriously don't need to ask people to subscribe (twice!) or have 3 different points on shipping in different places in your description.

      Anzac day special offer?

Coming from a service family, Very disrespectful.

sOs you guys have just hit new lows.

Please change the code. My great uncle and a lot of others didn't fight for you to mis-use the name for sales.

      • I agree.

Just have a sale, don't try and tie our Anzacs into it in anyway please. Poor form.

        • -3

Woolies did the same thing today as well, my local store got busted for opening earlier and making the bakers come in and handing out anzac cards with purchases of items.

When did it suddenly become ok to use the memories of the fallen like that?

        • -1

          @acex1138:
          Mungrels.
It has never been OK. (and who are the ones that negged your first comment).

Went to a service today, it is still very emotional for a lot of people. Big turn out with young and old.

Woolies on the coast here are all closed today - maybe the one in central surfersparadise is open as it's in the centre of a tourist area.

        • -1

          @PVA:

Some of them we're allowed to open from either 12 or 1pm depending on state but werent allowed to have workers in before that.

Mine had people baking bread during the services :(

From the sands of galippioli, and all those who have served since to the brothers and sisters still out in a desert fighting… they're all heroes who's service won't be forgotten.

          Just change the code guys.

    • Get rekt.

    • Well put IceCreamBandit.

One can only hope that the sos rep will take your advice on board!

  • +1

A lot of technicalities….whatever happened to KISS?

    • +2

Same thing with every post these guys do… And we make the same 'recommendations' every time :/

  • Thanks for Vita game. Keep Vita stuffs coming plz.

It's NOT LEGAL to use Anzac in the code. The fine is $10200 to $51000.

    http://www.dva.gov.au/commemorations-memorials-and-war-grave…

"The Protection of Word ‘Anzac’ Regulations state that ‘no person may use the word ‘Anzac’, or any word resembling it, in connection with any trade, business…without the authority of the Minister for Veterans' Affairs.’"

    • -1

No respect for soldiers and they've used everyone they can to neg my comment…..

It's now been over an hour and they have not even apologized or taken it down.

I think it's gone beyond ignorance now.

      • To be fair, it is after 10 PM now. No one can expect them to check OZB 24/7.

        • -1

Also to be fair, I'm just warning the seller.

I wouldn't want to see him get fined: that's just messed up (the damage to the person, given the company structure, would be unreasonable. Especially considering most people probably aren't aware of this law)

Anyway, it's also grey area, being just a coupon code.

        • @justtoreply: Huh? I was not replying to your comment.

        • @wiwin:

Yeah I clicked on the wrong reply button.

        • @justtoreply:

And after all this they didn't remove this or apologize… sad.

        • @acex1138: Rep hasn't been online since yesterday as indicated when clicking on their username.

        • +1

          @TheOneWhoKnocks:
Rep is online as of 1845 NSW time.

          Hope they are reading this!

  • -1

    Good news everyone :)

    • Everything went like clockwork, all orders were checked at every level to ensure 100% accuracy, and have already shipped as per whatever the deal said.

    Regarding comments, I'll answer here:

    • Yes it's certainly true that OzBargain measures deals in days, not hours. So if we want at least 24 hours but not 48, we're forced to end of next day at around midnight. If they measured in hours, we'd be able to be really accurate. Maybe that would be useful to someone. Where can we suggest that to OzBargain?
    • Yes, you seem more succinct than I. Some people like long-form text, and have complimented us on that. But some don't. It's hard to please everybody. Unless you're a politician, in which case it's super easy all the time. Not :)
    • About advertising: I've never seen a McDonalds ad say: "Big Mac, $4.35". Posts by reps are likely to lean more towards "sales" than "accounting" - think "ad" not "menu" :)
    • Anzac code: definitely wouldn't have expected that could offend anyone, it was actually discussed, and it was thought it could be disrespectful not to mention our Anzac heritage on Anzac Day.

In terms of actual definitions, the DVA website mentioned asks: "When can the word Anzac be used without permission from the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs?" And answers: "The words 'Anzac Day' may be used in connection with certain events or entertainment held on 25 April itself, or on consecutive days including 25 April." Games may be arguable as entertainment, or a sales event as an event, but either way video games certainly aren't "not entertainment", according to Wikipedia, which states: "As of 2015, video games generated sales of USD 74 billion annually worldwide, and were the third-largest segment in the U.S. entertainment market, behind broadcast and cable TV." Yes, an American reference, but widely accepted, and it would be surprising if Australians played games for reasons other than entertainment. If so, we can set up a poll for voting on the subject, as it would be interesting to find out if Australians play for reasons other than entertainment, and to test the parameters Australians would deem appropriate for limitation of the definition of the word "entertainment", as pertains to both legal discourse and common speech lexical semantics.

Already in place, on your expiry just put (for example) " 10:00pm" after the date. Times are in AEST.

      Some people like long-form text

No one has ever thanked you for a long description, and it actually confused buyers last time.

"The words 'Anzac Day' may be used in connection with certain events or entertainment held on 25 April itself, or on consecutive days including 25 April."

Yeah, I don't think a gaming sale is part of the entertainment they were referring to, and you'd have to be all kinds of special to think that they were.

    • +2

Some people like long-form text, and have complimented us on that.

Proof? I can easily find comments from users asking you to keep it short. It saves everyone time (writing and reading) and keeps the deal simple to comprehend. Why on earth your deal has information on shipping in 4 different places is beyond me. But from your response it appears advice from myself and others will continue to be ignored.

About advertising: I've never seen a McDonalds ad say: "Big Mac, $4.35". Posts by reps are likely to lean more towards "sales" than "accounting" - think "ad" not "menu" :)

Let me show you this in the OzBargain FAQ for Reps

This is a bargain site where people are looking for bargains. Unlike other sites, we let representatives post here as a privilege.

Simply put, OzBargain is a site where users posts the best possible deals on any given product. The only 'marketing speak' needed for us is the price. Yes of course advertisements use plenty of adjectives and other techniques to get attention (and sales), but OzBargain is not a place for you to advertise. It is a place for reps to post deals.

Our positive comments and votes become the marketing if you get things right as a rep.As I've already said, the price should be more than enough to justify your post, without the need for xxx number of reminders to subscribe.

In terms of actual definitions, the DVA website mentioned asks….

Skimmed through, saw mentions of American stuff and stopped reading. Again with the unnecessary paragraphs of text that reference random stuff? Last time you mentioned domestic violence, and now the American entertainment market? You simply refuse to take on board constructive criticism by deflecting to random information.

On that note, let me finish with another quote from the FAQ for reps

Reps shouldn't argue with shoppers as they are potential customers.

That should speak volumes without needing to write a novella.

  • -1

Thanks for your help spackbase :)

Already in place, on your expiry just put (for example) " 10:00pm" after the date. Times are in AEST.

    Really? But how though, exactly?

    Anzac

Actually, if it's in legislation, it may have to be formally defined. I'd imagine it can't be vague or subject to supposition/hearsay. Let's not argue it though, you can ask DVA if you like, I'm sure they'll have qualified people who know what they're talking about far more than either of us.

No one has ever thanked you for a long description

If you look carefully, you'll find at least two, possibly more. It's there for everyone to see. Someone clever could probably find the references much faster than I ever could. Heaps of people here on OzBargain are good at searchy-things.

    Have a great night.

    • +2

      Sigh

      1) I clearly explained how.

      2) I don't need to research it, you should be the 1 that thinks twice about combining a fighting game with an Anzac coupon code.

      3) 2 people have liked your long posts? Please! 6 up votes on IceCreamBandit's comment earlier prove that at least 7 think you should Keep It Simple… But I don't think you ever will.

      • Spackbace - Some people never learn!

        54 comments. +9 votes, -1 downvote.

9 OzB members must have bought the game!

        • +1

Yeah well someone's slinging neg votes around, yet without supporting the rep… Interesting!

  • +1

The word Anzac is not meant to be used in connection with business. It's stated very clearly. Don't confuse yourself.

    • -1

Please read below, which (no offence) may show your negative vote to be a little harsh.

      • +1

can't wait for you to bury him with negs to over it as well.

You've now told enlisted people serving in the defense force as well as forum members with relatives who served anything you can to defend it when you should have just been respectful and gone hey, we used anzac in a way that many consider bad taste.

We don't care what they laws are, we don't care if you get a penalty, we just care that you could have said, hey here is a deal, here is a price. Referencing anzac day in a code on anzac day, yeah you probably weren't intending to offend, but the way you did, did offend and you need to accept that apologize and move on.

Please remember as stated above, no one here wants to argue with you, no one wants to watch you argue (it's a bad look for a business.)

Best advice you are ever going to get and I hope you follow it :

        1) apologies are required, for the conduct over this, it was disrespectful, no if's and or but's about it.
        2) You want to post a deal, great, post it. Don't take shots at other businesses, don't bs about the product like you've been caught doing. Let it stand for itself.
        3) Respect the fact that you posting here is a privilege, not a right. Just post the deal provide service and go about your life or move on.

  • -1

Yes, it's certainly important to be clear about these things. Management did get an email from Department of Veterans’ Affairs Anzac Centenary and Communications Branch, indicating a complaint, but upon further discussion, they said "The phrase ‘Anzac Day’ may be used without permission, in connection with events or activities held on 25 April, or on consecutive days including 25 April. There are also a few other exceptions, such as personal use (names, tattoos etc.) and use on memorials". We just wanted to clarify, and it seems apparent that the commercialisation of Anzac Day can be considered quite offensive by many people, particularly those in the ex-service community, even if it is allowed under the Regulations.

Some buyers appreciate attention to detail. Four days ago, a man who volunteered that he is a war veteran, who plays war & combat games, wrote a testimonial about his experience with Selling Out Soon (we haven't put testimonials on the site at this stage).

He said (verbatim): "Would like to inform you that I received the Item missing from my initial purchase on Friday 22APR16 and am very happy with your amicable service. I received a nice note in the post along with the item from your warehouse, that has offered me a 10 percent discount on a future purchase to say Thank you. I should be the one saying Thank You. Certainly wasn't expecting such intensely personal service. In fact, I don't think I have received that kind of attention to detail before, so I am most impressed! Your efficient communication and rectification of what was a minor issue but no doubt irked me enough to complain in the first instance, has been nothing short of outstanding"…."I will most certainly purchase from you again when I can save up enough to splash out on another purchase."

So attention to detail can provide very positive outcomes.

However, I'll be referring all pertinent information mentioned here (all of which has been read), and will personally work towards posts that are clearer and more succinct, if that serves the majority of OzBargainers better. Please note, nothing has been done to intentionally offend anyone, and it should be said that in a community people should be allowed to be themselves, as long as doing so doesn't hurt others.

    • +3

So, no actual response to my above comment?

      Evidence of a rep who doesn't respond to a potential customer's concerns/questions/comments then…

      Also…

So attention to detail can provide very positive outcomes.

      and

Would like to inform you that I received the Item missing from my initial purchase on Friday 22APR16

is not exactly a shining example of attention to detail. It's an example that you are good at making up for mistakes. Sure things were fine at the end after you fulfilled the customer's order and offered an financial inducement (which benefits you in the long run anyway) but it could all have been avoided with a bit more attention to detail in the first place.

      • Hi IceCreamBandit :) you're right about Selling Out Soon providing excellent service. Of course nobody is perfect, and in that case the manufacturer missed an insert, which we replaced for the buyer.

        Customer Service

If anyone encounters a legitimate problem that is not covered in the item description, please just contact Customer Service who will help you promptly and professionally. If you have an issue that cannot be resolved by Service (which is very unlikely) or you haven't heard back within 2 business days (not including weekends or public holidays) please feel free to send me a PM, including your full name, daytime telephone number, and the date of your last email, and I'll ensure your enquiry is handled by a Senior member of Resolutions, within a defined timeframe, to ensure you're getting excellent service. Thank you.

        • +1

you're right about Selling Out Soon providing excellent service

Do not twist my words. I never said that. Your attitude towards me is getting worse with each response (or lack thereof). Plus, when financial inducements are used, it's a lot easier for the customer to say the service was good, but it's only going to benefit you as well so don't try to claim you're doing it purely from the goodness of your heart.

But hey, once again you've completely ignored my above comment. Even if you post a deal which I desperately want in the future, I am highly unlikely to buy from you thanks to your customer service here. So there, some negative feedback to go with your 'positive' ones.

Remember those cocky and insensitive deal descriptions you used to have where you did the shop comparisons, and you compared yourself with Dungeon Crawl who were in administration (where people lost jobs) at the time and you claimed superiority as they had "no staff/stock?". If they were still under I'd still give a defunct company my money rather than deal with "service" from you. I don't know what went through your mind as you decided to make light of a situation where people lost their jobs. I would never swoop that low to wish that on anyone but you seemed to have no problem with it.

        • -1

          @IceCreamBandit:

          attitude

No, that's not actually happening, at all. It's likely that you're just annoyed. Which is OK, but let's at least be honest about why.; nothing to do with the company, the deal, or the product.

you're right about Selling Out Soon providing excellent service

Selling Out Soon does provide excellent service. We actually do what we say. The downside (it's only a downside if you choose not to read or you don't want to believe what the words say), is that we generally don't do what we don't say. So it's good to read what we say, because we do that.

          goodness of your heart

Well, it's not my heart, it's a company, but the people at Selling Out Soon are sincere. Staff are encouraged to have both a heart and a personality. If you'd have bought something from Selling Out Soon you'd have experienced that. And if you didn't experience excellence for some unknown reason, I can make sure it happens for you.

          "financial inducements are used"

Haha, no. That didn't happen. I noticed you mentioned that more than once, but we didn't.

          Dungeon Crawl

Have you had any association with Dungeon Crawl in any way? In any case, now we're at least getting to the real reason for your concern, which has nothing to do with our product, service, or deals. You felt annoyed at a cheeky comment about Dungeon Crawl. Fair enough, in which case, it might be better to send a PM or a complaint email to voice that concern, instead of attempting to sabotage legitimate deals from a legitimate company because you didn't like a simple offhanded joke, by listing a lot of stores with no stock, then Dick Smith, and/or Dungeon Crawl with "no staff". Some people thought that was pretty funny. It was intended to lighten things up a bit. People get so serious about bargains…which is cool, but…no point dying of a heart attack…breathing last words of…"at least I got a bargain…"

          Cheers, and lighten up :)

        • @sellingoutsoon:

Which is OK, but let's at least be honest about why.; nothing to do with the company, the deal, or the product.

Yeah I'll be honest and say I'm annoyed. But it's to do with deal and the rep, who is a reflection of the company. Your deflection of constructive criticism and continued choice to ignore my previous comment is the source of that annoyance.

So it's good to read what we say, because we do that.

Not everyone has time to read essays and information about postage in 4 different places in order to make a purchase ;)

And if you didn't experience excellence for some unknown reason, I can make sure it happens for you.

Your attitude (regardless of what you think) is not entirely professional. Even if you think so, it's what your potential customers think that matters more.

Haha, no. That didn't happen. I noticed you mentioned that more than once, but we didn't.

Um…you stuffed up an order and offered a 10% discount on a future purchase. That would count.

Have you had any association with Dungeon Crawl in any way? In any case, now we're at least getting to the real reason for your concern, which has nothing to do with our product, service, or deals.

No, feel free to TWAN to cross reference my IP, voting patterns and so on if you want to investigate that further. Your attitude (done in humour or not, in this post and previous) has not been entirely professional or "excellent". Jokes can still be offensive, regardless of whether you had that intention. If you cannot acknowledge that, then good luck next time you make a joke toward someone else's unemployment.

Don't bother replying to this, and don't bother private messaging me like last time when you tried to make up. I'll leave you with this, which you obviously did not read, or have just chosen to ignore.

Reps shouldn't argue with shoppers as they are potential customers.

        • @IceCreamBandit:

          10% discount

I see why you thought that now. That offer is a printed offer, standard in all parcels the warehouse sends, it wasn't anything else. I agree that no company is able to appease everyone, in the same way as not everybody gets along like best friends. But that's OK. Just don't think anyone is against you, because they're not. I'm going to have a personality, and be loyal, because that's what I do. I do welcome useful comments, if it's not just a matter of opinion. Please note just because a company has a certain communication style, it's not formulated to hurt your feelings, nor does diversity make someone a bad person, or company, it might just mean that their part in the story of your life might be a small part. And that's OK. In the end you've got to do what feels right to you, and so does everyone else. The main thing is that companies do what they say, and try to fix problems if they occur, wherever viably possible. That's what I look for in a company. And in people too. So to anyone who's bothering to read this, if you need any help and something went wrong somewhere (very rarely does) just PM me and I'll make sure you get the attention you deserve, in the interest of serving you better.

  • Fast Delivery :)

Much faster than promised. Warehouse reports that the majority of orders are already delivered or awaiting customer pickup, with any remaining expected to arrive within 1 business day.
