  • Is Dick Smith store still open in Warringah Mall ?

    • Yes, tomorrow last day.

  • battery life is terrible, but worth to get for the 2 gigs of data alone.

    • I am wondering it said 3G is it just because the WiFi modem is 3G but the SIM is actually 3/4G both?

  • Erina fair, 2 for $1 everything, just picked up a few modems to use the included data!

  • I can get around 4 hours traveling on bus and train.

  • where do these stores get their stock from? Perth CBD store has nothing left except phone covers and other crap that nobody wants.
Crazy! Saw that they are selling some really old laptops in NON WORKING conditions. Was $399, now 60% off

    • Stock would of come from the manufacturer.

    • They were there since Dick start to clear thing out, just nobody buy them until the last few days.

I have been waiting for the Telstra 4GX model to further discount. I still saw them have two last week at $29.70 but as a true ozbargainer I decided to wait until the last two days and finally they dropped it to $19.80 today but non left lol ….

Although the device is marked with Optus branding, it is unlocked and I am using it with a Vodafone SIM now.

Initially the device would not connect to Vodafone even though it correctly picked up Vodafone settings: I solved it by creating a new profile:

Open a browser and go to 192.168.1.1
In the Optus branded page that comes up, click Settings.
login to the device (default is admin \ admin)
    Click "quick setup"
    Click "new Profile"
Call the profile whatever you like, leave username and password blank, set APN to live.vodafone.com
    Click next

    Save, exit reboot…

    Hope that helps someone.

    Mark.
