Selfie Stick $1.40 (Normally $15) in Target (Broadmeadows Victoria)

520

Hi everyone I was browsing the Target electrical section after reading the 30% off deal in Broadmeadows Shopping Centre. These selfie sticks were marked to $2 from $15. I picked 2 and upon scanning price it came to $1.40. There were many colors and about 10 pieces left.

    Same thing?

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Bluetooth-Universal-Handheld-Exte…

Who'd pay $15 for it anyway?

If you actually select a colour, you'll see that the selfie sticks cost $12.39. The $1 item is a plastic phone stand. This is a common eBay "scam" where they list a cheap, unrelated item as a colour variation, so that eBay will show the cheapest price in the listing.

      • Sorry, in a hurry didn't notice this in the listing, but yes I've had that issue before and it's very annoying!!

I think the stick from target doesn't have bluetooth. I bought one without bluetooth for 2.28AUD from Aliexpress.

Confirmed in Erina also. Note, this is a Hardwired selfie stick that plugs into the headphone jack

    • I've got a bluetooth one. I actually think it might be quicker with a hardwired stick than bluetooth. With a bluetooth one, you need to turn on the stick and wait for it to pair. As opposed to inserting the audio plug and taking the selfie…

    • There are a lot of them priced for $1.40 in Liverpool NSW as well . They were $2 last week.

    good way to get bashed

Nah mate they're too flimsy. If you bash someone with it, it'll break after the first couple of hits ;-)

But if you make love not war, perhaps it can be a cheap adult toy? LOL

One of my friends had a smart idea. Her complex is gated and her arms are too short to tap the tag against the reader when driving in. She attached the tag to one of these. Now she extends it out and taps it, and when done folds it up next to nothing and puts it back in the cup holder.

That's the best use for one of these that I've ever heard.

    • Is this your friend?

I think ozbargain needs an anti-selfiestick rule. We don't want to encourage those kind of people to come here

  • You are required to sign a stat dec that you have given up on your self-worth when you buy one.

  • I think asians are the biggest customers of this product, (from what i see around town)

  • I have one of these and they're great. For those wondering, it works great with an action camera - since the stick has the universal screw that affixes all kinds of cameras.

  • The person at the electronics counter at Canberra Centre Target said someone came in and bought 20 of these… does someone here have an admission to make? Is this a cry for help?

      Broden moved to Canberra?

  • Great, will buy 4 so I can get photos from all angles at the same time. Will probably need at least 16 so I can find my best side.
