Lenovo IdeaPad 100S 14" Laptop $296.65 (Was $398) at JB Hi-Fi (in Store)

140

I was looking for just a daily-internet-browsing laptop for my mum. I was looking at HP Stream 11 and Asus VivoBook both just under $300 and got 11" display but 2GB RAM.

Quick Spec:
Intel® Celeron® Processor N3060
4GB RAM
32GB eMMc Storage

This is not a powerful laptop but it is a good price for a light-laptop with 4GB RAM.

Keyboard is good and the trackpad is decent too.

Good Guys have it for $369.00

Anyone know of a 14" (or bigger) laptop with a decent CPU, 4GB RAM and an SSD for under $500?

I don't know. The CPU is slightly slower than ones in iphones and Samsung flagships. I'd rather want a laptop with a cpu that is at least faster than the one in my mobile phone if I ever wanted to spend $700 for a laptop.

  • The CPU is even slower than older Atom based Celeron and Pentium CPUs such as Intel N2840.

CNET gave it 3.5 out of 5 and a pretty good review. Just cause it won't play World Of GeekCraft or won't cope with a lot of load, doesn't make it unsuitable for many other purposes. It's under $300..! Some of you would complain even if it was $50.

I purchased one over the weekend and it is great for its price, it is not slow its form facotor is very nice and overall I don't think you will find a better laptop at its price.

  • or get the 11.6" for $219 https://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers-tablets/laptops/lenovo/l…
I bought one a few month ago from HN; speed is satisfactory for my purpose (internet browsing)but I think the CPU is different to the 14" model

Actually I now see the 14" has 4GB RAM rather than 2GB in the 11". Anyway, the solid state memory seems to make it fast enough for me.

  • Can someone help me with something, I purchased this computer thinking it's cheap for $296, save $101 before the promotion ended, now the promotion has ended its selling for $349?

    • your point? what do you need help with?

      • never mind.
