At first I thought it is some Panama deal.

    • +5

      100x shell companies for $0.99?

      • +4

        PM would be interested

        • I can set you up a shell company, if you're interested.

Its legal as well, but it will only benefit you tax wise if you're a business owner.

      • You should run for prime minister

  • +2

cheap, but I am positive thats the normal price for panamax. its always cheap.

    • ~$1.99 anywhere I've seen them

      • +2

yeah, just checked wayback machine and normal is $1.89 , so 90cents off.

People dont realise how expensive panadol brand is.

  • +1

Why have I been paying $5 for 25x panadol tablets all these years.

    • +12

      Yes, please advise.

    • +1

because of their advertising, no-one realises paracetamol is all the same no matter the brand.

and buy coles brand or heron ibuprofen, thats super cheap compared with Nurofen and its the same drug as well.

    • +5

Why have I been paying $5 for 25x panadol tablets all these years.

I don't know. But what I do know is; I have some fantastic investment opportunities which are proving to be very popular with people in your area!!

  • Some chemists are charging $2.99 a pack.

99c is pretty good, though CW do sometimes push them out at 69c.

  • +1

If you can't get to CW, and if Discount Drug Stores are near you, they do price match http://www.discountdrugstores.com.au/panamax-pain-relief-500…

  • -8

Unfortunately Paracetamol does not target pain like Nurofen

    • +4

      They each have their strengths.

For example hospitals will commonly prescribe paracetamol for headache but not muscle pain as ibuprofen is more efficacious.

    • +6

Nurofen can't target specific areas of your body, it blocks production of prostoglandins which are responsible for inflammation and pain.

    • +2

That's false advertising by the company who have been fined for it. It can't target pain.

    • +3

I wasn't sure if you were joking or not. No swallowed medication can 'target' pain

    • +1

Ibuprofen are better for certain types of pain

    • +2

Sucked in by the media. Big time.

  • +2

This is exactly what I need after talking with my mother just now.

    • +4

your mum had box of them before talking to you too

    • +1

"She could give paracetamol a headache!"

  • Great Bargain, at this price there is no reason to buy Panadol

    • +2

Even it this cost $10 there still isn't a reason to buy panadol.

  • -1

    Panamax Paracetamol

Those could be difficult to swallow. Do they come in a smaller size?

    • Just swallow it via your Suez Canal

      • Better than up The Swanee?

      • Just swallow it via your Suez Canal

Even still, I'd have to work up to it. ><

  • +1

Keep supporting CWH now and once they ruin all the community pharmacies, they'll jack up their prices.

    • +3

And once they jack up the prices, it'll open the market up for a CWH Mk2 company! So win for all!

    • I alternate between CWH, MyChemist, Pharmasave and Priceline.

The so-called "community pharmacies" are expensive, and don't stock the range of products I want.

      • +1

Just don't come in asking questions about a product then go buy it elsewhere cheaper (where they don't have time to answer your questions)
        :)

        • I find the pharmacist or sales staff at CWH and MC quite good at asking about products as well…

The real issue with "community" pharmacies is lack of bulk packs at times which are way cheaper (such as this one in the post)…I can get my anti-histamines for less than 50c per tablet at my local CWH, sometimes even as low as 30c per tablet at Pharmasave…but the local small-business pharmacy only stocks smaller packs…

Plus there's the much wider range of personal care products…so sometimes I'll be at CWH or Priceline for my personal care and toiletries and I'll add my meds to the same trip as well…

        • @twister292: Every pharmacy sells Panamax

        • I knew that because they both use the same pink and yellow HOT PRICE tags to suck you in ;)

  • I was told by a doctor if you take too many of these they will destroy your liver so be careful.

    • +3

      If pain persists…see your doctor.

      • If pain persists…… see your lawyer.

    • Why would you take "too many" of them?

      • +1

        Because you are in pain?

        • Follow the instructions on the box

  • -3

This is made in India , I won't trust medicine made in India. I am happy to pay premium for pandol

    • +5

I wouldn't buy pandol, i would prefer "Panadol":)

    • +2

Some of the affordable cancer drugs are made and sold in India where westerner's (including Aussies) rush to so they can save thousands of dollars compared to what they're charged back home. Don't know why you need to put a comment up like that.

    • +2

Heres a fun fact… Where do you think Panadol is made? Cause for the life of me, they don't list it on the box! So most likely it could be coming out of India too!

      • Made in Australia

        • Check your box Rick, cause its not listed on my box…. so don't believe they are, cause if they are they would be singing from the rooftops about it. Panadol Osteo tablets are made in Spain for example, I found this out on their facebook page!

        • +1

          No guarantee of that.

          GlaxoSmithKline:

Manufacturing sites for prescription products: (Scotland (Irvine and Montrose), England (Ware, Barnard Castle, Worthing and Ulverston), Ireland (Cork), the US (Bristol, Tennessee; King of Prussia, Pennsylvania; Zebulon, North Carolina), as well as Australia, Belgium, France, Italy, Malaysia, Poland, Puerto Rico, Romania and Singapore.

Manufacturing sites for consumer products: England (Maidenhead), Ireland (Dungarvan), the US (Aiken, South Carolina; Oak Hill, New York; St. Louis, Missouri), Brazil, Canada and Kenya.

        • @whodidthat: Yep! Panadol is just riding on its name and the thought that its made in Australia. When the truth is, I highly doubt it is!

I spent ages looking in CWH at all the different panadol and herron packs. None say "Made in xxxxx" Its missing from the packs. So I can only guess that its NOT made in Australia as if it was, they would be slapping the made in Australia logo or wording on the packs. Its a selling feature.

Panamax does have Made in India from memory. At least they are not trying to hide it.

So buy Panamax at $1.99 (normal price) for 100 tablets or pay $11 for 'panadol' that is most likely made overseas as well. http://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/Buy/6973/Panadol-500mg-10…

        • @Level380: That's right, GlaxoSmithKline will always go for where it's cheaper to produce/distribute.

Just have a look at where the big place is at Barnard Castle! (know it well)
They would have got that land cheap as chips and built cheaply as well.

        • @Duff5000: Oh thanks Duff5000. Will have to check them out!

So $1.09 for 20, so $5.45 for 100, not as good as panamax, but Oz made, so worth it.

        • @Level380:

This is the capsules as well so easier to swallow than panamax. They do the tabs as well for about 70c.

I don't really care either way but the caps are easier for the kids to swallow.

        • @whodidthat: If it is anything like food, the pill is made somewhere else and the pills are put into the packaging in the country where it is 'made from' ;)

    • Where is Panadol made?

If you really want australian just buy the home brand one from Woolworths:

      https://www.woolworths.com.au/Shop/Browse/toiletries-beauty-…

Has a big "made in australia" on the box and a fraction of the price of panadol.

  • I wonder what would happen if we spent less time looking for bargains (staring at the screen) and we drank more water (its free) if we would save ourselves the 0.99 cents

    • +1

we spent less time looking for bargains
we would save ourselves the 0.99 cents

      no way man

      • ok ok, no I went a bit overboard with cutting back on the bargains/screen time…

    • +1

Who says we can't drink water while looking at the screen?

      • Indeed, and pee too for the trifecta!

More water out, more water in.

    • at 1c a pop, it would be cheaper than a glass of water :)

  • it is cheap but delivery $8.95… not that cheap anymore

    • Available in store as well

  • And most of these products are supplied by the same manufacturer.
    You may recall Herron Recall.
All Woolworths home brand were recalled as those were made at the same plant.
Chemist warehouse is selling it below cost.Having said that they may be getting it free as a bulk purchase bonus

  • My local store limit to 1 per customer when you buy in store. Usual price was $1.99

  • best light pain killer on the market. it just works for me. Works much quicker than panadol and nurofen. Straight to the point highly recommended!

  • Wow.. perfect amount to end my life long depression

    • +1

It wouldn't do a good job mate, you would die a long slow painful death

      • Lol, thanks for letting me know, change of plan then :D

  • how does this compare to coles brand?

  • Just bought 2 from my local CWH.

They were insisting in-store limit is 1 per customer, but when I showed them the website which said 2 per order, they were happy to put them through.

  • It says on the website that you need a prescription to buy this, can anyone confirm this please?

    • You definitely do not. This is usually found in the bargain bin near the counter of every pharmacy…

    • It may do if you try to buy too many.

      • Could you even get a prescription that said you need more than 200x 500mg paracetamol?

  • Guys this product is made by a major global Pharma. Its not a generic and defo not an on-patent blockbuster drug recouping R&D / marketing costs of getting a drug to market. it would be made to 'very strict' standards that all major players have to abide by. hey 500mg or paracetemol is 500mg of paracetemol the only difference between the brands would be the non-active stuff, coatings, standards in manufacture etc.

    • Agreed. These tabs are the same dose etc, just that they dont have the more fancy coatings from the more expensive brands. You need to swallow these quickly or they powder up/disintegrate in the mouth and leave an unpleasant taste…
