  • Can anyone explain the point of these compared to ovens? Other than heating up quicker?
I have one, but it fits hardly anything in it. It's a pain in the ass to clean, and it doesn't even get as hot as a normal. Oven.

  • +1

Bought one at lunchtime, picked up this afternoon, and made chips tonight. A little annoying (as mentioned above) that the cash back requires sending in the physical barcode from the box, so will need to find a stamp. Seems so archaic… ah well.

    • Talk about innovation. These practices are just to discourage people to claim promotion.

    • +2

      How were the chips?

      • Meh. I think would have been better using a waxier potato and par boiling them blah blah blah….. so next time I'll throw in some frozen pre-made chips and see how they go.

        • Yes, as the frozen ones have little oil, they will be better. Cooking without oil is good, but might not be that good taste wise.

    • So… how did the chips turn out?

EDIT: sorry only saw page 1

  • Are these much different to turbo ovens? Having trouble deciding if it's worth the "upgrade" other than aesthetics.

  • strange question but can you cook prawn crackers (from their small and hard state) in this ?

  • Can these be cleaned in the dishwasher?

    • Apparently it can, although I'd hesitate to do so as dishwashers can shorten the life of non-stick items.

      • Does it, how much does it shorten the life?

        • Again, varies on the quality of the non-stick item, the dishwasher, the temperature of the water, if the water is hard or soft, the type of dishwasher powder/liquid used, top or bottom rack….. so basically, I can't say. Might be fine, or it might halve the life of the item. Again, personally I would hand wash but that's a personal choice.

To every ozbargainer that now owns one of these, while you wait for it to arrive you can practice saying this one simple line….

"Would you like fries with that?"

    πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

  • Not available for collect anywhere around Melbourne 😑

    • Just get it delivered if you can. Its still a great price and will perhaps save your time as well. :)

Bing lee and HN selling this for 229. so grab it before 22nd if you really want it..

      • Yes, did ordered, store called me to confirm that it's going to be back order.probably miss cash back

        • Purchase between 23 March and 22 May, lodge claims by 18 June. See cash back page for details. I would hope it doesn't take a month for GG to dispatch the goods.

  • Can people who have these please mention their best uses, other than chips?

    • Stacks of examples out there. Other than chips (and there are lots of different types - not just potato but pumpkin or sweet potato, as well as wedges and cubes), people apparently cook all sorts of things in them. Think of it as a small fan forced oven - it doesn't hold much but it heats up really quickly and can cook things quicker (compared to an oven that does not have some form of fan) as well. Croquettes, fish/chicken strips, spring rolls, chicken wings, even cakes. But yeah - if you have a good oven you don't really need this. I mainly got it as a way to get the kids involved in cooking some various vegetables and increasing their veggie intake.

  • dam GG in WA lied to us..only 2 stores in WA have stocks in stock…They told me will get stock in by this week, hopefully it's true, or else i will miss out on the cashback. Apparently they couldn't issue the invoice until item is dispatched.

    • Same boat as you think I'll miss out

    • When do u need to get the cash back registered by?

      • +1

22/5/16..so meaning we have to get the tax invoice before 22/5, and send the claim in by 18/6

        • you need to submit the barcode cutout from the package as well.

        • @spk: Well…hopefully I can get the stock before Sunday this week…The store said we should be good…finger crossed

        • @Droid11: same boat mate.

        • @spk: where the barcode located at? Is it the on the bottom of the packaging?

        • @alibabapria: should be on the box.

        • @alibabapria: it was the only barcode I could find as well. Hopefully that's the right one.

        • @harkoliar: yeah same here…only could the barcode on bottom of the box. Hopefully thats the one.

        • @alibabapria: it looks to be the right one my claim is validated and approved

        • @harkoliar: Did you get an email or something, or the money just showed up in your account?

        • @systmworks: email and states
This is to advise that your cash back claim for your Philips Kitchen Appliances' product has been validated and will be paid shortly.

        • @harkoliar: I am still waiting for the email. I may wait for couple more weeks, see how it goes.

        • @alibabapria:
          Me too.. :(

        • I just received the email from Philips today.

This is to advise that your cash back claim for your Philips Kitchen Appliances' product has been validated and will be paid shortly.

          Thank you for your patience.

          Kind regards
          The Philips Promotion Team

Please note: This is an automated email and the address is NOT monitored. Please do NOT reply to this email as we will NOT get your email.

        • @alibabapria: Lucky. Im still waiting :(

  • I assume these things are more energy efficient than using an oven? That's about the only real selling point for me.

  • All gone. Just say out of stock

  • Back in stock but shipping has gone up

    • yep, the shipping doubles. wanted to place an order this morning, now there is no point to do so at the moment. also, i dont think i can receive the tax invoice the the cashback by 22/5 either.

  • I've placed the order on 16/05, I have received a docket invoice via e-mail from TGG on 17/05.
Rockdale, NSW Store has run out of stock and they have put in the order to fulfill these EBay orders.

    Philips cashback instructions:

Between 9:00AM 23 March 2016 and 11:59PM 22 May 2016, when you purchase an eligible Philips Kitchen Appliance (refer below), you will be entitled to receive up to $50 cash back.
All claims must be received no later than by last mail 5.00pm AEST on 18/06/2016.

    My question is:
Can I use the docket invoice issued on 17/05 for cashback ?

    • Fyi the cash back form states no later than 6/6/16.

I'm providing both PayPal receipt and docket invoice emailed to me. That should be more than sufficient.

      • What does your emailed docket invoice say? I only got an email from GG about it on back order.

Edit : Just called the store. They emailed in a docket invoice and said that it should not have any issues with cashback.

        • +1

It's a sales invoice and this was mentioned in Delivery instructions: "ON ORDER WILL CALL WHEN IN".

Also, I called TGG yesterday and they confirmed that I can use this invoice for claiming Cashback.
Hopefully they should get the stock next week

  • I have the same issue as others.

I placed a delivery order on Monday so that I didn't have to chase around for it. Got an email saying my delivery has been allocated to a store, which appears to be the Chatswood one. They claimed I should expect delivery between 19/5 and 26/5, but they also said they'd send an email when it's been shipped to me, and they haven't emailed yet (and today is the 19th).

Am really hoping that the tax invoice is dated before 22 May. The problem is, 22 May is Sunday. So if they don't ship it out VERY soon, my tax invoice might be later than that. I do have a Paypal invoice showing I paid for the air fryer, to The Good Guys, on 16 May. Hopefully that will be sufficient, but like others, I'm not sure.

    • but your paypal would have explicitly mentioned as EBAY transaction.
Philips promotion might exclude eBay sales. Having TGG invoice would be a safe play.

      • Do you get a Tax Invoice from The Good Guys on pick up?

        • Yes, you get a docket invoice from the Web sales team when they process your order.
You also get a tax invoice from the store when you visit for pickup.

Please see comments above, TGG confirmed that the docket invoice can be used for claiming cashback

        • @spk: XXXX, went in store and found out it's on back order. Only have a docket invoice for cash back now, will give that a go anyway.

    • +2

My tax invoice was dated the day of delivery which was 28 May.
I ordered it on 17 May.
Rang the store that dispatched the air fryer and they have refused to change the date of the tax invoice…

      • Not sure if it is acceptable as I cannot see purchase date anywhere on the invoice. It only mentions pickup date.

      • Same thing happen to me last year, bought on june 30th (for tax) and arrived on july 10th with invoice july. No matter what i said they didnt change the invoice.

      • Same here. But after the initial order, they had also emailed me an invoice which had the order date. I've mailed that invoice for the cash back.

      • Use the invoice (in an email) you received on the date of purchase.

  • For the people to got delivered, did you get an invoice? I didn't and now TGG eBay want me to call head office and get a copy, not sure why they cannot arrange it

  • They've taken the cashback link down even though the T&Cs state that they have to receive it by the 15th or 18th June.

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/188941 (this post says 15th June) however a comment on this page says 18th June.

Does anyone have a copy of the form??

    • +1

I just took a photo - should be clear enough to print (maybe use photo editor to change DPI to 300 first)
      http://i.imgur.com/jFr3HwA.jpg

I saw 18/6 as the last receive date on the website when I downloaded the form - but I see on the bottom of the doco itself it says 6th June (3 days ago). Sounds like they dont have their shit together.

      • Thank you so much. I just went through my phone and luckily I have a screenshot of their website that says 18th June.

  • Has anyone received the cashback?

    • +1

mailed the forms and barcode on 25/06
      no acknowledgement email yet.

      • +1

        mail sent on 25/06
acknowledgement and claim validation mail received on 16/06

        • sorry I meant 25/05

        • @spk:

          got mine today ;)

    • I have received an email acknowledgement that they have received the cash back request. The email is from [email protected]

      • date of submission and the date of acknowledgement email pls.
        also, location ?

    • I mailed around 25th May and get the ack email 15 June,

However, today, they REJECT my claim

This is the email from their automated reply.

I believe I did everything right as they said in the claim process.
      Attach the docklet invoice,
Cut the barcode from the package
and Filling the form, mailed that two weeks before the due date.
Don't know why they reject mine.

      ================================================
This is to advise that your cash back claim for your Philips Kitchen Appliances' product has failed to comply with the Terms and Conditions of the promotion.

We will be returning your claim with a covering letter to explain why it has been rejected and what options are open to you.

      Kind regards
      The Philips Promotion Team

      • what was the invoice date ?

        • Just check the Invoice, it is 26/05/2016

        • @righttang: this promotion is for purchases between 23-March and 22-May.
your invoice date is past the promo date, hence the rejection.

          source: http://i.imgur.com/jFr3HwA.jpg

        • @spk: many of us are in this situation as TGG could not deliver items apparently being in stock within the promotion period.

I asked them to issue an invoice in advance (not sales order) but they said they could not do so until the items has arrived and the serial number was available.

So I had to wait for that invoice after the promo period had ended.
Was also adviced incorrectly that it would be no problem sending it in together with the sales docket

        • @ahara: I received 3 invoices from them

          1) First on 17/05 - on the date when I placed the order.(ON ORDER WILL CALL WHEN IN - this was mentioned in delivery instructions) and there is no SIN on it.

          2) Second on 23/05 when the stock was ready for pickup

          3) Third on 24/05 when I picked up from the store(got one from store and also the same was emailed to me).

I asked the TGG staff and they asked me to use the first one.
I used the first one as it falls in the Promo period(between 23-March and 22-May), got an email this morning that claim has been validated.

        • @spk:

          Thanks for the information.

My Ebay Transaction date was 17 May, 2016, do I have any chance to make it up yet?

        • I would create a paypal dispute, invoice should be the day of the purchase, not the day they want.

        • @spk: unfortunately I only received the tax invoice when the items were available. All other forms were sales forms. Will send it in again with PayPal payment details (see my comment further below).

  • Cashback team advised me the promotion ended 5th June and won't honour the 15th/18th dates. Advised me to make a complaint to Philips Customer Service.
    Anyone else having similar issues?

    • Same here. Claim rejected as TGG could not deliver items in time and the sales invoice was after cut off date. Also I could not cut out the barcode within the dates specified on the form.

Does anyone have a phone number to call and complain?

I'm having the suspicion these forms are processed abroad. My processing/rejection emails were received at 5am and 5:50am.

last line on the form (02) 9912 4490

        • Thx

        • @ahara:

If possible please update your phone call outcome.

          Thanks

        • @righttang:
Called and they mentioned that my barcode and form is being sent back to me. I should send it in again with payment receipt (PayPal) and note of situation (I.e. Lack of stock from TGG/back order).

Till then it's rejected and they can't further process it.

On a side note, I did mention to them that we are lots of ppl in the same boat and they should take that into consideration and maybe send a mail around to the team processing these forms.

        • @ahara:
UPDATE: I called again and sent in the sales order form via the email [email protected]

Had to get a reference number by phone first but now my claim has been accepted (within promo period)

        • +1

          @ahara:

          Thanks for that

        • @ahara:

Just called and the lady told me that my barcode has been already send back, I have to attached the correct sale docklet and send the barcode to them again to get the processed.

Hope auspost doesn't loose my mail.

        • @righttang: I took a photo of my completed form + invoice + barcode before I posted them. So if it did get lost, I would have some proof.
Cost me $6 for express postage too.

  • Has anyone actually received the cashback yet?

    • +2

no but received a mail on 16th June that claim has been validated and will be paid out soon.

      • Same situation here.
Received email on the 16th that claim has been validated but no payout yet.

  • Super long wait and mega effort for $30, still no money yet, not even a cheque in mail message :-(

    • +1

Fryer is pretty good tho. Hopefully we get it before xmas

  • Has anyone else been experiencing the same issues I've had with their 'customer care' team?
Escalated to 2 different supervisors who both promised to look after the issue personally only to not hear back for days, weeks only to have to call up again.
They don't reply to emails either.

What's the next step? It's so much effort for a $30 cashback, but now I'm really only pursuing this on principle…

  • +1

Phillips Cashback is a joke, still waiting.

    • +1

called them last week and was told that they are still waiting for funds to be allocated for this campaign.
all verified claims will be paid out when funds are available.

I hope they pay out at least before 2017 Mother's day.
