  • Does a mystery GPS take you to mystery locations? :)

Just kidding, I have no opinions on GPS brands since I don't drive enough in unfamiliar areas to need one yet. But the way prices are ground rocketing, soon they will be cheaper than a street directory, not to mention much more usable. Then I'll get one.

  • was gonna post this, but am wondering how fast before someone starts complaining that they can't order anything due to server load.. out of stock…etc etc… :D

if they have just 5 items to sell & say it as a pressure cooker sale then there will be always a load.& for COTD this is not for the first time. You keep on refreshing whole day & at the end of day what you ill get "Catch you next time"

    • Or you might actually get something cheap?

    • It says they have 3000 of the GPS…

  • you…. difficult to get your ands on anytime thy sale…

Looking at the picture on COTD, the GPS looks to be a G35 Navig8tor which was just on sale at Harvey Normans (bricks and mortar store) for $49. The bottom, bottom end of the GPS…but not much of a bargain for an online auction considering little overheads.

That said the navigon gsp's (different brand, German) COTD sold last week were a good buy.

  • Okay the GPS is up now. Based on the specifications and the images, it very suspiciously seems to be the Navig8r Auto G35 3.5" GPS http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/p/navig8r-auto-3-5-gps/.

…I don't have a need for a GPS but the site seems to be working 100%.

  • I'd like to know what the Samsung phone is… I'm guessing it has no camera, and can't do much at all (apart from making calls and standard SMS texts?)

    • Probably the SAMSUNG E1070 judging by the DSE website which has it for $37. Expect it to be $27 posted, but at 27% off that's pretty good I think.

Bought one of the GPS units for my mother in law.
Hoping that it is such poor quality that she will get completely lost and wont be able to find her way to our place.

    • That comment made my day :D

    • Bwahahaha, very good! Chuckle, chuckle..

But you know, you will have to pay for it next time she visits you (with a good GPS). You'll never hear the end of it.

  • Well I bought the phone no problems. No website crashes and not even any sluggishness… Just wanted to say that I think the lack of positive votes has deprived the OzBargain front page of some relatively good deals. Oh well.

  • My MiLs Navig8r arrived today.
This is a small and very plastic unit. The GUI seems built on another OS rather than the custom bigger name brands - ie you have to choose to load the navig8r software. Once in, it requires pressing 'ok' after selections. The maps are very basic and there are little options. There is no 'home' setting, no way I can see to change voices. I tried it on a short trip and the speech seems to cut out. It didnt like me deviating and didnt recalculate.
On the +ve side, it does have spoken street names and speed alerts. It also seems to promise free map updates - though I dont know whether this is just some form of minor corrections only.
Wouldnt pay $99 for this one. In fact it is probably only worth the $50-60 we paid.
