Now THAT will get the Ozbargainers torqueing!

Hopefully they won't rattle on for too long about it!

  • I see what you did there……

  • Nice to have when you changing tire in a hurry… or steal tire on bricks.

  • Specs say it draws 80W, so that's 6.67 Amps.

Not shown but assume that the gun has a flex and Ciggie Lighter plug. The 2nd product photo shows a lead with 2 x alligator clips (for battery connection) and a cigarette lighter socket.

You could clip those adaptor leads onto a 12V drill battery and run it as a portable tool. Clip onto 18V Lithium battery pack for a extra turbo boost LOL

    • Will the motor burnt on 18v?

Will the motor burnt on 18v?

Perhaps yes. Perhaps no. But probably not.

It'd have to be a pretty poxy motor to burn out on such a small overvoltage.

Keep in mind that these types of products usually are only used for a few seconds at a time. So the heat build up would be dissipated.

        • Definitely interested. How long is the cable? Hopefully it is long enough for changing tyres.

    • I imagine it would run best off the clips on your battery with your car engine running that would be around 14v.

Gah, bought one of these full price 2 weeks back!

Can confirm that it is a great bit of kit. Very good at getting suspension bolts that have sat for 10+ years off! Comes with cig lighter plug, and an adapter with the clips for going onto the battery. The box is as flimsy as a plastic bag but!

    • How long is the cord?

      • sorry for late reply on this one, probably 4 metres. it was pretty tight getting to the opposite corner of my subaru wrx wagon from the battery in the front. would be fine using the 12v socket in the car and windows down on most cars i would think.

  • This looks awesome. Whereabouts it located within store? Seems like it would be a rare item

  • Actually good deal, I own cordless and air powered rattle guns but this seems like a good deal.

Like most other ozito tools I'd say this has a 3 year warranty as well.

    • Quite a bit more torque (312 vs 260nM) from the Ozito air rattler.

Sky's the limit on higher priced air tools (eg: Kinchrome over 1600nM)
      http://www.bunnings.com.au/search/products?q=air%20impact&re…

Of course they cost heaps more and are heaps less portable.

I have no idea whether 260nM is enough grunt to break a wheel nut, etc. I certainly wouldn't drive around with such a device in my car, so the fact that it's powered by 12V in not of any practical assistance.

Might as well just use an air tool (which I already own). But I never bother, I just use a (kick-powered) cross brace for wheel nuts.

(SNAP - see Maxi's comments below)

  • Nice tool to have in the boot but if you already have a compressed air rattle gun you may never use it (change a tyre on the road? just use the existing tyre lever). $30 a bit too much for it in this case.

    • For little jobs I find getting out the compressor and the air hose etc a big pain. I don't have a workshed just a plain 5.8 * 5.8 garage so not much room for a compressor. You can just whip this out alligator clip to your battery and go. Sounds good to me. If it can crack wheel nuts of course.

      • Fair enough.
It should be able to with 260Nm torque.
Normally wheel nuts are about 150Nm (on a Falcon that is).

        • It depends on your tyre shop. Those guys are menaces. I often keep use an old steel fence post pipe for leverage to crack em. Christ knows how the studs don't break.

  • Is its torque adjustable so that I can use it for other things rather than lug nuts?

  • Thanks OP. I just got me one. Great price and 3 year warranty.

    • Is the speed adjustable? That is, the further you depress the on/off trigger, the faster it turns.

  • this is awesome

going to hook this up to my car battery charger and use it in the garage
