      Yep.
      Ive had 3 different brands of these catch fire.
      Only minor 'capacitor leaked and caught' fires, so no house damage, but 3 locally owned, locally purchased brands.

      And while only 3 out of 16 have caught fire, 15/16 have stopped working.

      I love them, but the risk makes me feel nervous.

        Wow I bought some from bunnings and thought they were great, can't remember the brand though. Never had any issues with them and its been 3+ years.

        Just starting to replace them with the Wemo ones with belkin.

    Is the coding stored in non-volatile memory? My Jackson wireless sockets have to be re-paired with the remote whenever they lose power.

      really? that's pretty crap. SO after a blackout you not only have to reset all the clocks, you need to re-pair the remotes…ouch

      They are paired together unless you clean the code, we have paried them for you before packaging,
      so every time useing are very convenient.

    Spend the extra cash and get the Wemo switches instead http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Belkin-WeMo-Switch-Wireless-Smart… ($55).

    It has IFTTT and Yonomi support so you can extend the functionality for example, to automatically turn on the lights when your phones GPS recognises that you're home. Or turn them off when you leave.

    Hmm. The pictures all show 4 plugs and its only in the text in one place AFAICS that it mentions its 3 plugs. Tempted to neg just for that.

    May as well buy locally for not much more. Local warranty and no long wait for delivery:
