April, 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theatre, a battle-hardened Army sergeant named Wardaddy commands a Sherman tank and his five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered, out-gunned, and with a rookie soldier thrust into their platoon, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.
Disagree. Especially ( Spoiler Warning ) when a whole platoon of war veterans with a good quantity of Panzerfaust seem to NOT manage to blow the tank, and instead continue to run in front of the tank machine gun that has unlimited ammo.
Not worth the money, nor the time.
Its a movie. It is meant to be entertaining, and IMO the movie is very entertaining.
It's classified as Drama and war movie. If I want comedy I watch comedy.
On the other hand the whole movie is quite comic. For Example the Sherman Tank vs. Tiger. Unrealistic both ways.
Most likely they were saving their Panzerfaust for their main objective and under estimated the Americans (which they did in RL) stuck here. I thoroughly enjoyed this one. It's not an epic Saving Private Ryan flick and it's definitely not your typical US propaganda we're the good guys war flick neither.
If I want reality, I'll go to work. I'm with congngo, I watch movies for the entertainment factor.
Check the Portrayal of history section in wikipeadia. Not that I was concerned with history when I watched it.
