  • How reliable are these?

    • The brand has been around for ages.

    • I know Linus from Linus Tech Tips upgraded his father in law's PC using an Adata SSD (in one of his youtube videos). So I guess he feel that the brand is somewhat reliable enough for him to use as storage.

Wow I have a few usb 2 drives which I believe are faster

      • Well you could get 16GB for $9 three years ago which did 20MB/s in USB2 ports: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/95327

Prior to that, you could even buy USB2 sticks where the brand/model didn't skimp on quality.
"Patriot Xporter Rage USB Flash Drive 16GB" $29 in 2011. 25MB/s write speed.
Unfortunately misplaced this as I worked tech support in a large office, pretty sure it was stolen. :(

who cares? its just an 8gb drive for transferring docs & music and the odd movie file

the way some ppl carry on about usb stick speeds youd think they were going to use it to make a back up of youtubes entire catalogue lol

      • -4

lol …whoevers negging my comment would probably buy a Ferrari to go to the corner shop and back if they could afford it

        • Why not if I can afford it?

        • -3

@expertreader: well you cant, so moot point is moot

        • @Forrest Gump: I still don't get you. If I can afford Ferrari, why would I have to justify long journeys? Why can't I buy it for short distances. Per your analogy, most of the above 60's who don't use mobile much must not buy iPhone because it's expensive.

        • @expertreader: iphone can do more than make calls

and you can get smart phone for like $40 anyway, don't have to be iphone

          moot analogy is moot lol

        • @Forrest Gump: so you are going to dictate what I should buy with my money? If I have enough money, I can buy a Ferrari and keep in my garrage and never use it- why do I have to take your opinion?

        • @expertreader: this is clearly getting far removed from the original concept of ppl being overtly concerned with transfer speeds of a small capacity drive

do what you like with your money man… next time I see a deal on garages, ill post it up for you

          Ferraris too

now off you got to work out how youll pay for both - there seems to be a strong demand for high speed 8gb usb stick …maybe that could be a business idea for you lol

        • @Forrest Gump: ofcourse i will do whatever I like with my money. Everyone does and no can change that. No need to tell me what to do. Do you always add "lol" in conversation without reason?

        • @expertreader: no lol

        • @Forrest Gump: good. Just wanted to confirm.

      • Nothing complicated about it - the r/w data is there for info, use it as you see fit. Speed is convenience and many will pay a bit extra for it.

        • -1

yep - just like taking the Ferrari 2km to get milk and bread - youll get there several 1/1000's of a second quicker than in the camry

just more convenient that way lol

          ;)

        • +1

@Forrest Gump: hyperbole much? The Ferrari analogy has as much relevance as Tony Abbott has to modern Australia.

      • The point of USB 3.0 technology is the speed, so this being a 3.0 with very slow speed is why people pointed that out.

  • Avg. Sequential Write Speed 10MB/s

Even some Kingston USB 2.0 drives can write faster than 13MB/s

  • Wow I haven't visited TopBargains in a while.. their site looks like a hideous version, almost like an April Fools version of Ozbargain.
It's like when you see those adias slippers in South East Asia (pirated version of Adidas) LOL

These are slower than Paris Hilton, bless her cotton frocks.

  • Hi all, stupid question, I know, but… can anybody tell me how to add one(or more) of these to my cart. The option isn't there when I "Go to Deal" ..it is for all other products on iTech's site, but not for this.
Found it! (I think) You have to add it to wish list first.
and now, of course, it's "out of stock"
