FYI the purchase was tracked as of this morning, let's see if it gets approved. The last deal I purchased from Everbuying (minion stuff) without using an approved code (a 'shut up someone code') was paid so there is a strong chance this will too.

    • I tried it with Aliexpress and it doesn't work I would use Cashrewards.com.au

  • MM - can you confirm which rom will come on these phones? Is it the Global rom or the Chinese rom?

    • I can confirm this tomorrow morning as sales department have finished for the day. According to Emre its global. He found this is whirlpool threat.

      • Thanks, just wanted to get confirmation directly. I have placed an order anyway so if there is a way to specify the rom like some sellers allow I would be happy to provide my order number.

      • Hi rep, Please confirm if it's global rom and also delivery times to Sydney via Toll. Also do they sell cases?

I'm considering one but need this info

      • Hi Monty.melb, Any news from Everbuying that this is shipped with official global ROM or vendor's modified global ROM??? thanks for your time!!

        • As soon as I heard Sales department will let u know.

      • Unless its changed in the last month or so, it will be a vendor rom. I bought one from everbuying and yeah, it was vendor. Wasn't hard to flash, but something to keep in mind for people who wouldn't want to flash a phone

  • If its the official rom I will commit

  • +2

If you guys go into this thread https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2490483 then hit CTRL and F type in everybuying you will see which ROMS they came with.
    :)

  • we are getting very close to the $200 sweetspot, which would be a great bargain for the note 3 pro

    • I will pull the trigger when it goes down to less than $200

  • Interested but as others mentioned I worried about the Rom. I don't own a pc so would be hard for me to install if it isn't global version.

    • yes if you don't have a PC it can be tricky. Not everybody is a phone mod enthusiast, some people just want a phone that works.

Support is also an issue, they move to new models quickly and stop upgrades to old ones to be competitive. There is little money in support, it's in selling more units or newer units.

Still waiting for android 6 for the redmi note 2 ….. they announced it as being on the roadmap, 6 months later no android 6, probably because sales are down on that model.

      • Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate it. Not owning a Pc and just wanting a phone to work straight off without having to flash anything which I never done before, limits my options. Pity cuz the xiaomi looks really good value. Kinda regretting pulling out on the eglobal deal which I heard had global rom.

    • Don't buy it if no PC. I am fairly certain it comes with a vendor modified global rom. I bought from Ali express, global rom was loaded. It was a different version of global rom, which would not update. I had to download the official global ROM from xiaomi website and then flash it.its simple process but can be tedious if never done before. The latest official global ROM is 7.3.2 (LHOMIDD).

      • Cheers. Looks like I will pass and wait for a good deal on Huawei flagship or the nexus one. Much more expensive unfortunately.

        • get the nexus 5X through the ebay deal. decent phone and good price..

        • @stockastics: thanks will look into it.

        • Most vendors sell global, just wait for a sale for one that does.

  • Why is the grey colour so much more expensive $312 USD?

  • Can you bring back the piston or hybrid pleaseee?

Does this phone will bend after use ? I found some google comment says yes

    • +1

every $$^%$&^ phone will bend if abused. But no, it won't bend unless you want it to or you have coffee with Uri and he gets bored with bending your teaspoon. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spoon_bending

Likewise it will also last about 2.93 seconds in a blender, instead of around 4.72 seconds for an iPhone in the same blender.

Solution: don't put it in a blender.

      • Thanks for your reply, i definately talking about normal use, like put in the pocket, my iphone 6 was slightly bend, so i just too scary to avoid buying a easy bend phone again

        • OK, real use…it won't bend. ALthough I never put any phone in my back pocket which seems to be the cause of bendy phones. It's a 5.5 inch phone, not something you want to put anywhere near your posterior.

        • wait what, the phone is really solid, I have no idea how you would bend it

    • +6

You mean a recent flagship that costs at least 3 to 4 times as much? Hey…it's a 3 hundred buck phone and there will be compromises.

If band aggregation and 100Mbps + speeds is important in the broadest regional coverage then by all means…make a purchasing decision appropriate to that requirement.

If "poor speeds" equates 84 Mbps/30Mbps or less (actual tested speeds - consistently well over 20 Mbps) then this is not the phone for you.

    • +4

If you think it does matter, you haven't used one of these phones.

If you need the "penetrating" frequencies because you live in High Density Housing (lots of concrete, or a basement) or Regional Australia - then perhaps this phone isn't for you, but for the majority of the population who are buying this phone it wont make much difference.

Also take note that Xiaomi aren't proactively trying to sell it to Australia - at least not directly which is their standard business model elsewhere. Sure Geekbuying/Everbuying/Ali Express are trying to sell it to here…but when a company doesn't include your country in its firmware, its surely a sign that its not one of its intended markets…are they not cracking down on it coming here because its a great way to test the waters? most likely, so if you are buying something not intended for Australia, don't expect it to support everything from here.

      Personal Experience:
My GF has the Note 3 Pro, we live 10 Mins from the Brisbane CBD, Normal 4G speeds on the Redmi are fine (Boost Mobile which is Telstra Essentially)…I mean the reality is when your hardwired infrastructure (Namely the current ADSL 2+ we have) is slower than your phones internet speed, where are your priorities? Real world tests: not once has she complained about the phones speed for video/downloads etc or its reception for calls etc. So am I happy with the phone for sub $300 delivered when it will get replaced in 1 to 1.5x years? Yes, Yes I am, and many people will be instead of 2x to 3x the price for a Flagship.

    • +3

Regional NSW here (6 hours from Sydney). 4G on boost is terrific, 3G on optus mostly useless, but then it was hopeless in the Motorola and iPhone before this phone too.

The missing bands issue is vastly overblown I think, especially given how ubiquitous free public WiFi is.

    • +1

I have this phone from the previous eGlobal deal at $273 with express shipping. It took only 3 days from the time it left HK to Perth delivered to my office.
I have been able to get 101.23mbps download speed and 10.4mbps upload, I thought that was pretty good without band 700Mhz. I am with Telstra and I was very satisfied to see those results.

    • +2

using optus at the moment, currently connected to LTE with speeds faster than I would ever use. talking out of your arse mate.

How would anyone use even a fraction of their 50+mb connection on their phone, without costing you both of your arms and legs

    • Absolute rubbish. Have had a Redmi Note 3 for 5 months and used both Telstra and Optus. No problems at all. Also used in the UK, Germany and Hungary while overseas recently and got good 4G reception in all of them.

  • Thanks. Bought one as a spare phone, especially for taking it overseas later in the year.

  • +7

Monty would you be able to get a deal on the grey version? That is the only thing holding me back from buying

    • would also like the grey one!

  • Any Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro 3GB/32GB GOLD = Only for First 100 Orders left??

    • I were able to order after your post.

  • Anyone use this phone with the DJI Go app for the phantom 3?

    • +2

no. Xiaomi is far better quality than Huawei, and Xiaomi is the biggest phone company in china / the world.

    • BS legalese followed by three totally ignorant, inaccurate and misleading statements. You must be an ambulance chaser.

    • +1

Xiaomi is by far the best chinese phone company. Most chinese don't use them, yet they are the 5th largest smart phone marker in the world. Okay, some solid logic there

  • +1

Silver colour won't apply anymore, I reckon 50 units limit reached?

    • +1

Just get it from AliExpress, it's cheaper than this anyway

  • +4

Can you do Xiaomi Mi5 32GB deal?

  • +2

You get to use the 100 EB points approx $2 USD at checkout. If paying via paypal, for some particular credit cards remember to change billing currency:
    http://www.pointhacks.com.au/how-to-change-credit-card-billiā€¦

  • Is anyone else's Paypal converting 178.35USD to 247.29 AUD ?

    • Okay finally got what is going on Paypal figure is 247.29, after submitting go back to EverBuying by then it uses the points to bring total to AUD 242.29

  • This dual sim support 3g on both at the same time?

    • Very unlikely.

    • no. the second sim is 2g

      • What happens when 2G system is no longer available?

        NVM - answer found below

  • I have not heard more from monty.melb(associate/rep) in regards to the ROM being officially global or not.
However, just pulled the trigger and bought one and hope that it will be easy to install an official ROM.
Is someone able to assist me in flashing the official global ROM? Had a looked at the MIUI forum and it really looked daunting to tackle this issue.

    • Hi I Will let you know as soon as I heard from sales department.

      • It's too late now as I have already paid for a GOLD coloured phone.
I would like to know when they will start shipping my order using Toll as per your statement earlier.

        • Same here I ordered it last night. Hopefully they're in stock and they will ship out by tomorrow. Let's see how quick this Toll shipping is.

  • damn the 32g is now down to the price I paid for the 16gb lol

  • Still no word MM?

    • Hi Becky is not working today. She will be at work tomorrow.

      • Hey MM. I got a message from everbuying to verify my PayPal account as I have paid using my PayPal account. They told me they need to check if my order is fraudulent but I haven't been asked before from many other sellers. PayPal tells me the verification process will take 5 working days. Are you able to tell everbuying that my order is legitimate thru your communication channel. I am travelling overseas next weekend and I hope to get the phone before leaving Australia.thanks in advance. My order number is EEP1606082114406485 on their system. Hope you can help.

        • Hi he88388,

Thanks for your interest in our product.

This phone comes with vendor's modified global ROM. As I checked your order, you did not choose a faster shipping method, so I'm afraid you may not get it before next weekend.

          Becky

        • @everbuying:
Hi Becky, we were told by your associate that all orders over $40 from 06 June will qualify Toll shipping even when we choose free shipping.

        • @he88388:

          Hello he8838,

Yep, we can provide Toll shipping, but I'm afraid we cannot promise you can definitely get it before next weekend. If you want to cancel the order, I'll help deal with it for you.

          Sorry for the inconvenience.

          Becky

        • @everbuying:
Hi Becky. Are you able to find out and confirm when my order will be shipped and will it be shipped using TOLL please? Thanks

        • @he88388:

Your order will be shipped out tomorrow and we can provide TOLL.

What would you say? Keep this order or cancel it?

          Becky

        • b@everbuying:
          Hi Becky

As per your confirmation above, my order will be shipped out tomorrow via TOLL (tracking number provided), Please keep my order in your system.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

        • @he88388:

          Hi he88388,

Sorry to tell you a bad news.

As the golden version sells quite good on our website, I was told just now the prepared stock from our supplier will come to our warehouse on June 12th. So your order may be shipped out on June 13th or 14th. I suggest you cancel this order as there are too many factors in logistics process that may delay the shipping.

          Hope you can understand.

          Becky

        • @everbuying:

Hi Becky my order number is EP1606080852052667 it's the Silver RN3 Pro. I'm guessing it will be shipped using Toll? And as it's the silver version and not the gold it should be shipped by tomorrow by reading your earlier posts?

          Thanks.

        • @Emre:

          Hi there,

Your order will be shipped out today or tomorrow. Pls rest assured.

          Becky

        • @everbuying:

Thanks for that Becky. And I'm guessing it will be shipped out using the Toll service that you and the rep mentioned in this thread.

          Thanks.

        • @everbuying:
          Hi Becky

I just received a refund from PayPal. I was willing to accept a delayed delivery. I guess it's too late now. Thanks for your help anyway

        • @he88388:

Glad to hear I can help.

If there is anything I can do to help you, pls feel free to contact me.

          Becky

        • @everbuying:

is there a reason why you put a modified rom? Is it possible to order with the official global rom installed?

        • @imtahir7:

          Hi imtahir7,

Because most products on the market are Chinese ROM, we put a modified rom so that you can use once you get it.

          Becky

      • thats a bit of a worry below from Becky saying… "Yep we can provide Toll Shipping.."

Can you confirm that ALL orders will be shipped via TOLL as most that ordered chose the standard free postage in faith what you've told us about being shipped via toll..

        cheers.

  • Hmm. For those of you saying that the second sim is 2g only - the description of the phone from the link says both sims installed in the phone will be 4g capable?

    • 4G capable is not the same as both sim being active as 4G.

Going by my dual sim huawei. I can change between the two sims which is 4G.

So the problem when they shutdown the 2G network the second sim slot becomes useless as its 2G. Unless you can use it as a memory card slot.

      • That's the concern that I have. Would like both SIMs active at 3-4G.

Any available options for phones at this price range?

        • +2

There are no phones with both active 4G at any price range. Not that i am aware of. Happy to be proven wrong though.

  • Specs say only FDD LTE bands 1/3/7 are supported. Is this Redmi Note 3 Non Pro version?
Redmi Note 3 Pro supports FDD LTE bands 1/3/5/7/8

  • Did anybody get a mail asking to verify buyer by sending ID Proof, Address Proof from everbuying. And as of now my order is on hold..this is new..never had such problem with other sellers

    • Not yet my order status is still processing from last night.

    • I am in the same boat. They even ask me to verify my PayPal account which is going to take 5 working days. I'm going on holidays next weekend so not sure how this is going to work. I have emailed them my ID already but they replied not enough and need to verify PayPal account. Never had to do that with other sellers. PayPal has inform me that money has gone thru to everbuying.

      • Thanks for the update..Yes this is really painful. I don't understand why we have to do this after payment has been released..

        • Tell me about it. Never had problems with other sellers using PayPal. Now I had to link my banking account with PayPal which I detest it when i setup PayPal originally. Did they ask u to verify your PayPal too?

        • @he88388: Yes, they did. Waiting for paypal transactions to appear in my acnt. I sent a PM to monty and waiting for his reply about this charade

Monty asked me send message to another everbuying representative.. So still waiting for reply from the new person

        • +1

          @krismoha685:
I just got a reply from everbuying stating that they have approved my account and my order will be shipped in the next 2 days. I have so far provided a copy of my credit card used on PayPal to pay for this, copy of my driver's license and a copy of my PayPal receipt which had my credit card with last four digits. The other hurdle is that from everbuying which replied to my Q's above is that my order may not be here before next weekend.

        • @he88388:

That's a lot of personal information to provide to a foreign seller.

        • @dannyboi:
Exactly. I am not happy about it. Just been advised by everbuying that the phone will come with vendor global ROM which will mean more work for me to flash the official global ROM. Aliexpress seems to be a better deal with 7.25% cash rewards plus official global ROM if you are willing to wait a few weeks for delivery.

        • @he88388:

At least yours has progressed further than mine. My order is still stuck on "processing".

I'll need to have a think about it if they want to verify the details.
In my past experience (with other stores), the most I had to do to confirm a purchase was to verify the correct amount on a dummy transaction on my credit card.

        • @he88388: Same here..Got the same message that they will ship in two days.. Lets hope phone gets here soon for sake of my dad..

        • +1

          @krismoha685:
I have got their rep's confirmation on here that my order will be shipped via Toll with tracking.
If they are serious and honor shipping via TOLL, I have confidence that the delivery turn around will be around 3 to 4 working days. TOLL delivery is very efficient.

        • @he88388: Good Positive thinking :)
