  • Unfortunately, this code is no longer valid.

    • My code or the website itself?

      • wait a min its working now —code

      • both

        • You need to create an account on SamMobile first. Sorry. Its free to register.

  • Code works, Thanks :)

  • Looks like it will be around AU$250 to get it from Amazon, so a good price.

  • Bought it,many thanks!!

    • Do you have one?

    • +4

It's running Tizen OS, nothing to do with lollipop.

    • hmmmm few too many beers at lunch?… finding it a bit hard to decipher your meaning.. lol

    • do you always make posts without all the facts first?

    • lollipop

This does not run on Android OS.

    Dont forget cashrewards!

$289 is the RRP, so it's no bargains.

The Gear 2 Classic watch is RRP$598.99 on Samsung website and HN is selling it for $396.
Wait for the local stores have stocks and could sell below $180.

    • Found the user manual and the specs are good. Might buy one later…

    • No bargain? Its 179 USD in the States = 244 AUD. You aint gonna get it any cheaper

      • The US version has 3 colours to choose from so expect to pay a bit more. The AU version has only black and other colours available in next month.

  • I cannot see the small version on the website. Is it supposed to be just for the large sized version?

    • My guess is that Australia only gets the large version. I have heard that both large and small straps come in the box

  • thanks OP.. grabbed one

  • +1

I was looking at this FIT2 today…. then I saw the RRP of 289, too much, then I saw this post…. ORDERED !!!! Thanks grandtheftbat01

    • I would have bought one if I didn't already have a Gear S2. The device looks to be a really good upgrade from the OG Gear Fit. Tizen is a great flatform for wearables. Happy to have helped :)

      • I have a fantastic Sony smartwatch 3, the only one so far with GPS and good autonomy. I'll keep using on the other wrist for all the android notifications and on my race bike for Endomondo realtime data logs. Unfortunately I have only 2 wrists and I will sell my fitbit charge HR.

  • How good is this? Anyone had the chance to play with one yet? Is it leggy?

    • today is the official release date, no one except blogs can have touched so far. See on youtube, there are some hands-on, looks smooth.

    • +3

      How good is this?

If by "good" you mean does it measure things accurately enough to make informed health decisions the answer is no.

      Is it leggy?

Why are you planning on asking it on a date?

  • It doesn't mention anything about water proof/resistant. Any ideas on this?

    Bargain?

  • I just bought it the best Samsung phone brand ever note 5

    • How much you paid?

  • +2

With the 34% discount came to $190.74

    • +2

What 34%? Can you post the instruction here so we know?

  • +1

Go to the above link to sammobile for the code (30%) fire up cash rewards then go to Samsung store for an extra 4% off

    • +1

The 4% will take 2-3 months to process + many emails to get the rebate. Can't be bothered.

  • This watch received good reviews everywhere but I find this one to be quite critical:
    http://www.cnet.com/au/products/samsung-gear-fit-2/

    What I know so far:
    - GPS can take a while to connect
    - Spotify app on the watch still requires the phone being present… so the internal storage is only for music you load yourself (not Spotify)
    - Can use while swimming or shower
    - Can't connect to cadence sensor or external ANT+ devices

    • +2

Read those reviews, seems good compared with other watches at this price.

Also don't forget to chose express shipping, it's FREEEEEEE.

    • How do I edit my own comment? I was trying to say that you can't wear this while swimming or shower…

Just got mine it's a large size

    • Oh crud really? I've got mine but haven't opened the box yet. There's no second band?

      • +1

        Only one band

        • Thanks eneloop.Looks like I'll be calling them tomorrow.

        • @staceyasinme:

It's actually not that big I have small wrists and theres still heaps of room to go smaller

        • @eneloop: still to big - tried on hubby's and no luck. =(

        • @staceyasinme: Just an update in case anyone else has teeny wrists. Rang Samsung and they were useless. No idea when they'll be making a small band available or if it even will be even though they refer to it in the packaging.
Also no idea when in July the link/blue are out our if they'll be available in a small.
          No luck on eBay/Amazon either.

Got mine today, just happened to check the Star Track shipping and it said delivered so I wandered down to reception and the Star Track crew had just beamed in with the watch. Only ordered it on Monday night.

It came with about 70% charge, hooked it up went to (AUM) and it fully charged by the team my meeting was up which was less than 30 minutes. Hard to remember all these UMs you goto each day, especially when you don't have a watch.

My wristband says L on it, guessing it is for Large and not some crack at me personally? I don't have huge tree trunk arms so it fits with two holes of the band to spare and I usually end up on the lowest notch on most watch bands.

Hooking it up to my non Samsung Droid running that sweet roasted Marshmallow was fairly straight forward, just install Gear App and follow the stuff to do you know what to do I don't have to tell you.

It knows I went up a flight of stairs, how weird is that; I didn't even tell it and I snuck up the stairs as quietly as I could. I went for a short 15 minute run in the arvo and the GPS seemed to work well. I started the tracking as soon as I left work and began by putting my years of frogger experience to practice by running across the road, it looks like it started tracking me on GPS once I'd safely finalised my frogger moves and made it across the road without any splat; all without the holes or a battery.

So anyway only had it for around 8 hours now but all good so far.

Also got notifications like hangouts and txt working on it, if you have the phone open it won't alert on the watch either unless you tell it to.

  • My Gear 2 was damaged, charging pad looks corroded, Samsung won't cover it under warranty, as it was "damaged"…

    • +1

      Samsung Australia is terrible.
