  • There were heaps left at the Braybrook store (VIC) when I looked. Probably only 10-15 units removed from the display. That's not to say someone won't come in and buy 100.

Stanley's retail boxes for this bundle look pretty swish.

  • just went to the Preston/Nothland store and they had around 100 or so left. more than a pallet in front of main entrance

  • got an SMS earlier this morning saying my order is ready for pickup.

    woot

    Hey guys

This is a catalogue item not a clearance line so they will have plenty in stock

  • Already have a drill. Wanted the impact drill. Wish I could sell the drill and battery, but charger will be a problem unless the person has old charger.

  • Anyone found a good deal on the reciprocating skin to go with this?

Best i have found is $97 AUS delivered via amazon (for the Porter-Cable branded version).

Thought about getting the B&D $99 set just for the recip but the resale on the rest of the kit wouldn't be that good.

    • I don't believe on buying cheap crap for cordless, because the batteries AND the tool will be cheap. If you want to buy cheap tools, definitely go for 240V. Especially something so power hungry as a recip / circ / grinder.

      • The fatmax recip gets good review, the P-C one on amazon is just the USA version of the same thing.

Corded isn't an option (no power where i will need to use it).

Your right though i don't think i will bother with the B&D recip unless someone wants to sell theirs out of the kit for $25 or so :)

        • yeah I was talking about the B&D one you mentioned. I haven't tried the Fatmax gear, definitely go by the amazon reviews of Porter Cable version.

    • If you want Recipro, buy the TRITON sets instead.

Drill Driver, Impact Driver, LED Worklight, Recipro Saw, 2 x 2aH Batteries, charger and soft case for $189.00

  • I put my click and collect order in at 9.30 this morning, right now it's 2.30 and still no SMS. I'm just paranoid they'll sell out I should have gone down there lol. Last time I click and collected it they just went to the shelf and got it, it literally took longer than it would have for me to just grab it myself.

if you are not using any gift card etc for more savings, then you should go to the store and pick one up. Then call masters helpline and cancel to get refund.

      • They literally just rang me lol, all good

        • Ordered around the same time. They called me at 3.30 saying out of stock. LoL

        • @ntb: That sucks. There was still 40 left in Pakenham store she said, dunno if that helps lol

        • +1

@addison8019: picked one up yesterday from NorthMead, there was still a whole shelf full of this set while the girl on phone told me it was out of stock everywhere even the manufacturer so they could not fulfil my order. May be she was just lazy to organize stock trasnfer from other stores, such a bullsh*t. LoL

  • got a phone message from the Chullora store about 1pm - have tried to ring them back ever since, and as at 5pm it's still engaged. seems like the deal has been ozbargained ?

EDIT @ 5:20pm - Chullora is out of stock unable to fulfil the order …. no wonder Masters is history

    • +1

Seem like there is still stock in NorthMead. I just ordered 1 yesterday.

  • Picked mine up this afternoon, been playing round with it in the garage and what an absolute bargain all with a 3yr warranty, wheel nuts not a problem either, have to be careful not to over tighten though

Got it a few hours ago. Excellent deal.

For those who are wondering, a few good news about the battery.

Battery pack is made with five 18650 cells. Although someone can argue that 2.0Ah for a 18650 is actually quite weak, cells are Samsung, which is quite good. And, on the other side, it means that the battery pack can be rebuilt easily at home. In two/three years of time (or more), when the battery will be gone, probably a 18650 cell with 3.6Ah will be cheap, and remaking the pack wuill be easy and cheap as well.

Ah, no IC to count the number of cycles, all goot with that.

    • Ignoring the fabrication of a new base for the battery would it be hard to install 2 banks of 5 in parallel to get 4Ah (or 7.1Ah when the price of the cells drop enough)?

      • Mmmhh…May be a bit more complicated. I would not feel 100% comfortable in just doing one parallel adding five cells. Having said that, you can probably find some electronic on eBay to protect th cells (..and yourself, as Li ion are nasty) and do the parallel successfully ! :)

  • was at Masters yesterday and ran into dad. Talked him out of buying this set purely because all his other tools are bosch blues. He wanted to have a second set of drills/drivers just incase for emergency and these were really cheap.

Sounds like your dad should be on Ozbargain instead of you.

  • Masters @ Rouse Hill 2155 - 2 left @ 3pm - probably gone by now

  • Went to masters today to pick up 50c CFL, quite a few people were picking this ..

  • Plenty in Box Hill at 2:00pm this afternoon.

  • Can someone comment on quality please? Does the chuck tighten all the way down with no gap? Could someone post a pic of the chuck tighten all the way down please.

    • +1

Quality seems really good, a bargain for that price. Can confirm the chuck tighten all the way down to the end.

    • Quality seems quite good. Chuck tightens down to a smaller diameter than my dad's ryobi cordless 18V but no there's still a gap, the smallest diameter drill bit would be like maybe 1.5mm? at a guess

    • +1

Pretty sure it needs to have a gap or it wouldn't have a good hold of bits. Either way, if you are wanting to drill with bits smaller than 1.5mm you probably want to get a smaller drill.

You could always just get hex shank bits: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hex-Shank-Drill-Bit-Set-13pc-Titaniu…

      • That 1.5mm is a ballpark guess. I was thinking a dremel for the smaller bits but those hex shank bits look like a good idea

        • 1.5 actually is the lower limit, 1.5-13mm is written on the drill.

  • Link is no longer working. Look like they remove it

  • no more

  • Over 75 left at Williams Landing.

Not sure why its marked as expired.

  • Not sure why it's expired. Plenty at Box Hill, Vic

    • fixed now.

  • Sold out at Box Hill 5pm tonight

  • Sold out at Hoxton Park. The lady said all Nsw store have sold out. I manage to pick up the 1.55m Ute box for $248-massive box for a Bargain price :)

  • I purchesd this 80 pieces DeWalt drill bits from COTD. Are they any good?

    • Seems decent. Doubt you will have much use for all the square bits though but the rest should be useful.

      • Do decks…lots and lots of decks. Use the impact. But the bits constantly falling out or getting stuck would be enough to drive me nuts.

        • Only used one bit doing my deck (6.5x4.2M)

Used this though and the driver bit is quite long and hard to lose: https://www.kregtool.com/store/c24/deck-jigtrade-and-accesso…

        • @Duff5000: that actually looks pretty cool. Their kit seems to use #1 square drives though not #2 in the dewalt kit above. I just went stainless #2 square face screws due to cost for my deck and that went through a fair few of the hardened irwin bits. Damn things would just shear after about 300+ screws.

        • @allergic2work:

i bought the jig kit and a couple of boxes of screws from amazon. Delivered all up was less than one box of stainless screws from bunnings.

All hidden fasteners and the the driver and drill bit supplied seem to be very good quality. Drill bit is still sharp after hundreds of holes into merbau.

  • picked mine up from chullora yesterday. seem like really nice drills. got a light on the front as well. havent tried them yet.

Don't forget to register online to activate 3 year warranty.

Must be done within 4 weeks of purchase date.

NOTE - use the SKU on outside of the box (barcode) and ignore the online instructions to use the individual SKU's for each piece (the exact ones don't exist in the online system).

Print out receipt, extended warranty certificate (avail online once above done) and put with warranty doc.

    • The SKU is FMCK460C2 and if you try barcode nothing comes up.

  • Gave them a good workout today. Put in 100 10x100mm batten screws before i ran out of battery.

Well technically 99.75 as i didn't quite get the last screw in far enough :)

  • Is this still available ?

  • Just bought the last one in stock at Canberra Airport store.
