Plus Amex offer, https://offerenroll.americanexpress.com/enroll/EnrollmentSit…, probably a good deal those who are holding off.

Just tried to sign up, looks like the maximum number of people enrolled already. Thanks though.

  • they seem to have removed the surface keyboard from the website so can't get 15% off it…or am I looking at wrong?
even though "accessories" are supposed to have 15% off

  • Bit off topic, but is that your Evo?

    • Was before I sold it :)

      • No!!! What are you driving now?

        • Bought a Benz C250 CDI (just before it won COTY! Good pick eh) and then sold it when I moved to Singapore where I can't afford a car so I take a bus or train everywhere :) … Or a taxi since they're cheap anyway.

@jace88: Yeah I heard the about the hefty costs associated with owning a car in Singapore. It was from a mighty car mods video actually, lol.

  • Seems like harvey norman doesn't have the surface 3 4gb non cellular in stock anymore. Is this a sign that maybe the surface 4 isn't too far away?

  • Incoming SP5 announcements soon I guess!

    • Not necessarily… I suspect it's EoFY sales

      • I'd be happy with either tbh.

  • Merged from Microsoft Surface Pro 4 i5 128GB $1181 (Save 15%) @ Harvey Norman - Today Only

Pretty good price on a Surface Pro 4 i5 128Gb. Due to Harvey Norman having their one day only sale and taking 15% off Surface models to coincide with Microsoft's own sale,

Can get Officeworks to price beat for $1121.95 so effectively 20% off.

JB are still selling this for $1272 which is dearer than Microsoft themselves oddly so can put the saving towards a type cover as it already comes with a pen.

I ordered over the phone as there's no stock in any of my local stores.

    • Stack it with multiple Amex $50 for $350 spend makes it even cheaper again.

      • How do you stack multiple?

        • Split payments. Perhaps multiple cards.

          • @kwchaz: I see!

          • @kwchaz: I'm not sure this works with supplementary cards.

          • @kwchaz: @phoenix17:

I have two separate Amex cards… not supplementaries for the same account. I'm sure some other Ozbarganites have more than two Amex accounts. :P

    • Can you do price matching over the phone?

      • That's what I did as no local store had stock so I called OW customer service and said I wanted to order over the phone and price match. Ordered and paid $1121.95 with no issues.

  • Not that great considering you can get 15% on MS Store if you are a student.

      Key word is "if".

  • Ugh, got one just a week ago. Didn't think they would better the 10% off.

I like the unit but there are some hard to ignore gripes. Battery life is not good. Seems to auto dim at 75%, and possibly again at 50%.

Accessories overpriced. The Dock (http://www.harveynorman.com.au/microsoft-surface-pro-4-docki…) costs $255 and is not discounted by the 15% off accessories. It's the only way you're getting more than 1 USB port. Keyboard cover normally costs $200. Other covers are also very expensive.

The screen is a dust magnet. Very difficult to put a screen protector on before dust gets underneath it.

    • Hm I thought it's meant to be on sale. How odd. I personally have the dock and I enjoy the single cable approach but it's nothing which can't be achieved with other third party USB hubs/port replicators/etc - only thing you miss out on is the power cable.

If you really want the dock, maybe look online as sometimes they go on sale overseas too.

I personally have a glass screen protector and STM Dux case on mine which helps keep it clean but also makes it a bit thicker… so am thinking of taking the case off again since mine has dbrand vinyls on it anyway (yes I do watch the Linus videos!).

      • A hub will use your USB port. The Dock uses the charging port.

The dock is really good, but I just wish it didn't cost so much, because they're clearly making a killing on accessories as all manufacturers of mobile device accessories do.

        • True, but a hub will usually offer more USB ports for you to use (thus negating the loss a bit). There are quite a few inexpensive Surface Pro docking station alternatives available out there (some offering Displaylink, LAN, audio, etc)… but if all you care about is USB ports, maybe all you need is a powered USB hub.

The official docking station is obviously the nicest all in one cable solution (and the dock itself is quite nice and weighty) but at $200+, it's not for everyone.

      • I thought i'd jump on the dock if it was 15% off, but was disappointed to see that it wasn't. Even at 15% off the price is ridiculous, but I thought I might be able to justify it. Boo!

        • I'm hoping China makes a knock off version for a fraction of the price.
