They're everywhere. They've bent the hell out of my TV antenna on the roof. There's Pigeon poop everywhere and all I can hear is "groo-hoo, groo-hoo" on repeat as they try attracting others to bonk (at least I think that's what they're doing).
They're all over the neighborhood!
May I correct you. The call they make from their nest is oh-oo-oor. A pigeon call of alarm is oorhh!
Well, I don't speak Pigeon, but it sure sounds like "groo-hoo, groo-hoo" on repeat.
They don't nest here, they just sit on the roof, TV antenna and other areas. There's often at least 3 or 4 of the noisy buggers on the house somewhere and their noise drives me insane. They're no longer scared of me. It doesn't matter how I try shoo them away. I've had to resort to throwing rocks at them (I need a slingshot!).
They've actually bent and broken one of the rods on my external antenna.
Worst noise is when they perch on my air-con unit or on the flue from our gas heater… it echoes through the entire house then.
It may be legal to shoot them with certain air weapons. Check your local laws.
Just throwing ideas, having a model eagle/falcon/any prey bird on the roof of your house might help?
