  • I believe Mi Pad 2 has only 7.9 " display, which is the same as IPad Mini

  • Anyone on here have one… Any good?

    • i have the mi pad 2

      nice form factor, feels quality

graphics performance is not very good - beware if you wanna play 3d games on it

      • Hi @netpenthe, I recently bought the Win10 version and having difficulties on it, can i ask if you have the Windows or other version?

Just another warning, geek buying has poor after sales service!

After GB promised action on ozbargain twice after I commented twice about faulty earphones and even then still nothing was done. I had to fight through PayPal to get my money back and they still insisted I post the earphones back to China. I did post back on principal even though it was a real hassle and took weeks.

Other companies are good enough to not insist on this for inexpensive items. Not geek buying, they hope you except a partial refund and stay with the faulty gear rather than post back.

    • -2

What's wrong with posting it back? How else can they be sure youre not scanning them. What sort of quality were you even expecting from "inexpensive" headphones

      • Only Chinese company I've dealt with that makes you do it for cheap items where the postage back is more than the value. They know they've got you by the balls. Most go on goodwill. The main thing wrong s the major hassle to repackage, go to the post office and waste an hour or so doing all this after waiting weeks for a faulty product, then having to wait weeks for a refund. Apart from that nothing's wrong.

        • Isn't that a loophole ?
You can do it for every cheap product from Chinese sites . Regardless of broken or not

        • @astarman: I think PayPal would catch on

        • -2

          @thegrinch:
          And do what ?
You contact the seller for the refund…not PayPal. Lol are PayPal going to deny the seller from giving you a refund

        • +1

@astarman: obviously you're missing something here astarman, I contacted the seller, they offered me partial I said that was no good and when they refused more I had to use PayPal who found in my favour and they extracted the refund but seller insisted on return. If I kept demanding refunds thru PayPal for every purchase I think they would get wise.

        • @thegrinch: Lots of overseas seller try to get you accept partial refund 1st step, 2nd step force you to ship back a $5 item from Australia that cost minimum $25 to ship to China with tracking. Then play ignore for months.

But there are also lots that will just either send you a replacement or refund no question asked.

          So buy wisely.

        • -1

@jpl: From what I've seen there were 2 offers. A partial refund and keep the item or send it back for a full refund or replacement. The latter being a better option with PayPal's refunded returns.

Did you buy with Paypal? Do you know PayPal will refund your return postage? I did this with a GeekBuying return. Postage was $20. Paypal put the postage money in my account in 4-5 days. Too easy.

      • Yeah thanks BB, this was the result. To be honest I think Geekbuying were calling my bluff thinking I would just take the $5 they offered, but on principle I went to the trouble of sending back. Would have been easier just to take the smaller refund and live with the faulty goods. In cases like this should be other options, eg I could have provided video evidence they were faulty.

We have concluded our investigation into your case and have decided in your
        favour.

We were able to recover $13.99 USD, and this amount has been credited to
you. Please allow 5 business days for this adjustment to be posted.

If you are due any additional funds, we will make our best effort to
recover the balance from the seller.

If the seller's account has insufficient funds to complete the refund owed
to you, please be assured that we will take appropriate action against the
seller's account, which may include limitation of the seller's account
        privileges.

        • Customer service will be in contact to let you know that a replacement will be sent.

        • @Clear: I'll believe it when I see it, so far no promises you've made on this blog to me have been honoured.

  • does the mipad 2 require a custom rom or is the stock one ok?

how much does it go for in china?

    • Stock ROM is fine as you can choose Chinese or English and there are other ROMs available on the mi.com forums.

      • i see and isnt the mi pad 2 meant to use nvidia k1

        • No. The original Mi Pad uses the K1.

        • @Clear: the intel chip is faster than the k1?

        • @furythree: Yep.

  • -2

Beware, I have the Mipad 1 and although the hardware is pretty great it has software is slow and buggy, sometimes it doesn't even render chrome pages correctly, being this is a dead Intel platform expect the same

    • -2

Plenty of Intel Z8300 tablets have been popular here and reviewed positively online as they run well with Android. The Z8500 won't be any different.

What about Windows 10 version ?

    • Only Pink is in stock currently. I thought it was best holding off until more stock - unless you want pink of course :)

      • +1

If I get the pink one, my wife will steal it from me. When you expecting more stock, Im in the market for one and about to purchase.

      • Cant add the pink one in cart !!!

  • How about throw in a free case and earphones?

  • Can you do any good deals on basic Android Tablet with MircoSD, 2GB RAM and mi 16GB ROM size 7-8"
