NetGear D6300 Wireless Dual Band AC1600 Modem - $149 + Shipping or Free Pickup (Melbourne) @ Scorptec Computers

53

For only $149 this modem/router (AC Grade) is at a really cheap price. I saw the same router in JB HIFI today for $300 and in Office Works for $194. its a great mid level router that will supply you with greater speed than a cheaper $100 router (N grade router). If you are interested in having a basic home network than you can connect a portable hard drive to this router and stream off any device in the house and still be able to surf the net on other devices with ease.

FYI I was able to price match at office work. JB HIFI said it was too much of a price difference to match even when I ask to price match with Office Works.

Cheaper elsewhere . Smells of sock puppeting to me

    • Cheaper where?

      • +2

        eBay, centrecom, MSY

Sorry OP, $139 at MSY with all store showing stock available. Also, as DONNOT says above its $113.60 at Futu(ebay.com.au) with the 20% off code.

Not sure if this is a deal when you can find a lot of cheaper stocks around.

  • I wouldn't recommend this router. I've gone through two of these and they don't stay so reliable after a few months of use. Testing with multiple computers I've encountered Wi-Fi dropouts like crazy.

    • That's interesting… are you connecting as AC?

I never had any issues. Although sometimes the modem would drop the ADSL connection for now reason…

    • Been using one for years, no issues with it, fast AC connection up into Windows 10 broke my WiFi adapter… But the missus's computer still gets fast AC.

  • Interesting, how do you know the price expires on July 31?

Sometimes I wonder why they sockpuppet. They haven't hit the store rep posting limit… then again they don't realise how blatant it is either.

Joe Public's opinion is rated higher than a store reps

  • Without external antennas is the range still as good?

    • +1

Yes, I am using it for last year or so. No complaints till now

      • Do you get strong signal if you're at the other end of the house?

        • I do. My house is about 600sq

  • NBN?

I've very recently moved from a Netgear setup at home to Ubiquiti AP (UAP-AC-Pro) and EdgeRouter. Netgear stuff is absolute rubbish in comparison.

  • I wish they didn't make the router slanted. If it stood up straight it would take up less space on my very cramped desk.
