The xbox elite is also $399

    • +6

Not bad. Worth it for the controller and hybrid SSD.

      • Controller alone goes for $200. Would buy and sell the console with my non elite controller if it goes on their site.

        • +1

Still on 360 & ps3, don't know much about new consoles. What is an elite controller and why the hell do they sell for $200 ???

        • +4

          @Noobist45:

why the hell do they sell for $200 ???

Because idiots pay $200 for it.

        • +1

Modded and customisable version the X1 controller designed by Microsoft/Xbox themselves. It's for pro "elite" players mainly for FPS games. They just announced they have sold 1 million of them.

        • @wonderboy:

          designed by Microsoft/Xbox themselves

Every Xbox controller is designed by Microsoft.

    • Now THAT is a deal. SOLD.

    • +1

Where abouts is the xbox elite deal at?

  • oh my

    • THIS!!

    • +7

Target have the 3 game bundle for $299 and halo 5 for $29, so no difference in price.

      • +1

Yeah I'd go Target if you don't want Halo 5, can use the extra cash to get what you want. Also target has a few other options.

        • +1

EB is better as at least you can get them.

Just picked one up, thanks OP!

Lower prices due to the new Xbox One S being released in August. Also EOFY haha

    • Love to see a business justify this to the taxman….

      • Love to see a business justify this to the taxman….

Why do they need to justify it? They don't need to unless they are audited and most businesses can justify this but his comment about EOFY was in relation to businesses wanting to boost their sales figures so in this case target and EB games.

        • 'EOFY' is to minimise company tax payments by reducing revenue through expenditure

        • +2

          @yoyomablue:

'EOFY' is to minimise company tax payments by reducing revenue through expenditure

Bollocks, you have no idea what you are talking about. He said it was lower prices due to the new one being released soon and also because of the EOFY but you CLAIM that this is about businesses purchasing these for tax write offs! LOL.

Who do you think buys 90+% of these?
Who do you think will be in target this morning buying these? People in suits or mums and kids?
What do you think a massive increase in sales does for Target and EB Games value?

But no of course this is all about encouraging businesses to purchase……….

BTW please post a link to a definition where EOFY means "minimise company tax payments by reducing revenue through expenditure"

        • @Maverick-au: considering I run a business and have an undergrad majoring in marketing, management & economics, yeah I do.

Yet you can't see how an Xbox One would be a legitimate deduction for many businesses?

        • @Maverick-au: it would be stretching it to justify to the taxman that a product predominantly used for gaming is used for business purposes. But I guess an argument could be put forward, I just can't think of a justifiable one of the top of my head.

        • @yoyomablue:
…If gaming is the nature of your business.

Or, more simply: it's purchased as entertainment which is a legitimate business expense.

You could say the same for a TV but they are used extensively and are a tax deduction.

          What about waiting areas?
          What about hotels?
          What about clubs?
          What about departure lounges?
          What about gaming centres?
What about apartments for short term rentals?
What about rental companies (they rent a hell of a lot of these units)?
What about buying these for promotional giveaways?

      • Ever heard of game developers or publishers?

    • Xbox S is ”just smaller” same CPU node 28nm same everything!! If anything i think the xbox one will be better then the S as it should last longer using a larger heatsink and not cramed togethrt ext ext.

      • And the 's' will have an integrated power supply - I much prefer that to having another little box on the power cord crammed somewhere among my home entertainment gear.

  • +8

Argh must resist…don't have time to play games but it's a good price

    • Same bought a lot $1 360 games still not touching them.

      • +1

Xbox one can play 360 games - get free games with live gold and not 360 anymore -sux..
price is great - but 360 is still working fine.

        • +2

Yeah I have two 360 still fine.

    • Failed to resist :-/

I'm after Rare replay if anyone doesn't want it :)
It's crazy how cheap this console is now!!

  • FFS, Paid $449 through last similar Microsoft deal.

  • unreal.. great deal..

  • Damn. Pulled the trigger last week on the 500GB XB1 with Halo, Fallout and Tombraider for $329.

    This deal is better.

  • should i buy this console or not????? have been a sony ps fan all these while…. i am still waiting for ps4 price drop !!!! or buy this play the hell out of it, then only get the ps4 neo 1 year later???

    • +5

      ¯(ツ)

      • +3

        i think you mean
        ¯\(ツ)/¯

        :)

    • Neo is supposed to be only months away
but will be twice the price of this deal

    • +2

See how the other half lives mate. You've obviously got plans to buy PS4 Neo later in the year, so in the meantime see how the Xbone goes. Hell, you might even get converted!

Get Kinnect, and see how the Xbone can really become a centerpiece to home entertainment. I love watching tv and changing channels with hand gestures. At first it sounds like a gimmic, but its actually a REALLY useful tool. And picture in picture is nice too :).

      • +2

i just need a console to play games… sick of PS3 now ! WHY DID I EVEN COME TO OZBARGAIN TODAY ??????

        • I'm know, right! I already own an Xbox One and now I feel the need to buy a second one, because price, that's why!…

      • I have an elite and they removed kinect gesture support

    • Just get a ps4 don't wait for price drop ur missing out on so many good games. Neo will come out next year and will be above $600

    • Depends. Are there any games you want to play on XB1 that isn't on PS4? If not, don't bother. This is assuming you are getting PS4 eventually no matter what.

PS4 price has dropped a lot already. There was a 1TB U4 LE console + game, bundle for $399 a couple weeks ago.

    • 100% get this, NEO will be expensive

    • I have both xbox one and ps4.. I spend most of my time playing league of legends on the PC lol

  • 2 Days too late
    :-(
Just bought a bundle from JB for $379

  • Hmm I knew the crashes were coming, still deciding whether to get this or wait for a PS4 crash.

Are we sure this ain't another click bait deal…like I don't have to trade a console or this is a refurbished console from a crack dealers basement?

    • Is there ps4 crash coming?

      • Well there was the JB hifi one day Uncharted PS4 deal for $378 which was pretty good last week. With the new PS4 due next year the price will inevitably crash at some point.

        • Yeah right. When PS4 was first launched PS3 500GB was still at $300+. Took it 2 years to drop to $199. There will be new lower RRP for PS4 But unlikely to crash to anywhere below $299 in a year from Neo is launched. This Xbox One bundled with games is already at $299. And some games are cheaper on Xbox One platform than on PS4 don't know why.

  • +1

Cheap but I'm waiting for Scorpio pricing to be announced first. And if that's more expensive than I hope, then I'll get Slim model instead. Not desperate to own an Xbox any time soon.

    • u will be waiting a year then

      • As I said, not desperate to own an Xbox any time soon.

But they could also announce pricing ahead of the launch, thus not needing to wait that long.

        • yeah when i said "a year" i am assuming they announce the price months before launch cos it won't be out till, what october next year? november?

        • @Iggemo: Fair enough.

They're having trouble securing exclusives that I care about since I don't like MS's first party games. Everything else is multi-plat and I have PS4 and PC. The only big exclusive I can think of is QB, and that game got mixed reviews.

I'm finding it hard to justify buying one other than because it's cheap. So may as well wait. I'll be kicking myself if I bought the old console and the new one only turns out to be a little bit more expensive. Phil did say it was going to be "console priced" whatever that means.

        • @lostn: MS has no xbox exclusives moving forward, all xbox games are on win10 as they are unifying the player base and making xbox a service

quantum break is on pc too

  • +1

Hoping for a PS4 deal, better than the uncharted limited console previously from JB which went for $380 with discount voucher.

    • Same here. I have owned and disowned an Xbox One. I am now interested in the PS4 because I wish to see what life is like on the other side. Also, because of God of War.

      • +1

Disowned, haha. I'm picturing you telling at the poor Xbox One "you have brought dishonour to our family! Get out of my house!".

  • very tempting

  • Price is updated on site, ordered and I'm happy. Thanks Confusedhuh

  • I don't really have a TV, i have still Ordered 1 :)
    Thanks OP

  • +1

    already have a PS4…. must….resist…temptation….

but seriously what games am i missing out on with the XB1? Is it worth it just for Tomb raider and Forza?

    • +1

They have like 4-6 exclusives. Halo 5, Forza, Sunset Overdrive, and something. Tomb Raider is timed exclusive.

PS4 has a ton more exclusives and plays games in better visual quality. Your call.

    • Tomb raider comes out for ps4 soon anyway.

Only exclusive games that are AAA are Halo, Gears Of War and Forza.

This is an amazing deal, but as a pa4 gamer I thought about it and I'd rather invest that $299 into PS VR which is due in November

      • Apparently rise of the tomb raider is cancelled for the PS4 :(((

        http://www.mobilenapps.com/articles/14775/20160628/rise-of-t…

        • Yes I saw this today, very sad news. If true they making a huge mistake by alienating millions and millions of ps4 gamers. They will also miss out on future sales of tomb raider sequels even if it ends up returning to ps4.

Square Enix unfortunately is known for bad decisions when it comes to publishing their games

        • It doesn't say that. Nothing definitive. Don't buy into the rumours.

        • @fookos: well the rumors for project scorpio and neo were actually true. So it is likely

        • +1

          @talha900:

Shame for PS4 owners if it is true… but there is that chap who said in the article that it is planned for the holiday season so maybe there's still hope for the re-release for Sony.

Yesterday morning that would have worried me as I'm a PS-man (two PS3's) and am still getting through my backlog of top-tier PS3 games before considering a PS4.

Then, yesterday, I accidentally tripped over and landed on the keyboard and mouse. Flailing about, I inadvertently purchased an Xbox One with the game bundled in, so I'm all set.

I'll still grab a PS4 at some stage - will wait for the smaller one - largely to play Uncharted as I've knocked off all the others (including the version on Vita).

  • Do they accept trade in? How much for the xbox 360 slim 320GB.

  • Oops, "accidentally" purchased.

Has anyone tried trading in Halo 5 immediately or is it completely pointless given the discount to retail they give you?

  • Think the controllers will go down in price too?

  • Thank you, picked one up just before close!!!! Been eyeing out an xbone for so long.
