  • Any notable terms of use?

Would I be fine using it to host mp4 video files?

    • I think you should be right, its free after all :P

Doteasy’s offering of “unlimited” services does not allow the actions of individual Members to negatively or adversely affect the service experience of other Members. Doteasy’s shared hosting service is designed to meet the typical needs of an average small business or home business website. Our services are not intended to support the greater web hosting needs of large enterprises or to be used as an online storage warehouse to store backups, archiving of electronic files or emails, documents, log files, etc. or to be used as a media file streaming/sharing hub.

        Welp, there goes my idea…

        • Makes the use of the word "unlimited" to describe the data use seem a bit misleading..

        • @JigBew:

I don't believe they will enforce it unless they can see large amounts of usage, though it's still a letdown to see it in the ToS. Considering it's a US server location they could easily support users with traffic upwards of 2TB/mo on a plan that's US$11.95/m normally. There's no reason for them to advertise unlimited then assume a usage of under ~100GB (judging by "small business or home business website").

Edit: Ofc, for free, it's still not bad.

    Be-aware of this:

Credit card info is required for verification only. No payment will be charged to the credit card provided.

Make sure you only use giftcard when you make registration of your service.

Seems like they are pretty keen on collecting your credit card info.
They sent me a Payment_Authorization pdf to fill in.

Seems a bit dodgy for some free hosting.

      • they may want a signed payment authorisation form as proof to reverse any credit-card reverses…

I hope they are not boosting their client base to sell their business like the last free hosting offer.. that the new owner didn't honour.

  • no matter what i do it wants me to pay $5usd -_-
