  • Absolute bargain! Thanks.

    • you are welcome =)

    awesome - thanks!
stocking up for the next 3 years worth

  • i personally use aldi's logix washing powder 3.69 per kilo

works out to be 0.0735c per wash

but if convenience is what your after this is alright

    • Yeah we usesd that up until a few months ago, as I thought they're the same & you pay a significant lazy tax for the tablets. Then we were given a 1/2 box of the bulk aldi tablets (the ones you have to peel the wrappers off) and some how they actually appear to work better (as in much less dishes/cups still a bit dirty and some how the dishwasher insides are cleaner).

      • Yeah we recently bought those same ones (where you must unwrap ahead of use): they're properly great.

13 washes for 1 cent. Bargain

Might want to move that decimal point.

    • I was using the Unamat powder which was selling for $2 in a cardboard box, but they stopped selling it a couple of years ago. I resort to the budget Coles powder now, also in cardboard and could be from the same factory as the Unamat used to be. Can't seem to see a difference however after a couple of years some of my glasses are a bit foggy (I never use rinse aid though)

      • Thanks for the tip on the coles powder.
Avoid rinse aid. Avoid milk froth cleaner. There are natural alternatives.

        • Can you suggest any?

        • @Jackson:

White vinegar is great as rinse aid.

        • @tonydav: and cheap as, and an antibacterial although the heat in the dishwasher does that anyway.

        • @Jackson: Alcohol mixed with a little citric acid (optional). The cheapest vodka you can buy will do… works to get rid of streak marks on windows/mirrors too (and it doesn't smell like vinegar).

        • @tonydav:
I was told Vinegar can damage both dishwasher and washing machines when used as rinse aid and softener

        • @Peanut money: the key ingredients in most streak free glass cleaners are alcohol, and sometimes citric acid.. both should be fine for a dishwasher… also vinegar isn't the most pleasant smelling stuff IMO.

I don't have a dishwasher yet but bought $210 worth lol

Any deals on a decent dishwasher

Something European. My Blanco is awesome.

      • -2

is it compatible with Quantum Powergel tablets :P

        • I dunno. I put them in and they work but I haven't read any documentation to confirm it…

      • Agreed, my Blanco has been brilliant

      • I know this is just as anecdotal but my Blanco has been nothing but trouble.

        Probably made on Friday.

        • +1

I know this is just as anecdotal but my Blanco has been nothing but trouble.

Blanco rank poorly in the choice reliability surveys by a large margain. Miele followed by Bosch are at the top consistently.

        • @Maverick-au: I have a Miele dishwasher and it is superb.

        • @slewis69au:

I have a Miele dishwasher and it is superb.

Same ours is over twenty years old and works like new.

  • How soon until this is OzBargained?

  • +1

Close to best price ever here, definite buy .. :-) .. !! (9 cents, May 2015, damaged box, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/194379)

    • Those were Powerball Classic. These are Quantum. Better buy!

    • I got that deal too, they're ok but have nothing on the Quantums. Probably gonna give the Classics to the parents or something.

      • As a matter of academic interest, how are the Quantums better? I use the the Classics and everything comes out clean 100% of the time, I don't see how that could be improved .. πŸ˜• .. ??

        • Depends on how dirty are your stuffs you put in.

        • Non-academically speaking, It's probably just me but the occasionally item doesn't get cleaned too well compared to when I used Quantums. But as superforever mentioned l, it varies from household to household. I'm a fair slob. 😬

        • +2
        • +1

Rinse aid already included in the quantum

        • @tonester: woo! so I'm not crazy!

    • +1

60pk for $7 @ Kmart was the best Quantum deal. 11.7c/ tablet.

      • +1

i'm still going through those :)

        • I have 378 tablets in my warehouse. I would've bought another 240 at this price though.

        • +1

          @sween64:
Iv got 400 plus in storage
          Bought 480
I'm now sweating on the useful life of these damn things

        • @Peanut money: Just keep them in a dry environment.

        • +2

          @sween64:
          Thanks
I'll try not to sweat on them directly πŸ˜„

  • The pack works out at $0.30 per tablet, and can supply you for six months based on one tablet per day.

The former being incorrect I can understand, but the latter…. regardless of whether or not it refers to 1 pack or 4.
Clearly different type of professionals work at HN

    Great first post Dr Cheapo!

    • thanks nbn!

      • +12

        There's a phrase I thought I'd never hear.

  • I purchased a set, thanks OP

Although took me a while to figure out if im getting 1 box or 4 box's…. so 240 tablets?

    • +2

yeah i thought this to but i confirmed with store rep this morning - 240!

      • Just confirmed too with online rep . It's 240 in total. Remember to keep screen shots

        • Reminds me of the time i purchased TONGS from TGG, and it had a picture of a 10pack, and they rang me and said they where out of stock, and i couldnt be sent one tong, i said its for a 10 pack? they replyed nope just 1 tong. , i replied who in their right mind would pay $10 for 1 tong LOL.

  • How do you guys seriously find this kind of bargain xD.

    Bought 1 set, thanks !

Delivery to Perth is $15! No deal!

    Jk.. I bought 5 :P

  • Thanks OP. Grabbed some cheers

  • my last box was 4 x 60 = 240 (inside the box they're 6x5 double layered)

  • is this parallel import?

  • Bargain thx op

  • Thanks. Bargain!

  • Thanks, bought a pack.

  • Thanks OP, bought two packs or 480.

  • We use these at work, however often there is still 1/3 of a tablet smooshed in the bottom of the soap tray. I read online that sometimes this happens on short wash, however we always use the long wash. The only remedy it seems is to go back to powder (F&P unit, not the 2 drawer type)

    • it happens with any brand

    • Have you tried pre-soaking the tablet with a splash of water? May help the exterior skin dissolve.

      • Not tried anything as I only see the aftermath

  • which one is better… classic or quantum??

  • i only bought 3 lots, hope i don't regret buying more

  • +5

Thanks OP…brought a pack (240) :) Even though this morning the wife and I were bragging how we wont need to buy tablets for a year after the last Ozbargain deal…lol

Better break the news to her…..

  • Anyone know what the scent is like? I've only ever tried the us scented dishwasher tablets.

    • +1

us scented? Do they use gun powder?

      • Unscented apparently that's not a word my iPad wishes to recognise 😝

        • Haha! Try 'unsmelly' next time ;)

  • Crazy deal, thanks OP!

  • Thanks ops. Had to order 4 lots to justify the $15 postage, still works out about 10c each

  • Thanks OP, got 2

  • Thanks OP just grabbed 3 lots, should keep the dishes clean for a while

    • i got 2400 tablets in total.

should get away with one wash every other day so ~160 tablets a year so these should last us a lifetime lol

      • Just wait till you have kids.

  • +2

    And… they're gone :)

  • +1

far out - missed it by a minute

  • Are we done here?

  • Ozbargained.

  • +1

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I was just at the checkout!!!! got upto the payment method and then it disappeared on me…
Yeh I think it was a pricing error to begin with, considering that the stand alone 60 pack was $21 as well

    • The apple ones are on special at coles as well, though not like this special, I think it just doesnt well well so places have been given some markdowns to clear them I am not sure it was an error just a get rid of these non selling apple tablets

      • Clearly something wrong with Apple tablets.
Non apple tablets perform way better

        • More RAM?

      • -2

correct. but even if you go you wont find any because ozbargain just bought the entire stock

        • thanks but how do you know that's not just warehouse stock as opposed to in-store stock given that click+collect wasn't available?

        • -2

          @tonester:

Orders get fulfilled from the stores. They most likely will get a phone call from head office not to sell any to fulfill the ozbargainers professionals orders
